03: quest time! (closed)

[So Nanaki is trying her hand at some of the quests, since she's having fun as a mage and wants to be as helpful as she can. So far some of her quests have gone well while others have been less than great, but she's reached a point where she needs allies to complete one of the quests she is interested in.

So, she decides to go find Hubert and ask him to help, and maybe drag some of his friends along too. The more the merrier, right? So yeah, she's heading towards the amusement park, since she figures he would be working today even with the curse going on.]

[Hubert had already been dragged out. A lot. Pascal was more than excited about the curse and both of her friends were going to wind up suffering for it.

But Hubert was more willing to put up with Pascal's antics than Cheria was when she got frustrated and exhausted to boot, so for this one Cheria was at home resting while Hubert continued to go with the hyperactive Amarcian.

He hadn't really bothered to check in with anyone else, so seeing Nanaki was a bit of a surprise, prompted to raise his hand and call out to her.]

Miss Nanaki!

*Pascal, for her part, looked distracted all the shiny amusements around. Oh, why did all of these have new ones have to show up right as there were quests to do?!?!?!*

Huhwho?

[She gives a friendly wave as she hurries over to the pair.]

Hey there! Is this one of your friends?

[She hasn't met Pascal yet, but she'll wait for Hubert to introduce them first.]

Yes. Pascal, this is Miss Bekku Nanaki. Miss Nanaki, this is Pascal. Pascal and I were traveling companions in our home world.

[Polite as he sounds, there's this odd sort of note to his voice when he introduces his Amarcian companion. It's difficult at best to detect just what it is, though.]

How is your first curse treating you, Miss Nanaki?

Good to meet'cha!

*Pascal waved towards Nanaki, then quieted down so she and Hu could converse.*

Hi Pascal, nice to meet you.

[She gives a polite greeting before answering Hubert's question.]

Actually, I was thinking about maybe doing some of those quests, but it looks like some of them need a group. Do you two want to join a group for questing?

Hm. I don't see why we couldn't combine forces.

[There's a pause, before he looks to Pascal.]

If you're alright with that.

Cleric. And Pascal is a thief. It's... been interesting, to say the least. We had another but she's at home resting for the moment.

... Hrm. That reminds me. I need to work on some good dramatic thief lines. Like, "By the next night, I'll steal your heart!", or another catchphrase like that.

That makes it sound like you're a romantic thief from a book or something.

[Heart Thief Pascal has a nice ring to it. It would be the best manga ever.]

If you have a catchphrase, then we all should have one. Sort of like the Rainbow Rangers!

[He's pretending to not be curious. And failing.]

[Oh whoops sidetrack. It's not her favorite show, but she's friends with a dumb teenage boy, so she's seen it often enough.]

Oh right, then different world thing. Um... the best way to describe it would be that they're a team of crime-fighting superheroes who wear matching costumes in different colors. Then the criminals get in giant robots so they do too and they combine into one big robot to save the day.

But the important part is each one has their own catchprase they say when they transform. Like the Red Ranger, he says "Your reign of terror ends here! I, the Red Ranger, will stop you no matter what!"

[She might have been a bit too enthusiastic at the end there, so she looks a little awkward after a moment of silence.]

A-and stuff like that.

That's ridiculous!

[Wait for it.]

It should be more like... "Your reign of terror ends here! The Blue Ranger is here to bring you to justice! Surrender, or suffer a painful defeat!"

[Really now, Hubert.]

Hu?

The Blue Ranger's always the second in command. I'm pretty sure that crosses worlds.

*Time to stop these two from getting into a continuity argument!*

She's right, the Red Ranger is the one who's the leader.

[She looks at Pascal, who has red and white hair, then down at herself, since she was given an all-red outfit for this curse.]

Which one of us would be the leader?

[Hubert huffed in irritation (maybe the Blue Ranger WANTS to be in charge sometimes, did you ever think of that girls?) but didn't bother correcting or arguing with them.]

Shouldn't we be focusing on getting a quest started?

... Oh, uh, right!

Let's do that.

But yeah, Nanaki is pointing over in the direction of the quest board.]

Why don't we go look for one that we could do?
