Sola's Quest Log
Who: Sola and any other intrepid heroes
When: All this week and next
Where: Everywhere there's a quest and some places there aren't!
Status: Half open (Ajar?) Details below.
[The second Sola discovered the nature of the bubble's new game, he hit the ground running. Quests? Potions? The chance to help everyone and be a hero? This is definitely right up his alley!
This week and next Sola can be found running around more than usual. He's even taken up residence in the "Inn" for the duration, sleeping there every night instead of at his own house. The innkeeper will be happier that way, right?
Sola will take on any and every task and in order to find them all, he's going out of his way to talk to everyone, so he can be seen conversing with NPCs a lot. Y'know, when he's not out fighting wolves for their teeth and shanks, delivering a message for a lazy shopkeeper, or cleaning up in front of the bakery every damn day this week (rotten kids!). Of course, some of these quests he needs help with; what's a warrior on a group quest without some support, right?]
((ooc: Sola's all about the level grinding for this curse! If anyone would like to help out/ complete a quest with him, please just comment below with the quest title in the link. I'll set up a few that I've already worked out with people (as such, those are closed to just the people in question). The threads don't have to be the quests themselves, they can just be talking after, or setting up to go out! And don't be surprise if Sola mentions something about the coral to every single one of you.))

[Sola scoots out from under his trolldad and gives him a once over to be sure he doesn't need to offer a health potion.]
And you get my point now? No one normal lives in a place like this. She must be evil!
no subject
[Sufferer gets to his feet and takes his guitar off his back.]
We are trying to break into her home, Sola.
[He starts strumming a soft, quiet melody; he's found that tunes in this chord tend to make things that are hidden show up a little better, and it seems like a good idea, considering the circumstances.]
no subject
[No one sane does!
Sola regains his feet as well and peers into the hallway he'd kicked open. There's several more swinging axes, though it's nothing they can't avoid by crawling. The crawling may be made more complicated by the shining wires across the floor that Sufferer's song reveals though.]
She booby trapped it. Maybe if I throw my shield I can trip all the wires without us in there and we can walk past since they'll have gone off already.
[He's not going to just do it though; he learned his lesson after kicking down the door.]
no subject
[He keeps playing, mulling over the idea.]
But then if something happens to your shield, you won't be able to protect yourself. I'd hate for it to catch on fire and burn or anything.
[He considers further.]
Do you have a ball? Or anything we can roll up into a ball?
no subject
[Sola digs through his stuff for a moment. After coming up with several potions and two bags of beast master pet treats, he rolls up a rag he'd had on his for shield polishing.]
This'll work.
[He glances down the corridor and with a nod to Sufferer, sends the wad of cloth rolling through as many of the tripwires as he can.]
no subject
Shall we, then?
no subject
Yeah, let's go.
[He doesn't charge on ahead this time, but he does go first with his sword and shield drawn. Who knows what else might be lurking down here and he has to keep his trolldad safe!]
no subject
Just a moment.
[He switches to a new song, one Sola might recognize, and a lazy little ball of light appears ahead of them to illuminate the room. What is in there?]
no subject
The walls are lined with bottles and jars of preserved specimens. Small animals of various types from mice and bugs all the way up to a fetal pig float solemnly in the multicolored jars. Dominating the center of the room is a sterile metal table and a tray of various surgical instruments, each more terrifying than the last. Off to the left, next to an out of place cheery yellow door with a pink flower painted on it - like the door to a girl's bedroom - are two tall glass cylinders. One remains intact, housing what looks to be a vague humanoid form though the glass is too fogged to see its face. The second is empty, the glass shattered.
There's squishing sounds coming from somewhere in the room, though the acoustics in here make it impossible to tell from where.
Suspicion mounting, Sola keeps close to Signless with weapons raised, looking around carefully. He won't let anything get the drop on them.]
I guess this is her, uh... private lab?
no subject
[Sufferer doesn't like it here. It's a little too much like a subjugglator's lair for his tastes, especially with all the dead animals in multi-colored jars around. He follows Sola in though, and makes a move right towards the cheerful door... and the squishing sounds, which he doesn't hear over his playing.]
Let's go up to the lab, and see what's on the slab.
lmfao ilu
uh...
Appendage that contains eyes. A pink collar. With rhinestones. Which is only marginally distracting from the four circular rows of teeth around the gaping maw of the creature as it advances with a slow, sickening squelch towards the two intruders.
Man that's disgusting.]
I was hoping you'd get the reference! :D
Ewwwww.
[He's played the sun song enough that it will stay bright in here for awhile, so he stops and starts backing up, away from the thing.]
What is it?
I did Rocky Horror a lot in college
[But it's not really something he particularly wants to fight. They're lucky its slow; they can probably lure it away from the door then dash past it.
To that end, Sola uses his Look Here skill, whistling loudly to get the thing's attention. It swivels its eyeless head full of teeth at him and starts shlorping towards Sola at a slightly quicker pace than anticipated, causing Sola to back up with his shield raised.]
Try the door, I'll keep it distracted!
no subject
[Sufferer knows that Sola will be better in a fight than himself, and he also knows that Sola is smart enough to avoid a fight if he can. He runs to the door and fumbles with the lock, trying to ignore the gross sound of the thing squelching across the floor.]
I can't get it! Can you pick a lock?
[He turns and sees that the thing has gotten much closer to Sola. Panicked, he whips out his guitar and starts playing a lullaby. Maybe he can put it to sleep and give Sola time to pick the lock?]
no subject
[The collar on the thing makes Sola less and less inclined to attack it; it's obviously some kind of bizarre pet, but if it gets any closer, he'll have to put it out of their misery and risk restitution later.
Or it could flop over on its side and let out a great snore instead. That works too.]
Phew... thanks Dad. I guess being a bard is pretty useful!
no subject
[Sufferer is relieved too. He saw the collar, and he's loath to kill or injure anyone's pet. Having it take a nap is a much better solution.]
Can you come get the door? I'll keep playing so it stays asleep.
no subject
After a minute of jiggling and trying to be careful, Sola instead turns from the door and starts to go through everything in the room. He looks through drawers and opens every box he can find, checking bookcases and even tugging experimentally on a hook hanging from the ceiling. The only thing he has left is to smash the two big pots in the corner.
That's how you look for keys and stuff in Hyrule, okay?]
no subject
[Sufferer knows how this works! He plays a little louder in hopes of keeping the slime thing asleep.]
no subject
Ugh, where is it? It's gotta be here somewhere!
[Sola vents his frustration in a stage whisper, turning to look back at Sufferer and the creature while he scrubs at his hood in frustration. Then freezes.
The key.
It's...]
...It's on the collar.
no subject
[Sufferer gets a little closer to the creature, and sure enough, it's wearing the key on its collar like some kind of weird charm. Whelp.]
Um... I don't know if it will stay asleep if you start messing with its collar. [he looks at Sola a little helplessly] I don't want to hurt it, I think it's a pet.
no subject
[The... pet thing rolls over and scratches itself with one blubberous appendage in its sleep, the key resting tantalizingly right in the open as if the beast did it on purpose.]
See? It'll be easy, it's just on a hook.
no subject
[Sufferer noticed the way the thing scratched itself, and he remembers seeing Di's purrbeasts do the same thing. It gives him an idea. He walks closer to Sola and the thing, setting his guitar down as he gets on his knees next to it. He takes a deep breath, and then... starts rubbing its belly (or at least what he thinks is its belly).]
Who's a good slime baby? You are! Yes, that's right, you're a good slime baby, yes you are!
no subject
Ooookay then. At least the key is in easy reach?]
no subject
Would you grab the key, Sola? Oh yes, who's the best slime baby? It's you, yes it is, it's you!
no subject
[He'll just sheath his weapon again and lean down the unhook the key. The so called slime baby doesn't even seem to care so happy is it to get attention.
Sola's just gonna go open the door now. Very slowly. In case of axes.]

aaaaaugh, I lost the email for this, sorry!
no worries! It's pretty much done anyway
