The floor is now lava!
Who: Edward and Everyone
When: Mid-morning
Where: The central Plaza
Style: Starting Action, also like prose if you prefer.
Status: Open to all to suffer the perils of avoiding lava.
[There is a small bit of a commotion in the plaza today. It seems a certain gangly 13-year-old has taken to climbing on, over, and around various objects in the Plaza. Tables, chairs, plants even smaller parts of the coral are being as objects to be climbed on as she is working her way from one end of the plaza to the other. She even at one point jumps on the back of one of the residents of the bubble, before jumping to a nearby table. Those checking to see what the crazy girl is up to, will notice a message scrawled on the ground all over the plaza.]
[Following her, as usual, is her small brown corgi, Ein. He seems to be immune to the effects of the floor lava.]

Or not. The lava floor doesn't seem to affect Kurloz, either. He's just staring at the message on the ground with his head tilted curiously. He hasn't seen this before.]
no subject
Heya, Mr. Stitches, didja come here to play with Ed?
no subject
no subject
[Ed hops to the next table over, and turns to look back at him.]
no subject
no subject
[With a smile back at him, she turns and jumps to the next spot of safety: A large planter with a small tree coming from it.]
no subject
Kurloz doesn't move toward the planter- at his height, grabbing onto the tree the wrong way would probably just tip the whole thing over. Instead, he goes for a nearby chair, and ends up crouched on the seat.]
no subject
Wiggler games for a wiggler human alien is all kinds of fitting for you, motherfucker.
no subject
Edward is glad you are here, Mr. Such-Hair-Person! She would have had a tricky jump to make if you had not come by. She is happy you are much too strong to melt to the scary lava.
[Meanwhile the small dog had stopped moving and was warily watching her interacting with the Highblood. Ed might not seem to understand what a danger he was, but the dog certainly did.]
no subject
But again, he's given up killing people here- even the interesting ones. He saves the murderfest for those special individuals ♥ ]
And here I all up and thought I had nothing better to do with my motherfucking time. This another stupid motherfucking alien past time?
no subject
Now onward, Helmsman!
[She strikes an explorers pose as best she can there on his shoulder, and points towards a cluster of tables.]
We set sail for the Over-there-table Islands! If the winds are right we might just make it before nightfall! If not we be guiding this ship by starlight over the sea of flame!
no subject
This motherfucking ship likes the motherfucking nightfall, let that motherfucker drop hard on this noise. I don't give a fuck.
[At least he's not pitching Ed off, right?]
no subject
[She laughs in delight.]
Mr. Such, you are the best ship, so full of surprises!
no subject
Never heard of no motherfucking sentient ships? Naive little shit you all up and are, whoever the motherfuck even made you captain needs to straight up cull himself right the fuck now.
[But getting kind of bored of just standing there, he does slowly make his way towards the tables. Once he reaches one, he uses the surface of the table as a chair, the actual chairs being much too low for his comfort.]
no subject
Nope, nope! You are the first, Mr. Such. Ships where Ed are from do not have sentience, just computers. They are intelligent, but incapable of mutiny. Also, Ed made herself captain, because the fire of adventure beats deep within her heart. The splash of waves and the crashing boom of cannon-fire ring within her very blood! ... or something like that.
[He sits and Edwards smile practically splits her head in half.]
Mr. Such, We have hit land! Let's drop anchor and go to shore. If the natives are not friendly they shall taste of our 8-pound guns. Or maybe the strength of the ship itself. He is not to be trifled with!
no subject
If those words were uttered amidst the Subjugglator court, your sorry ass would all up and motherfucking culled on sight. Calling a highblood a ship- fuck, that's all up an insult saved for the psychic lowbloods that were motherfucking wired on up to the hull. Like a livin' and breathin' engine, heh.
shit's so indigo up in here
I don't get it.
Re: shit's so indigo up in here
[Cue Ed changing her next jump to a different table, then to a bench, as she headed straight for Gamzee. She makes a few more tricky jumps and ends up perched on a nearby piece of the coral. She was certainly agile.]
Are you here to play with Ed?
no subject
[Hey, he is always down for having fun with whoever wants to have fun. Not that he exactly gets what they are playing here. He has lived a sad and lacking life, never having played the floor is lava before.]
no subject
Great! The rules are simple: The ground is now lava. Don't touch it!
no subject
[The floor is Lava? Fuck! Gamzee hadn't even realizes. He takes a few big steps, all the while looking like he is actually expecting the ground to burn away his feet before he manages to make it over to the coral, clambering on.]
That's some hella dangerous shit there, lil' bro.
no subject
[Edward jumps from her place on the coral to a nearby bench, startling one of the locals on the others side of the seat, who promptly ignores her and goes back to his newspaper.]
It is very dangerous, yessiree!
no subject
[Thank god he is not as klutzy as he might seem. Rather, he is a total klutz when doing hard things like walking. But somehow when doing more involved things like vaulting to the safety of a lava resistant bench, he manages without fumbling. How does that work? Miracles is how. Fuckin' miracles.]
It's some kinda rudeness is what it be.
no subject
[Gamzee always has been a bit of a strange one, maybe thats why Ed likes him.]
no subject
no subject
[A couple jumps and a short trip of riding on the back of one of the locals and Edward deposits herself on a nearby table. Ed gives Sera a goofy grin.]
Can't be too careful with all this lava!
no subject
Oh no!
[Farewell napkin box. We barely knew thee.]
no subject
[Ed laughs. Ed would be scared to involve the locals, but after seeing how passive they tended to be, she thought they would not mind being portable islands to keep her safe from the ravages of the super-heated molten rock.]
no subject
Does your little friend need to be saved from the lava?
no subject
Who? Ein? Oh no. The little furry-people are lava-proof. It has something to do with his stubby little legs; Magic they be.
no subject
That's amazing!
[She points to a random passer-by.]
That poor man, the lava's taking him away!
no subject
Yes! He is quite the pup!
[She shakes her head at the passerby.]
Its a shame really. There are so many good things to float on and he tried swimming. Mistake-mistake!
no subject
[More players would be a lot of fun right now. That or getting to a new location. She's a little shy to do so, since she's certain something bigger than a napkin holder is going to fall. But Ed wasn't scolded, so...]
Should we move to higher ground?
no subject
[She pauses to look around her, what could they make for? Ah. Another table, then bench, then planter away was a larger outcropping of the coral. Strong, sturdy, and higher then most of the surrounding terrain.]
To higher ground! [She points, before leaping the first jump to the table, with a small skid.]
no subject
Hup!
[She leaps onto it, and falls on her face. Fortunately the flowers are unharmed, but she's a little dirty. That doesn't bother her one bit, though. Junkyard residents get dirty all the time.]
no subject
[Ed was also well versed in being in places that were conducive to one getting dirty.]
no subject
And all these unsuspecting people..
no subject
[Ed was slowly bounding over to her. Stopping to judge a jump from one table to the next. She makes the jump but skids a bit, almost sliding off, but she catches herself at the last instant by grabbing at the edge of the table, half hanging over the molten rock below her.]
[Ed grins in relief, and makes the rest of the journey with relative ease.]
It is good to see that the Tifa-Person is safe!
no subject
[Tifa pretends to check them for damage and then smiles at Ed in amusement.]
I'm glad the Edward-person is safe, too.
no subject
That is good. Lava is especially dangerous to shoes. Eats them right up.
[Ed was barefoot... but then again she always was, wasn't she? She takes her time, eying up a jump, before leaping to land on a nearby piece of coral. She turns and perches on it, looking back at Tifa.]
She is quite lucky to be alive, the lava is everywhere, yeppers! Ed is just glad there are so many lava proof things in the plaza!
no subject
[Of course, Tifa doesn't know what actually happened to Ed's shoes, but eaten by lava is a good enough explanation. She picks her way after Ed, choosing her own path.]
And certain lava-proof people. How do you think they manage that?
no subject
Edward never had shoes, Tifa-person. But if she did, she would be glad they were gone, and not her.
[Ed ponders the concept of lava-proof people for a second.]
Ed thinks some people are just magically immune.
Others are just grumps who cannot even stop to realize the danger they are in, a sort of protection by forced ignorance. They do not see it, therefore it cannot exist. Even though Ed went through the trouble of marking off the dangerous lava spots, they just trudge on their merry way. Trudge! Trudge!
no subject
[She shakes her head disparagingly and then looks around the plaza.]
How far does the lava extend anyway?
no subject
It seems to encompass most of the plaza proper, yep yep! Edward did her best to mark the boundaries with her signs. Hopefully they will help save some of them.
no subject
[She taps the coral experimentally with a foot.]
no subject
[Ed scans the nearby area, seeing a large grouping of picnic tables in the distance. Getting there would be the issue. Though if they took a trip on the fountain, the water might just protect them. Plus past the tables they could make it to one of the many cafes dotting the area. That would be really safe.]
Ed has a plan!
[With that she hops up to another part of the coral, before jumping down onto a table with a scrabbling slide.]
no subject
[With a smile, Tifa starts to follow Ed, although if she knows where they're headed, she'd like to avoid stepping on any tables in use or otherwise disturbing passersby.]
