A gathering of the Mirthful

Who: Kurloz and Mituna, then Kurloz and Gamzee

Where: The hotel, then the plaza.
Status: Closed

[Kurloz has been waiting for this chance ever since he got here. Without Meulin present, the only one he can trust is Mituna. He's held off for a few days, since Latula is here, and it wouldn't do to make her suspicious by monopolizing Mituna's time and taking him away from his matesprit.

Some of that time had been spent finding somewhere where the two of them were sure to be uninterrupted. And he'd found the perfect place, the hotel. With that figured out, the only thing he needs to do is find Mituna, and when he does, he makes a little diamond with his fingers, then gestures for his moirail to follow him.]



[Then, later that day, Kurloz is going down to the Plaza to touch the coral. It's become a more constant thing for him than it has been for others, mostly because it makes eating less necessary, and with his mouth the way it is, anything to keep him from slowly starving is appreciated.

Even in a place where trolls are common, Kurloz sticks out, considering his height and his makeup and his clothes. He's keeping an eye on the crowds, himself. He's seen humans before, but they're interesting when there are so many of them.]

[Kurloz shrugs, then just gives a little wave. There's not much point signing when there's a gesture that works just as well!]

Haha, that one's easy.

[He thinks for a moment.]

What about Karkat? How do I say that?

[zipperlips]

[Kurloz tilts his head- that's an interesting request. Karkat's not likely to appreciate that Gamzee can sign his name, after all. But he still demonstrates.]

[Gamzee mirrors him again, getting a little better at picking up the details.

And really, all in all, Karkat is probably not going to give a shit whether or not Gamzee can sign his name, but this whole thing is pretty fun. It has solidly caught his interest, a good way to get to hang and have fun with his... whatever Kurloz is of his, he likes to think new clown buddy at the very least.]

[He's definitely improving at it. Kurloz intends to ask him to show him the signs at random points, to see if he actually manages to keep remembering these things.

Once he's certain that Gamzee's got it reasonably well, he launches into a new set of signs- this time, it's the symbols for "troll."]

What one is that?

[Gamzee peers at his hands, as if he could figure it out somehow.]

[Kurloz gestures at their horns, then at what bits of skin they have showing that isn't covered by paint. It's not the most obvious way to explain the word, but he doesn't want to just go to text immediately. That ruins all the fun!]

Horns? Skin?

[And then, in a moment of what he deems to be extreme cleverness.]

Husk?


[Hey, come on, he put it together, right? Horns + skin = your all. Seems legit.]

[Kurloz shakes his head. It was closer than he was expecting! But still not quite right. He makes another gesture- Gamzee needs to think bigger, so to speak.]

[He frowns a little, concentrating.]

Clown?

[Well, that's what they are. Or maybe... Horns and grey skin, huh...]

Wait, you mean troll?

[zipperlips]

[Kurloz nods. He got it! There may yet be hope for Gamzee's intelligence.]

[God he is such a smartypants.

He frowns for a moment, trying to recall the gestures Kurloz had made, trying to mimic them, his concentration so much on the task at hand (hehe, get it? At hand? God that was a good one) that he doesn't even notice the beeping coming from his pocket.]

[Kurloz does hear it. He doesn't assume that it's his, because there are very few people who would be wanting to contact him. He does, however, take a moment to glance around before he's sure that it's coming from Gamzee's pocket. Once he does, though, he points and gives Gamzee a curious look. What's going on there?]

Huh?

[And then he notices that the side of his butt is making noise. Fishing around in his pocket, he withdraws his SFC, though he is pretty sure already of what it is gonna say. And yep. Just look at that grey texted notifier there.

He holds up his SFC for a moment.]

Sorry, man. Just my palest motherfucker getting his speak on at me, telling me I got some shit what to be handling here now. Maybe we can continue this stuff some other time, yeah?

[zipperlips]

[Kurloz shapes a diamond with his hands, then nods. Gamzee should totally go take care of his palebro, that is the best possible thing to do.

And of course he will follow up with his soon-to-be co-conspirator.]

[Probably a whole lot less like the best thing to do when Kurloz figures out that Karkat is the one keeping Gamzee on the slime, as well as the straight and narrow.]

Cool.

[Here, let him just hold out a fist for a brotacular joining of knuckles.]
