[There are some people who don't mind getting soaked to the skin. There are some people who do mind it. Stein is one of those people who acts a bit like a wet cat, removing his lab coat and shaking it out, carding his hands through his hair and trying to flick out the water, and making an annoyed expression at the general wetness involved in arriving in Vatheon.

This does mean that the tall, scarred man with the metal bolt stuck through his head is not exactly looking where he's going.]

Okay. I'll call Rin and let him know you're coming.

[That's when she walks away a few feet to call and leave a message on Rin's voicemail. Dang, when did Maka get so cagey and borderline mistrustful?? Maybe it has something to do with that weird wavelength that's still there, huh? Hmmm...

She clicks her SFC off a few seconds later and comes back over.]

Our house isn't too far away, but I'd still recommend using those towels anyway!

[...And she's going to start walking.]

[Oh he actually figured that was normal teenager behavior.]

A whole house? How many of you are there?

Me, Kid, Rin, his friends Bon and Shiemi, my friends John and Rose and their siblings Jade and Dave, Night and Father Fujimoto is a recent resident.

That's a big house.

Well, it's handy for when people from our world arrive. Not that people coming from our world is that frequent, but people from Rin's world have.

Oh, hey, here's a house coming up. Technically it's during a curse week, so Maka trots ahead to solve the puzzle lock on the front door before opening it.]

[And there's the boyfriend calling back.]

[As he walks into the house behind Maka, Stein's soul perception reaches out, scrapes against Rin's soul with a heavy-handed invasiveness. He could be subtle about it, learn everything there is about the boy's personality without alerting Rin, but sometimes he likes to scare people.]

[And she'll direct him to follow her to the kitchen, where Rin is.]

Rin's already met you, Professor, but this is Rin Okumura. He's...[hesitance........] my boyfriend, I'm sure you've guessed that already.

[Rin damn near drops the wooden spoon he was holding when he felt that. It was... unnerving, and made his stomach twist.

But he manages to keep his mouth shut about it and turns as they enter.]

Yo. Welcome back, I guess.

And now Stein's got this innocent "I have no idea what I could have possibly said that could be interpreted as anything creepy" expression on his face as he turns to Maka.]

He's a bit like Black☆Star, isn't he?

I don't know, I haven't seen Black☆Star in nearly two years.

[But that doesn't mean she's forgotten him, just...it's weird to her, bringing up people that aren't here.]

He's a lot nicer than him.

[Wow, five minutes in and Rin is already getting pissed enough to yell.]

Oh, I don't know about that. This one seems to have a little bit more of a temper. [Nope, talking to Maka still.]
