[It's that time of the month again, where newcomers arrive in the bubble. This month is no exception, and this time, it looks like Vatheon's troll population is expanding again. This guy isn't the age of any of the current groups, though anyone familiar with Gamzee or the Grand Highblood should be familiar with his horns.

He really does look kind of weird, though. No sign to be seen, clothes with bones on them, weird facepaint and a ton of hair, though the paint is smudged from all the water and his hair is half in his face, as soaked as it is. There's something weird about those black lines across his mouth, too...

Not to mention he's picking people out of the crowd and just staring at them. And staring. And staring.]

[He frowns, but nods. The charades are half the fun, but for the sake of info he will have to make some sacrifices. Hopefully no one will expect him to continue being such a font of generosity in the future.

He also nods to Karkat's guess, and then tilts his head at the mention of others from that team.]

[This should be easier, and his expression lightens for it.]

I'm Karkat Vantas, if you haven't met me. Obviously I haven't met you yet or I wouldn't have to ask who you are. Blame time shenanigans, because there are a metric assload of them here. People can be from before or after your specific point of the timeline, and there's not really anything you can do about it.

And I saw that head tilt, so: the ones I saw called themselves Mituna and Latula.

If you have any questions, go ahead and ask. It's not like I'm unused to giving the info on this place.

[He doesn't seem dangerous or hostile. Weird, yeah, and there is some wariness clinging to him, but he's at least giving this guy a chance.]

[Kurloz nods understanding as Karkat talks about the time points. After dream bubbles and Sgrub it's not that confusing to know about time doing strange things, even if he wasn't the time player himself.

When Karkat mentions Mituna, though, Kurloz smiles. With his mouth like it is, it's impossible for any smile not to be at least a little bit creepy, but this one isn't actively so.]

[Okay. Definitely another clown weirdo, as if the face paint wasn't clue enough, but this means he can deal with him.]

I don't know the details of how it works, but no one stays dead here. People who were dead in their home worlds show up newly revivified, and if for whatever reason you do die here, you revive five days later. Whatever caused the death will be healed, and you go on good as normal in the physical sense.

[Mental effects are a bit harder to scrub clean.]

[Meanwhile, he saw that smile.]

[Yes. Clearly just a weird clown. Nothing else to see here. Even if he's rather irritated by the idea of reviving. It's a blasphemy against a proper double death, is what it is. Clearly something needs to be done about that. He wonders about killing someone to test it, but figures that would draw too much attention.

At the question about his mouth, he just mimes zipping his lips closed. He won't say anything about it. Literally.]

[Figures. But he has no place to pry.]

If you die of malnourishment, you're on your own.

[Fortunately for Karkat, not everyone is as tight-lipped on the subject as Kurloz is. He'll probably get the story eventually.

At the mention of malnourishment, Kurloz just shrugs and shakes his hand dismissively. He's dealt with it before, he can deal with it now.]

[Karkat rolls his eyes and shrugs back. Suit yourself!]

Moving on! I reopen the floor for questions on this place, since obviously you're playing the mime on your own part.

[Well, this interaction is going well. Not trying to force the information out of him gets Karkat points, in Kurloz's mind.

In the meantime, he gestures to his smeary makeup. Is there anywhere he can take care of this?]

[Hey, Gamzee might be his best friend and moirail, but this guy is the Grand Highblood's other self. Just because he's being calm and and agreeable doesn't mean he has room to fully trust a clown devotee he barely knows. Besides, Kurloz wouldn't be the first person with some mystery injury he didn't know the story to.]

[At least the concern for face paint is easy to understand.]

Any of the locals around here will give you towels to dry off, and if you don't have paint of your own in your sylladex, you can get it from one of the stores here. Things are free for foreigners, at least from regular stores. That goes for hives too, once you get to figuring out where you're going to stay.

[That gets raised eyebrows and a thumbs up. Free facepaint, and a place to live? Not bad. He'll have to see if he can find anywhere that's properly secluded, but it's a pretty good deal all the same.

Unfortunately for Karkat, he's not going to go off to try and fix his facepaint just yet. The next thing he does is trace a Capricorn symbol in the air, then gestures to Karkat questioningly. It's the easiest way to ask about Gamzee, especially since Kurloz doesn't wear a sign anywhere on him.]

[Capricorn symbol? There's another thing Karkat has no trouble recognizing. It's also the first time he's realized Kurloz doesn't wear his symbol; all the rest was too distracting.]

You mean Gamzee? He's here, and he has been almost as long as I have. What about him?

[The SFC comes into play again for this bit.]

I'm his moirail, and somehow or another that I still haven't figured out, he was my best friend before that.

[Darn stupid loveable clown idiots. That one anyway.]

[Aww, cute. And clowns are totally lovable, look at all the pale he gets. And look at his former matesprit. He nods and gives a thumbs up. Not like Karkat needs his approval, but it is there.]

[Yeah, it is kind of weird getting approval about it, but it's better than him going all frowny about it. Besides, it opens up a topic he has decided interest in.]

What about you? Have you got a moirail?

[He nods- totally netted himself a moirail. Then he holds his fingers in approximation of Mituna's double horns, since he doesn't exactly have any of the primary colors that could be used to identify his moirail on hand.]

Mituna?

[He saw him on the network earlier. His eyebrows raise. Even if they're decidedly different, he can't help comparing them against Gamzee and Sollux, or (worse yet) the Grand Highblood and Psiioniic.]

I'm not sure what I expected, but if it works for you two, whatever.

[He nods and shapes a diamond with his fingers. Not only his moirail, but his moirail for a long time. Even despite how opposite they ended up in the Alternia.]

[It's hard to get the scope of time from just a gesture, but the diamond at least seems confident enough.]

Then I'm sure you're glad he's here. If you want to get in contact with him, your SFC can help. There's a list of people here on it, so if you find his name, you can send him a message.

[He nods, and takes the time to look through the SFC, pausing on Mituna's name but not sending a message yet. Best thing is probably to try and find him in person.]

[Karkat watches enough to make sure he's got the idea, which he clearly does.]

Need me to tell you anything else? Otherwise I'll let you go get some towels and repaint your face or whatever. I'm hardly the only guide around here anyway.

[He makes a thoughtful gesture, then shrugs and shakes his head. Knowing about the SFC's functions now, he'll probably hit up Karkat at some point if he does.]

Then good luck getting used to this place. You'll probably need it sooner or later. I'm going to...

Fuck, what was I even out here for again?

[He shakes his head, then turns and walks off, muttering to himself. Darn past Karkat not committing this stuff to memory properly.]
