[Some time ago, Cielo had mentioned this thing called flautas and how Gale needed to try some. Cielo had also mentioned that he knew a restaurant in Vatheon that sold them. For free, like most other things in the bubble, of course.

Yukari had also given Cielo and Serph a birthday some time ago: January 23rd. And what better excuse did Serph need for a big Embryon outing in the name of flautas and birthdays?

Which brings us to a "Mexican" (whatever that means) restaurant in Vatheon, where there are at least 8 people at a table (Cielo, Gale, Heat, Rinoa, Sera, Serph, Signless/Sufferer, Tiir) with a ridiculous amount of Mexican food. Some of it is mild, harmless to the sensitive palate. But some of dishes... the spices on those are enough to make you feel like you can breathe fire after a single mouthful. The horrendous table manners of about half the people there leaves much to be desired, however...

The locals, excited at having so much business at once, decide that other people need to taste the delightful flavours of their cuisine. If you're passing by, the threat of locals forcibly dragging you into their restaurant with other poor saps is very real.]



[ooc: TL;DR A general mingle post centered around Mexican food that ranges from mild to spicy as Satan's balls. There is a very high chance your character has been forcibly dragged into the restaurant by pushy locals. WHATEVER COULD GO WRONG!?]

[Suddenly gift bag on the table! It's a deep blue . . . and the tag with his name on it is orange.]

[A present! Cielo immediately forgets about food and takes the bag. What's inside?]

[Inside, Cielo will find a scarf -- blue, a lighter blue than the bag, to go with his hair. There is also a dash of orange on it, predictably. It feels soft to the touch, and warm.

Which of course, is kind of the point.]

It's still winter for a bit longer, so . . .

[Even if it was the scorching heat of summer, Cielo wouldn't be able to resist trying it on immediately.]

[Ahh, it suits him quite well, she thinks! She can't help but feel a little proud of herself -- both for the gift choice and for giving them the birthday in the first place.

They really deserved one.]

[Thank goodness. But Yukari's always been pretty good at picking out gifts that appeal to her friends, so maybe she didn't really have anything to worry about.

Ah well. She looks relieved anyway.]

I've got something for Serph, too. I'll track him down after I try some more of that taco dip.

[Speaking of which -- they ordered some, and it just arrived. Excellent.]

[Cielo moves on to some of the other foods, leaving the taco dip untouched so Yukari can take as much as she wants.]

Hm. The idea of matching presents had been cute at the time, but she can't help but hesitate a little before answering. Hopefully he won't take this the wrong way or anything --

But this is Cielo. So . . .]

The same thing, actually. [light chuckle] His looks different, though. Of course.

[So does that mean Serph's is white or grey with orange? He tries to imagine what it would look like.]

He'll love it.

And with that, she starts to eat the taco dip as planned; though she does notice that Cielo doesn't seem to be touching the stuff. He must've had enough of it earlier.]

Say -- [Whoops, swallowing her food before talking anymore. Don't want to turn into Junpei or something with no manners.] How'd you guys decide on this place, anyway?

It was my idea.

[Does Yukari want to hear the story? Does she?]

[Hell yeah, she does! Do you see this curious face? Do you? She even takes a pause in her eating to listen, looking amused.]

Was it really?

Ja. Sure was.

[And he's going to completely forget about food for the time being.]

Back where we come from, my bro heard about a food called flautas from a scientist. Ever since then I've been looking for an excuse to get him to try some.

[tsundyne]

Ooh . . . flautas, huh?

[Her eyes widen a little. She does resume eating, but casually wonders if any of that stuff is around now, too. There's just so much food that it's a little overwhelming.]

Well, I sure hope it didn't disappoint.

[That wasn't the whole story, but Cielo figures that Yukari doesn't need to know it was the babble of an intimidated scientist that Gale was interrogating...]

It's pretty good if you ask me.

[. . . Yeah, that would just make her raise an eyebrow. She's still eating, but she gives him a nod -- and once she's all done, she grabs a napkin and wipes her hands, giving him a slightly delayed reply.]

Glad to hear it.

[And then she'll take a drink, too, though in the middle of her drinking, she stops abruptly.]

Oh, hey! There's Serph.

[She spots him a few tables away, and grabs onto the other package she has, the one that hasn't been ripped open yet.]

Better give him his gift then.

[Quick, before someone else needs his attention.]

[She's not sure whether to label you #1 or #2! But then she remembers it doesn't really matter.]
