This little one can be found wandering around the city, looking awfully lost. She sniffles to herself as she continues to walk, trying to fight tears. Minute by minute, without any sign of her father or any Galbadian soldiers, she begins to grow more scared. This isn't the city that she knows. And she was underwater somehow??

Was it some kind of magical place? She'd only heard about them in the stories her mother used to read to her. But Dad always said they were just pretend, they weren't real. So how was she in one now?

Increasingly confused and terrified, Rinoa finally climbs onto a bench and begins to cry, wishing her mother - or even her father - was here to take her home.

He really did not know where he was going anymore. He knew the name of the place and he'd been told how he'd gotten there..but everything seemed a little too crazy beyond that. Crazy enough, he didn't want to think about it.

The sound of crying pulled him from his thoughts and his eyes landed on a small girl on a bench, alone. Without another thought, he strode over and knelt before the bench, hoping the lessened height would also lessen the fear of being approached.

He offered the girl a small, kind, smile and held out a hand to her. "Fair maiden, why are you crying? Are your parents not around?"

Bitty Denzel was scurrying all over the Bubble so many people to try to help after all. In his bellbottom jeans and wick shirt he makes tracks with a plate of cookies still in his hands. After all that is the best comfort food and if anything, keeping himself distracted will keep his mind off wondering just where his Fairy Godparents. Was that and he did like to help, very much so.

Up ahead, Denzel spots a rather lonely looking girl and approaches her, "Like hello." With a friendly face, "Like what's wrong, you know."

Another crying child. It tugs at her heart, but it's not surprising there are so many around. It's hard enough on adults being suddenly dropped into Vatheon, but to have the same experience again as a little kid... Tifa's glad she's still herself.

She eases herself down onto the other end of the bench so as not to startle the girl, whom she thinks she recognizes. "Rinoa?" she asks gently.

Rinoa's shoulders stiffen when a shadow falls over here, albeit for only a brief moment. When she sees an adult kneel in front of her, she wipes away her tears and looks up at him.

"Huh? I'm Rinoa. And... I don't know where my dad is. This isn't where I live."

She sniffles again, trying to keep her mouth from trembling. "I dunno where I am, mister. And there aren't any Galbadian soldiers around so I don't think I'm close to home."

Sniffing back some tears and snot from the crying, Rinoa looks up at the boy. "I dunno where my dad or my house is. And I'm lost."

Upon hearing her name, Rinoa glances over at the woman, confusion replacing the fear for just a moment.

"Huh? How do you know me?"

"I'm a friend. My name is Tifa."

It's probably best to wait until Rinoa's a bit calmer to try explaining the whole curse thing. If she should even try to explain it.

He gives her a look of sympathy and reaches out to pat her shoulder. "Do not fear, Miss Rinoa. This is not my home either, nor can I find any of my friends...so I will stay with you, if you would like. Perhaps we can find something familiar together."

He reached out again, this time to wipe away her tears. "Such a lovely young lady should not have need to cry; if you will allow me, I will protect you."

"A... friend?"

Tifa's really pretty, so Rinoa is sure she would have remembered her from somewhere. She tilts her head curiously, sniffling a little.

"Do you know my dad or somethin'?"

"...Really? You're lost, too?"

It's a little comforting to know she's not alone in that. He might be a stranger, and she knows she's not supposed to talk to them, but he seems very nice.

"I... I don't know. If my dad finds me walking with a stranger, he might get mad. I don't want you to get in trouble."

He stands, smiling a larger smile than he might normally, children always seemed to respond to smiles better.

"And perhaps he would be, yet I am certain he would be more mad should anything happen to you."

He bowed to her, smile still in place. "And I would not be fulfilling my duties as Captain of my kingdom's knights were I to allow harm to a lady."

"Something like that." She knows of Rinoa's dad... a little bit. Mostly she just knows they had a falling out.

"He can't be here right now, but I can keep you company if you like."

[crackpotcrocker]

Denzel offers her a cookie, "We can be lost together." Giving a ressuring smile that they will be just fine.

"Wait, you're a soldier?"

Oh. Well, her dad did say to trust soldiers. He's not wearing a uniform, but maybe he's off duty or something. And surely any soldier is a good person, right? He seems too nice not to be!

"Okay. Mommy and Dad always said to trust them."

[sorcery_fledgling]

"Oh. He's working again, huh."

She sighs and looks down at the ground, looking even more depressed.

"I... guess so, if he asked."

[sorcery_fledgling]

She takes it, looking down at it before looking back at Denzel. "Really? You're lost, too?"

[fightforastar]

"Hey. I'm sure he'd much rather be here with you. And you'll see him once you get home again."

[sorcery_fledgling]

"Mm, maybe. I dunno. He just works a lot now and drinks a lot of wine."

[fightforastar]

"You will." It just wouldn't be as a little girl, and one of them would have to make the decision to reconcile. "But for now we'll just have to hang in there together, okay?"

Well, at least this is one curse that Selphie has managed to escape. But she's seen this one before, and she knows that it can be weird, but quite fun.

She spies an iccle Rinny sitting on a bench and smiles - see? This curse could be cute! But then she realises that Rinoa is crying, and Selphie rushes over to stand in front of her.

"Hello, Princess. Are you okay?"

After a fairly odd encounter with a twenty-something Johnny, Sola was fairly certain he could handle anything else the bubble could throw at him. Crying children had become the norm for today, but even so the Hylian still approaches the little girl on the bench carefully.

"Are you lost, little girl? Don't worry, everything's going to be alright." He keeps his voice soft and gentle but doesn't get too close, not until she shows a sign of wanting him to. He's already gotten at least weird looks thanks to his ears, he doesn't want to scare her more.

[Asato is not surprised anymore by all those mini versions of the Vatheon's residents running around, they are all quite cute in fact. He smiles when he sees them, gladly helping when they need to go back home and are lost.

But this crying little girl looks awfully familiar to him and this is why he is now kneeling in front of her, a gentle and worried smile on his lips.]

Rinoa, is that you ?

[Well now, this is weird. An adult who recognizes her, but she doesn't recognize him. Sniffling, she nods, although is quite confused as she says:]

Who are you? Do you work with my dad?

She's seen some funny looking adults around this place, but Sola is definitely one of the stranger ones. It's weird how pale he is, and his eyes are a little scary, and yeah, the ears are weird. But he seems nice.

"Yeah. I wanna go home." Where her home is, though, is beyond her. This isn't even the same city.

Stubbornly trying to wipe away her tears, Rinoa looks up at Selphie and shakes her head.

"I dunno where my dad is, or my house."
