[That isn't him absentmindedly tearing apart his bread. He's just. Torn. On what to pick up next. Yeah.]
Perhaps next time you could visit. Possibly.

Last time I was there, I was attacked by a figment of my own imagination.
I mean if you get that all sorted out, I suppose I could pop on over...
[She laughs and tears off a next chunk of the bread. She was really starting to get a liking of this stuff.]
No, but in all seriousness, I would love to. It has been awhile since I have been over there.

[He really is falling for it, sincerely worried. After all, that had not been a particularly pleasant curse to go through. Even he had been somewhat twitchy after it. When he realizes she had been playing with him, Darkleer ducks his head down and becomes extremely involved in his drink.]
Oh. Lovely, then. Ah, could you... come through my room window?
no subject
Wait... your window?
no subject
...Or Equius.
[For. Y'know. Reasons.]
no subject
[A laugh.]
Wellll... You know they will find out eventually.

[She pauses, because she knows exactly how. That daughter of hers is especially wily when it comes to matters of the wall.]
Nevermind... It is Nepeta we are talking about.
Well, the children here have not gone through the massive amounts of heartache and turmoil that we have had to endure. So it took a lot longer to find each other; So what? We have each other now, and that is the important part, I would say.
no subject
[Darn those Heart players.]
Yes... It is. [He manages to subdue his embarrassment for the moment.] I kept telling Equius I was going to refuse you, you know.
no subject
[Oh, oh no. What if she somehow already knew about the thing that happened with Dualscar?! She needed to have a very carefully-worded conversation with her to see.]
Oh, which is why I imagine he decided to call me, then. He just happened to make the call hours after our 'little talk'. He really does care a lot about you.
no subject
[He'll get to his heart touching parental feelings after he finishes facepalming, no worries.]
no subject
He was just worried about you. It was rather cute, really.
He already knew of my pale feelings because of a talk with you, and sort of blindsided me with it. Even better, In the same 'breath' admonished my intoxication and told me I better not introduce such behaviors to Nepeta and you. He really does care a lot for the two of you.

He's quite the young troll... I'm glad I got the chance to meet him.
no subject
[She fixes him with quite a vivid smile.]
I so I went on to assure him everything was okay, and even let him know we had entered into a moirallegiance. He seemed quite overjoyed.
no subject
[He gives his own quiet smile back, no less painfully sincere.]
That's a relief, then. Speaking of descendents, how have you and Nepeta been?
no subject
[Her one great fear, other then losing control of herself again.]
Oh, Nepeta is as darling as ever. The two kittens we got have been really making us happy. I am really glad I went through with getting them.
It has been a little while since we have done something special though... maybe I will finally take her hunting like she has wanted.
no subject
[That's not a tinge of desperation in his voice. Let's move onto this much nicer topic.]
That sounds nice. Perhaps you can test the claws I made for you, if you haven't already.
no subject
[Probably for the best.]
Yes, I have been meaning to give them a test run. Having her along will help too. Game is more scarce during the winter. Having two will make everything simpler. It has been awhile since I hunted with anything other then my bare hands, it should prove interesting.

[He goes back to tearing little strips of bread for himself.]

[She joins him in returning to the meal, this Ethiopian was not going to eat itself, now.]
no subject
[He's a vegetarian for a reason.]
no subject
[Which she can sympathize with. Even if she did not share the same viewpoint.]
I will leave out the more visceral details.
