Deck the halls?

[For the first week of the month, Cielo was asleep, deep in one of Vatheon's famous sleep comas. It was pretty disorienting to find out you've been unconscious for a week. Especially when you're used to sleeping just a few hours at a time. But he's since moved on from that.

It started when a local asked him for help hanging some Christmas lights on top of a building, a task easily accomplished when your demon has wings. And then another one wanted help. And then another. Suddenly, Cielo found himself as a one demon decorator. The locals started piling decorations on him and sent him on his way.

So right now there is a colorful winged demon loaded up with decorations flying around the bubble, decorating trees and buildings. He has various ornaments (many of them sea themed), garlands, strands of lights, and other decorations clutched with his feet and delicately in his jaws, being careful not to drop any of them as he flies around and sets them up according to instructions.

...one of the locals has even put a wreath around his neck. It looks rather silly.]

[Ohh. Yes, in hindsight that actually makes a lot more sense. It does look really scratchy prickly and annoying, though -- she agrees.]

Ah. So you're taking it somewhere . . . [Argilla looks around. There certainly are a lot of buildings around.] Which building should you put it on?

[rainbowarch]

[He points out a particularly tall one with his head.]

That one. It's going to go over the doorway.

[teradine]

[The doorway, huh . . . Argilla's gaze follows his and then she gives a nod.]

I'll come with you.

[Maybe she can help. : |b]

[rainbowarch]

[Aww yis Argilla, we can be an unstoppable team!]

Climb aboard then!

[He leans over so she can do just that]

[teradine]

[All aboard Flight Cielo/Dyaus. It's a wonder she doesn't do this more often, tbh! So she does as he says, and holds on tight to brace herself.

Maybe she should be helping you carry some of these decoration things though, bro . . .]

[He lifts off much more slowly than he usually does. He's carrying some fragile items here!

Argilla is free to grab anything. It would make things easier for him.]

[teradine]

[She thinks about it, but it's not until some ornaments almost fall off that she's really moved to act, and quickly. She grabs one of the baskets and keeps a close eye on the other one, should it or any of the ornaments threaten to fall the same way.

Soon, they arrive at the tall building indicated earlier. The doorway does look oddly empty . . .]

[Yes, that's the one!]

The only thing they told me is that the wreath has to go over the door, ja? We can do whatever else we think looks good.

[teradine]

[Well clearly they should worry about the things they're a hundred percent sure about first. So after hearing what Cielo has to say, Argilla removes the wreath from around Cielo's neck.

. . . Hmm.]

Like this?

[. . . And onto the door it goes. Looks like there was a nail there all ready to hang it and everything.]

[rainbowarch]

[He nods. Even though he can't see it, he can tell where Argilla put it.]

Ja, ja. Just like that. Want to put anything else up?

[teradine]

. . . I'm not entirely sure. What else is in here?

[And at that prompting, Argilla's going to gently start raiding through the basket of ornaments and things. She's seen some of this stuff hung up already -- Christmas lights and the like, though there are a handful that look like they belong on trees.

Not that she knows that . . .]

Well, there are bows we can tie onto lamps. And the long string of planty-things are called garlands. You just string them up over the doorframe or something.

[teradine]

[Planty . . . things . . .

Nope. Nope. Nope, those are a long string of lights, but they're not "planty" . . .

Aha! Triumphantly, Argilla holds up a garland that she's dug out of the basket and smiles.]

It looks like there are a few.

[Enough for a few more doors! So she places the one over the door frame, which now has both it and the wreath. Definitely much livelier than before!]

You can do the next one.

[. . . They'll need more wreaths, though.]

[As if he could read Argilla's mind, Cielo goes to acquire another wreath from a pile of decorations the locals have very helpfully set up for him. Except it's not really helpful at all because all of the durable stuff is underneath the highly breakable ornaments. After some box shifting, he takes a wreath in his mouth and makes his way to a door flanked on both sides by columns. He places the wreath on the door.]

Let's put the lights around the columns, ja?

[teradine]

[Argilla follows him. And even though she's not capable of flight, she doesn't see why she can't grab a wreath too, so she does just that, planning to hold onto it until they get to their next door.

Cielo's got this one though; and before that, there's the columns. So she nods and places the wreath down for now, digging through the boxes for the lights.]

It'll need a power source in order to light up.

[And she starts wrapping the string of lights around the column. Surely there's a place to plug it in, anyways.]

[rainbowarch]

[From experience, Cielo knows there's usually an electrical outlet nearby, so he reverts to his human form to find it faster.]

Here!

[He takes the end with the plug and puts it in.]

[teradine]

[Wha --

Oh. Well, he didn't have to revert, she could've found it. But since he already has, Argilla just nods, smiling a little.]

Perfect.

And . . . how many buildings do we have to do this for?

[rainbowarch]

Just one more.

[Cielo gestures down to the last house. He was given this block and had done most of it himself.]

[teradine]

All right.

[She's got the last wreath all ready for the final house on the block, then; so she picks it back up once they're all done with those lights, and with her other hand, she'll help carry the decorations over.

There should be just enough.]

[Working together, the two of them dress up the doorway nicely and once they're done, Cielo comes up with an idea.]

Want to walk down the street and look at all the houses?

[teradine]

. . . Ah. Admiration of our own hard work?

[She looks a little amused, but nods.]

I'd love to.

[rainbowarch]

[Clearly thrilled she said yes, Cielo offers Argilla his hand. Let's go!]

[teradine]

[Argilla takes his hand easily, eager to see the results -- and just what about these lights is so great. Even though she doesn't say anything, her expression suggests that perhaps seeing these decorations with her comrade is enough.

It was worth it.]
