[GV] - 6 - Festive

Golden Victory isn't about to go two months without a proper change in decor! Their fearless leader hasn't seemed to be in the best of spirits (falling into a coma can do that to a guy), so things aren't quite as extravagant as normal. Instead of playful, things seem a bit more ambient - warm golden lights, rich red tablecloths, holly, garland, maybe even a sprig of mistletoe here and there for the mischievous heart that may wander. And... well, it's a bit of a mystery how they managed to get it through the front door, but there's a well-lit tree taking up one corner of the main floor.

Per usual the rules and employee roster are posted near the door. It seems a bit quieter around here than usual.

Hosts:
Angelo
Asbel Lhant
Duke Pantarei
Fai D. Flourite (assistant chef and appointments)
Guy Cecil (bartender)
Ioder
Jade Curtiss (bartender)
Malik Caesar (bartender)
Peony Malkuth IX
Rin Okumura (chef)
Serph
Sora and Roxas
Zelos Wilder (Only takes appointments with women.)
Please note that some hosts may be unavailable due to coma.

The staff are free to their normal wardrobes this month... well, for the most part. Red, white, green and gold seem to be all over the place, encouraging to fit in with the Christmas spirit. There may even be some fur or a little more ~*sparkle*~ than the hosts might be used to. A certain emperor may have taken the liberty of making sure there's at least one spectacular outfit front and center for them to wear.

[She nods while listening. It sounds very similar to the incantations magi learn to use.]

For us, the incantation changes from user to user, too. I think it's just a way for people to connect with the world around them. The larger the field of effect for the change they want to impose onto the world, the more preparation is needed. That's why incantations for big spells get really long. Though I haven't really had to use them, so that's just all theory.

[She sips the tea gently, as befitting a lady. It is indeed a little bit bitter, but at least there's a very nice smell of spices that washes over the temporary taste, so her face of slight discomfort only stays on her face for a second before being replaced by a smile.]

The tea is delicious.

Similar again; although it may be more of a case of complexity of result and what one needs to protect it from that increases the length...

[ He doesn't really smile back - its more of a tilt of his head that might suggest a smile. ]

Good. Will admit that picked it simply on scent.
livingvessel: (sooooo what about you?)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-17 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
It's really good! Thank you very much.

[Ilya wraps a hand around the cup while holding the handle with the other, continuing to sip. She still gets the bitter taste from it, but as she sips she finds herself minding it less and less. It's not Japanese tea, at least - she learned that she really doesn't like Japanese tea at all.

It's only now that she gets a better look at his attire. The hood blanket thing looks rather festive, along with the rest of the room... although it doesn't look like a piece of attire Duke normally dons.]

So... do you work here, Duke? Or are you here just to socialize, too?
radiantwingedone: (I need not answer that)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-17 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
[ It sort of matches the red that he wears, but obviously the white doesn't fit in so much. Or the little bells stitched in. ]

... perhaps.. a mix of both. I am not adept at socializing on my own, thus this place... gives a bit of an aid.

[ But Zelos really wanted him here to put on costumes. Duke doesn't know that yet. ]
livingvessel: (thinking)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-17 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
[She nods slowly. She takes Serph's definition of a host club word for word, so she's not really sure what kind of jobs people would have here if it's just a place to socialize. Would there be maids or butlers? There do appear to be some people making drinks at a bar table...]

What's your job here, then? It doesn't look like you're that busy.

[Or maybe he's the resident decorator. He was working with those lights when she first came up to him, after all.]
radiantwingedone: (Default)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-17 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
... I evict troublemakers..

[ But mostly Zelos has him sit over here and look pretty. Very few people actually talk to him. ]

And talk to people, if they wish to.
livingvessel: (approval)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-17 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, so this is like your job? This stuff right now?

[She tilts her head slightly to accentuate the question.]

That sounds pretty easy! You just have to talk to people, right?

[Not like she thinks she needs a job at all, considering that she's learned that practically everything is free in Vatheon... but just talking to people as a job appears simple enough.]
radiantwingedone: (Focus)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-17 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
I suspect it is easier for those who have not spent a decade away from people... but it is not a particularly hard job, as jobs go.

[ And it keeps him from sitting around and doing nothing. ]

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-17 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
[If only Duke knew how Ilya spent her last ten years... but she doesn't say anything about it. Those were not ten years she would like to recall.]

Do you need a job? I don't know what kind of job I would get...
radiantwingedone: (Default)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-17 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
It is not necessary. Owner is one who lives in same hows as I, thus... [ And Duke kinda killed him once. He kinda-sorta feels bad about that. Only not really bad...

But if she chooses to read that as "it would be hard to avoid him if I said no", then thats okay with him.
]

Depends on what interests are.
livingvessel: (Default)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-17 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, so Duke is doing this job more as a favour to his housemate. Ilya nods understandingly.]

Hm, I don't really have any interests except for talking with other people sometimes. Is that a bad thing?

[Magecraft isn't really an interest of hers, per se, just something she's good at.]
radiantwingedone: (Default)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-17 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
No.

[ He only rarely seeks people out to talk to them, really. This place made it easier for people to find him if they wanted to talk. ]

If like books, and is during a time when talking is not an interest, there is a library. Will admit that do not know most of the places that hire around here...

[ He didn't go job hunting, after all. ]
livingvessel: (approval)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-20 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
[So a job isn't really necessary, then? Well, that's okay too. Ilya's priority is to keep herself trained as a magus of Einzbern. Even if she doesn't carry her memories of Vatheon back to her world, she doesn't want her abilities to suffer when - or if - she returns.

She hums casually at the thought of a library. All she knows is that libraries are huge collections of books, and she's not exactly someone who likes books...]

That's okay. I guess some people get by without jobs, so I can do that too.

[And... well, probably no one expects a small girl to be working a job, anyway.]

It is only for ease of gaining items from own or other worlds - the world-specific things.
livingvessel: (thinking)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-22 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
[She tilts her head, slightly confused.]

World-specific?
radiantwingedone: (Default)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-22 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Give him a moment to think- ]

Where I am from, there are items that are like.. candies, that are chewy and sweet, that are used for healing. Cannot buy them elsewhere but in a location known as Nostalgia Nook, as they come from my world. [ And Zelos's world. and Malik's world... ]

Having a job would allow you to buy them.
livingvessel: (Default)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-24 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
[That sounds handy, but Ilya doesn't really know if she wants or needs anything from her home. The only thing of real importance is the Dress of Heaven, and she woud rather have nothing to do with that piece of clothing.

Although these candy things sound interesting.]

So having a job lets you buy these things...

[Nah, she's really just curious about the candies.]

What do the candies taste like?
radiantwingedone: (Focus)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-24 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Apple and lemon heal physical injuries, orange and pineapple replenish held-magic, if one is too tired to do it on their own or need it quickly. Melange, a sort of ... spice tasting one, heals both physical and mental on the level of apple and orange. Miracle tastes different to each, healing on level of lemon and pineapple. Treat tastes of grapes, and I cannot recall what specific or special taste of. Lottery... tastes of a combination of all the above.
livingvessel: (ah?)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-24 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
[She listens carefully, wondering just how they all work, when she hears Duke talk about the lottery ones.]

All of them together? That doesn't sound very good-tasting.

[Ilya takes a sip from her teacup. She tries to imagine different kinds of tea together - that, too, doesn't seem very delicious.]
radiantwingedone: (Default)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-24 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
It is not; Lottery is a ... chance-taking gel - the name for the candy. It is cheaper than all the others, with a chance of an effect of the most expensive - or it may simply barely heal a papercut.
livingvessel: (sooooo what about you?)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-26 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that's not that helpful.

[Still, she does want to try one, if only to see how it works... it sounds a bit like the jewels the Tohsaka use to store prana, except they're edible.]

So how much is a gel here? Are they expensive?

[She's not really quite willing to work for one, though.]
radiantwingedone: (Default)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-27 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
True.

[ Its for the people who don't really care. ]

... Not terribly.
livingvessel: (thinking)

[personal profile] livingvessel 2012-12-28 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Why would people ever settle for things that are less than the best? Well, to each their own...]

What do you use them for here, then?

[She doesn't imagine that people get into fights here that often.]

Do you do a lot of casting?
radiantwingedone: (Default)

[personal profile] radiantwingedone 2012-12-29 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
... Nothing much. Perhaps price is a reflection of cost from original world.

... Not as often as... making, of spells, or learning of new types. Still expends..
