[OPEN] Unfinished Battle
Who: Shulk and YOU
When: Night of the 22nd
Where: The Plaza
Status: SO VERY OPEN!
[It sure is a nice evening in Vatheon, isn't it? Nice. Quiet. Peaceful. Maybe you're just looking for a relaxing night after that foreigner hosted Thanksgiving party.
Well, if you happen to be in the Plaza, you'll be treated to a young man with a beam sword suddenly appearing out of thin air (soaked), right in the middle of a lunging stab and screaming at the top of his lungs--]
DIE!
[ooc: p.s. it's perfectly fine to be in the line of Shulk's attack; his beam sword can't hurt people and will pass harmlessly through them. Shulk, on the other hand, is perfectly capable of crashing headlong into people.]

There was a dead silence as she walk and suddenly, a loud shouting caught her attention and a beam of light found its way to her. Fina made a sudden shriek, pulling her arms closer to her chest to brace for the impact of whatever it was. After a moment, she felt it move through her with relative ease, she felt nothing but a brush of air.
Opening her green eyes, she looked at the young man and tilted her head. "Why did you do that?"

But when the metal faced Mechon suddenly became a woman before his eyes, the anger gave way to confusion.
"What?" Frustration. And a dim realisation in the back of his mind that he was soaking wet. "I don't..."
But that wasn't his most pressing concern.
"Where is that faced Mechon?" He was tired. Exhausted. Aching. His breathing was heavy. But he was still angry.
no subject
That's what she said.Pausing, Luffy finally fell back and hit his head on the ground before springing up and gawking, his eyes lighting up.]
B-B-B-Beam sword!?
no subject
Shulk's sword's already in you, mate.Shulk is just as stunned, though for a completely different reason. He'd been intent on hurting that faced Mechon, intent on making it pay. But it hadn't been a Mechon he'd struck.Shulk is much slower to get to his feet; he's tired, exhausted. He isn't really a fighter to begin with, but he's been fighting since nightfall.]
I... Where...?
[No. No. This is wrong.]
Where did the Mechon go?
no subject
Rather, Luffy wasn't really focusing on the guy's words. He was eying that sword like a hungry cat.]
Mechon? [He repeated after him, clearly not exactly paying strict attention.]
Hey, where do you get a beam sword? I don't have any money.
no subject
He tries to think through things, but all a part of him wants is to scream. But because there's a person here who doesn't know what just happened -- it's not fair to lash out at him -- Shulk holds back his frustration, but he can't keep the irritation from his voice.]
The Monado isn't something you can buy.
[Reluctantly, he deactivates the Monado, the beam disappearing as the sword shifts back into its grounded state. He looks away.]
Sorry. For crashing into you.
[He's not as apologetic as he normally would be; he's too bitter right now.]

She looks surprised-- maybe even scared for a moment, but then, she just lets out a sigh. Is it out of relief? It shouldn't be, considering the sword is still very much in her face.
But maybe . . .]
. . . No thanks.
[. . . Yeah. Dying? Not on the agenda today.]
no subject
He doesn't yell at her, but there's definitely a lot of bottled up rage lining his voice right now.]
What have you done with the faced Mechon?
no subject
[His sword being out of her face is a start, but the anger and rage he seems to be bottling up doesn't escape her. She recognizes it, which only raises the annoyance in her own voice, but in all honesty, she's dealt with worse.]
I haven't done anything yet.
[But she will if he insists on picking a fight. Judging by the state of his clothes, though, he's new -- so she simply observes and watches him carefully.]
no subject
I...
[He's breathing pretty heavily. He's tired, exhausted, upset and still full of raw hurt. Shulk looks to the ground, the Monado deactivating.]
Sorry.
[It's not fair for him to lash out at her.]

how do you even transcribe shulk's incoherent shouty noises anyway!?

/making the best first impressions since 1999
thank god for everyonebut he is nearby and his first reaction is to release his magneton and reach for the sword across his back.] The fuck??![While he hasn't drawn the sword, the pokemon's moved forward and is sparking a bit. If that sword is metal, too, chances are the magneton will attract it.
if that happens Silver will give it back. Eventually.]no subject
The anger that had been directed at the faced Mechon turns to the new adversary. He's confused about the disappearance of the faced Mechon, but he's just so angry that anything outside his rage is not registering properly. Is that a new kind of Mechon? Magneton looks like a machine to Shulk, and the fact that the Mechon assault on his hometown had new Mechon he's never seen before makes this new machine look suspiciously like a Mechon.
Shulk's so fixated on hurting the new Mechon in place of the faced on that he doesn't notice Silver when he swings the Monado at Magneton with a incoherent yell.]
no subject
Arceus on a pogostick, he really wasn't expecting the newcomer to take a swing at his pokemon, but so be it. His eyes narrowed and while he drew his sword, he hung back, free hand gesturing to his pokemon to ready a thunder wave.] Tch, Looking for a fight? Fine.
no subject
He's about ready to attack again when, in his mind, time slows down and-- -- he sees himself running forward and the Mechon fires a ball of paralysing electricity at him. There's a Homs behind it with a sword, but he doesn't take the opportunity to attack the Mechon -- --the vision snaps him out of his rage. His attention goes to the person next to what Shulk had thought was a Mechon. A Homs, working with Mechon? But why? Unless...
Shulk's already within swinging range (the Monado has a really long beam, after all) but after he dodges the electric discharge -- he puts what little remaining energy into avoiding it -- Shulk doesn't attack, backing off instead. The sword is still in his hands though. Warily--]
Are you working with the Mechon?

Still, it is a rather surprising thing to get run through with a sword again when walking home from that Thanksgiving party, and more surprising still to remain completely unharmed. He even manages to keep his balance from the boy crashing into him. Huh. People usually let him speak before trying to kill him. Even Zelos had at least waited until he'd gotten a full sentence out.]
...Hello.
no subject
He's tired and the faced Mechon is gone.
All the Mechon are gone. Shulk lifts his head to look at the Homs that's standing in the place of the faced Mechon.]
What...?
[The confusion in his voice is quickly replaced by barely contained anger. He's not thinking straight -- something he's dimly aware of -- but all he can think about right now is making the Mechon pay.]
Where did the Mechon go?
no subject
...I'm afraid your "Mechon" has not gone anywhere; you have.
no subject
How...?
[His breathing's heavy and his shoulders are slumping. Everything about his body language screams exhaustion.]
Where am I?
[It's only now that Shulk's aware he's wet and an involuntary shiver runs through his body.]

What the--?!
[He glares at the other, ready to fight him if he has to! Good thing that Libertà always carries his sword around
well, he is in the defense force. The fact that the other appeared out of nowhere and is soaked completely escapes Libertà's attention.]
no subject
What--?
[Shulk's breathing heavily; he's tired, exhausted. But the sword, the Monado, is still in his hands as he stares at this stranger. There's frustration in his voice.]
What happened to the faced Mechon?
no subject
What happened to what?
[He honestly doesn't know what the other is talking about.]
no subject
...It's really not here.
[No... He's been robbed of his vengeance. He can't make that faced Mechon pay for what it did. He just wants to scream...]
No!
[But when he's done, Shulk looks to the ground, breathing heavily, while the sword deactivates, light disappearing from it as the parts of the blade shift back to its original form. SORRY LIBERTA, SHULK IS HAVING A MOMENT.]

Shulk's landing is clumsy but he does manage to keep himself steady on his feet. The Monado is still active and his stance is wary.]
You can talk?!
