20 - Bandido
who: Duke and anyone
where: stores, library, island elevator - Zelda's house locked to Zelda's household
when: Wed 11/14 (evening)
what: Duke tried to cheer himself up by sitting in the sun. It didn't work out for him.
[ style ]
[ Nice sunny days are supposed to be good for cheering people up, right? Right.
This may be why Duke is a rather uncomfortable shade of lobster red when he makes his escape from the island. Guess who lost track of time and ignored that burning sensation? This guy. So much for a better mood, he's getting close to miserable. Sunburns are nasty.
He's going to spend some time hiding in the library, looking through other ways to deal with sunburns - and quite possibly getting distracted by other books while he's there - then heading off to stores to see if there was anything pre-packaged to deal with his burns.
He'll return to Zelda's house with his burn when it gets dark, though. Because dark means cold and while its kinda nice, given the heat he probably is giving off right now, he'd rather not let that cold sink in. ]

Duke looks. Uh. Different.
It's been a while since he's spoken to his neighbour, so Serph approaches, a stack of books in one arm.]
Duke.
[He nods in greeting.]
Are you well?
no subject
But he'll somewhat gingerly take a book out - his hands are somewhat red too and look. He's trying to find medical things... ]
... Somewhat... will be worse, later.
no subject
Have you been to the clinic?

The resources are available.
[No need to stinge, man! Serph's gaze goes to Duke's hands.]
This is hampering your movements. Should there be an attack on Vatheon, you will be less able to respond.

Dear God, what happened to you?

That's a plus, right? ]
.. thought... good weather could improve mood... [ Instead, he got a sunburn. ]
no subject
Well, it is true that sunny weather can improve your mood, but your skin seems to be very sensitive.

[It's likely the first thing Duke hears upon returning to Ordo, even before he's fully through the door. Ruining fair skin like Duke's is just a total crime!]
You're how old? Don't you know better than to go out in the sun? Honestly! C'mere.
[No ifs, ands, or buts about it; Zelos promptly drags Duke to the bathroom and sits him down, beginning to pull a mess of lotions from the medicine cabinet shelves while muttering quietly.]
Aloe, aloe...
no subject
... Thought... fair weather and sun were supposed to help moods...
[ He'll just... sit here then. Aloe sounds familiar, but it hadn't gotten found with the time he spent in the library... ]
no subject
[Honestly he has a hard time telling most of Duke's moods. The man is so taciturn it even throws Zelos' people skills off. Granted, Duke's almost more house cat than person for how he acts.]
Ah! Here we go.
[He hands Duke the vibrant green bottle with a label proclaiming it to be pure aloe vera gel (enriched with vitamin e!)]
no subject
He's still in a not-good mood about it.
Ah. But bottle. Duke will turn this about, looking for directions. ]
... How much should use? Not visible when rub in?
[ Although a slight grimace at 'rub in', because any sort of rubbing is not fun with sunburns. ]
no subject
[He leans against the sink.]
Don't let the curses get you too down; that's just what the scientists want, right?

All of them are related to gardening somehow.]

... Not medical. Hrmn.
... but he hasn't read this one yet... ]
no subject
Hello.
no subject
Apologies for interrupting. Simply have not read this one...
no subject
Oh, um, no interruption. I'm sorry for keeping it from you. [He leans forward on his knees to hand the book to Duke. Normally he'd leave it at that, but for once he can offer some advice if this stranger has sunburn as he suspects.]
Have you been out on the island?

Duke! Goodness, you're all red... is there any blistering anywhere? Let's get some lotion on that.
no subject
I ... don't.. know. [ He just noticed the burning he could see without a mirror, and then the burns where he couldn't see them let him know they were there. ]
no subject
[Zelda takes hold of his wrist and heads for the bathroom. She's noticed now, and there's no getting away from it. At least she has a gentle touch.]
no subject
He'll just sit here, mildly embarrassed that he was caught with the obvious proof he had tried something a bit.. stupid, for him. ]
no subject
Somehow, "take off your top" is still hard to say to Duke.]
