Who: Laharl and his future vassals YOU
Where: Exiting the Library
When: Midday
Style: I'll match~
Status: Open!
After just two weeks in this place, Laharl is homesick. Not that he would ever use the word, but he misses his Netherworld--his castle, his coffin, his vassals (well, ordering them around)... He ought to be there right now, enjoying his newly cemented position.
Hitting the books wouldn't normally be on his list of options, but unfortunately there's no obvious leader here to beat up. Creating dimensional portals is something his gatekeeper does every day, surely an Overlord won't have any trouble learning it. The primary obstacle to this plan is the lack of a teacher or, as it turns out, any books he can find on the subject.
The pint-sized demon is in a foul mood as he exits the library. The bookshelves where he had been working barely survived (although he left a real mess), and he'd really like to destroy something or someone more worth his while.
If he seems to be looking for a fight, it's because he is.

"Um, you're a little different from the demons I..." he paused not sure what word should he use. "...have seen before."

"Well you, um... don't have horns." And you're smaller than any demon he had seen before.

But then his expression turned more smug. "Exactly. Far stronger than anyone here, including you."
no subject
"...How can you be so sure about that?" he then quickly added: "I-I mean, I don't doubt your strength, but... there are a lot of powerful people here..."
no subject
"Hmph. It must be hard for a spineless little worm like you to comprehend this kind of certainty. I'm Overlord. My strength is unparallelled."
no subject
"You, too?" he didn't even mean to say that out loud. He quickly explained: "I-I mean, I used to... know one Overlord."
Know sounded like a good enough word.

"No. I don't think anyone could defeat him in battle..."

Ruca sighed.
"The world he lived in no longer exists and... almost everyone that lived there died along with it."

Laharl considered this for a moment and then offered the incredibly sympathetic remark: "Sucks for him."
no subject
"I need to go." he said and tried to leave again.

Still, that spark of anger in Ruca's expression made Laharl smirk. Not completely spineless, maybe.
"I'll find you again later when I need work done," he replied with a dismissive wave.

On his way home he sighed and his shoulders dropped. It felt like he got himself in a lot of trouble this time.
