Birthday Party!

When: Tuesday, starts out in the evening and lasts until late at night.
Where: The Island, at the beach.

[Tidus had planned on throwing Roxas' party on his actual birthday. Then, stuff happened. Then other stuff. Now, finally, Roxas' very late "surprise" birthday party is being thrown. Telling Roxas that he just wants to hang out on the Island, everyone else is informed of the party before they get there.

As characters approach, there's a banner hanging that says: HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY ROXAS. Glowsticks decorate the area where the party is taking place. There's enough for anyone to take some and use them if they want! Some catchy, danceable music plays in the background, and to the side is the table with (alcohol free for the time being) refreshments and snacks, Roxas' sea-salt ice cream cake still in a cooler until later. On the opposite side, is a table for birthday presents, which will can be opened anytime Roxas wants. Since the weather is decent, a projector has been set up on the beach to play an action adventure, fishpun-free movie later.

Games will go on during the party too, including sardines (which will take place more inland), pictionary and anything else anyone might think of. In case anyone wanted to play sports, there are also a few balls lying around, along with the closest thing Tidus could find to struggling bats.

[He laughs and spins around with the kid for a little while longer. So who's playing the man role in this dance; you or me?]

I'm surprised, Roxas.

[Tough call. Roxas doesn't completely understand leading so it's gotta be you at least some of the time. He's definitely much too short to spin you.]

Sure. I always imagined you'd be that one guy on the dance floor with two left feet.

Well, not really bad.

[Just... bad? Axel will now try to cover himself up by trying to twirl you around again, whoop. Don't mind him, bro. Just keep dancing.]

All right, I'll go easy on you just for this one day.

[He lifts his arm as if to demonstrate. Look how much you'd have to shrink, Axel.]

[Axel snickers.]

It's not my fault you're so tiny. Come up with somethin' else, then.

How'd you get to be so tall anyway?

[Grumble grumble and he has to think of a new dance move, too? Okay, he's not really annoyed but he is pouting a bit.]

Vegetables. Sunshine. Lots of TLC.

[He snickers towards that pout.]

What's wrong? Jealous?

Well- I'll get taller. [...he will, right? Eventually?]

Tender Loving Care. [Finger waggle]

And, yeah, if all goes well in your genes, sure you'll get taller. And, hey, if you don't, I guess you could blame Sora for that, huh?

...from who? [Axel, you were tall before he ever met you and he's your best friend. This is an unlikely story.]

H-his parents are taller than this. [Just not crazy tall.]

I dunno. Ask Lea that the next time you see 'im.

[He shouldn't be talking about his parents. Er. Lea's parents, rather.]

Well, then maybe you've both still got some growing to do. Just give it time, man. Another birthday or so.

[Well okay then. Apparently Axel was just born tall.]

I'm shooting for at least here. [He motions to about Axel's chin level. That's only another 4 or 5 inches, that's doable, right?]

[Would you believe he was very short as a kid? Must have been all that ice cream or something.]

[He looks at the spot Roxas is aiming for and laughs.]

Ah, you'll get there.

[In fact... Here, let him put his hands around your waist and try to hoist you up.]

[Roxas flails at being picked up and grabs Axel's shoulders to steady himself. Well. To feel steadier, he wasn't really in any danger there.]

Um. Y-yeah, this'd be okay...

Mm, don't you think that's a little too tall?

[Axel tilts his head as he keeps Roxas raised up. How's it feel to be one of the big guys, Roxas?]
