Birthday Party!

When: Tuesday, starts out in the evening and lasts until late at night.
Where: The Island, at the beach.

[Tidus had planned on throwing Roxas' party on his actual birthday. Then, stuff happened. Then other stuff. Now, finally, Roxas' very late "surprise" birthday party is being thrown. Telling Roxas that he just wants to hang out on the Island, everyone else is informed of the party before they get there.

As characters approach, there's a banner hanging that says: HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY ROXAS. Glowsticks decorate the area where the party is taking place. There's enough for anyone to take some and use them if they want! Some catchy, danceable music plays in the background, and to the side is the table with (alcohol free for the time being) refreshments and snacks, Roxas' sea-salt ice cream cake still in a cooler until later. On the opposite side, is a table for birthday presents, which will can be opened anytime Roxas wants. Since the weather is decent, a projector has been set up on the beach to play an action adventure, fishpun-free movie later.

Games will go on during the party too, including sardines (which will take place more inland), pictionary and anything else anyone might think of. In case anyone wanted to play sports, there are also a few balls lying around, along with the closest thing Tidus could find to struggling bats.

[And, of course, it's been just long enough that Roxas remains completely unprepared for it, and Chibi bowls him over into the sand.]

Awooooooooooooooooo! [Chibi relishes in his victory, first clambering up to rub his head under Roxas' chin and then moving off so the poor guy has a chance to breathe.

Heh. Happy Birthday!]

[If this is normally how we say 'hello,' Roxas takes the added enthusiasm to mean 'happy birthday.' He sits up, brushing sand off his arms.]

Uh, thanks?

[sonlight]

[Chibi nods, message successfully delivered.] Arf!

[And then he looks to the "dance floor," then back to Roxas, expression curious.

You here to show everyone your moves?]

You gonna go back to dancing? You're pretty good at it.

[Okay, that message not so successfully interpreted.]

[sonlight]

[He's about to nod in agreement but- hey! Wait! That's not what he meant! (He is a really good dancer, though.)

Chibi circles around behind Roxas and attempts to gently nudge him toward the music. C'mon! Let's both dance!]

[Roxas stumbles a step or two forwards, trying to look around at Chibi.]

H-hey. What're you doing?

[sonlight]

[Roxas will get another nudge forward before Chibi circles back around to the front.] Arf!

[He looks to the "dance floor," then up at Roxas.

Come on, you too! Let's both dance!]

[Oh. He gets your meaning now.]

But, um...

[How do you dance with a dog?]

[sonlight]

[His ears perk up and he tilts his head, looking confused.

"But" what? Do you not know how to dance?] Roo?

I don't- know much about dancing.

[He may be looking back and forth between his hands and your paws. Um.]

[sonlight]

[...If he's honest, he kind of just makes it up as he goes, too. Some kind of leg-feet-head-butt coordination? Humans have hands to throw in the mix which just makes it even more complicated if you think about it too hard.

Catching the looks but not their meaning, Chibi moves back and lifts one of his paws up.

You wanna see 'em? They're a little sandy, but other than that he keeps them clean!]

[Roxas can learn pretty well by example, but, well, dog dancing is maybe not something he should be imitating.

But the other way around is probably all right. Roxas bends down a little to take Chibi's paw and holds his hand out for the other. Care for a short, silly spin?]

[sonlight]

[Ooohh, that's what he wanted! This is the way Chibi danced with everyone else at the masquerade, so he's more than happy to comply. He places the remaining forepaw in Roxas' hand then stands up on his own hind legs, achieving a height that should save the poor kid from... most of the back pain he'd get from standing in this position.

You ready to kick it, bro?]

[Absolutely! He will try not to step on your paws with his giant feet as he attempts to navigate a circle.]

[sonlight]

[Once he's spotted said giant feet, Chibi decides another way might be easier...

So he steps up onto them, one hind leg after the other.]

Arf! [Hope you don't mind him hitching a ride, heh heh!]

Ah- [Roxas blinks in surprise but then grins a little.]

You cheater.

[But he'll make no move to get you off, pup.]

[sonlight]

Wuff! [He huffs, trying to look all offended, but he can't really stop grinning.

He's not cheating! This is easier for everyone, right?]

[Yes, cheating does tend to make things easier.

Roxas laughs at Chibi's attempt at taking offense and shuffles around a little faster in time with the music.]

[sonlight]

Woof! [He wuffles along, unable to hold his best attempt at a poker face for very long.

As the tune picks up, he starts wagging his tail in time to it!]
