Birthday Party!

When: Tuesday, starts out in the evening and lasts until late at night.
Where: The Island, at the beach.
Style: Whichever!
Status: OPEN

[Tidus had planned on throwing Roxas' party on his actual birthday. Then, stuff happened. Then other stuff. Now, finally, Roxas' very late "surprise" birthday party is being thrown. Telling Roxas that he just wants to hang out on the Island, everyone else is informed of the party before they get there.

As characters approach, there's a banner hanging that says: HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY ROXAS. Glowsticks decorate the area where the party is taking place. There's enough for anyone to take some and use them if they want! Some catchy, danceable music plays in the background, and to the side is the table with (alcohol free for the time being) refreshments and snacks, Roxas' sea-salt ice cream cake still in a cooler until later. On the opposite side, is a table for birthday presents, which will can be opened anytime Roxas wants. Since the weather is decent, a projector has been set up on the beach to play an action adventure, fishpun-free movie later.

Games will go on during the party too, including sardines (which will take place more inland), pictionary and anything else anyone might think of. In case anyone wanted to play sports, there are also a few balls lying around, along with the closest thing Tidus could find to struggling bats.

[Roxas gives him a playful nudge and then looks around.]

So- what do you think I'm supposed to do first?

[ Sora laughs lightly and shrugs his shoulders. ]

I don't know, you can do whatever you want. It's your party.

Yeah, but-

...I kind of want to do everything.

[runbysmiles]

So what you really need is to know where to start!

[ There were a lot of things to do, not to mention the nearly perfect struggle bats, but the two of them could fight any day. ]

Hmm....

Yeah, exactly.

Any suggestions?

Um...

gosh fine he's new to this big bro business

[coolerthansora]

[He follows Sora's gaze over to those makeshift Struggle bats.]

...you played before, right?

Yeah I did.

[ He looks back to Roxas. ]

You sure that's what you want to do?

[ Though judging by the smile on Sora's face he wouldn't mind. ]

It's a start.

[Roxas walks over to pick up a pair of bats, tossing one to Sora.]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora catches it expertly and he grins wider. ]

Okay! You asked for it!

[ He drops into his fighting stance. ]

[coolerthansora]

[Hey that's his line.

Oh well, Roxas grins and closes the distance for a first attack, bringing the bat down in an overhand strike.]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora parries the attack and steps quickly to the side to take his own swipe at Roxas. No doubt they're already getting a crowd. ]

[coolerthansora]

[A crowd that ought to be rooting for the birthday boy. Hopefully.

Roxas avoids the swipe with a reversal, sliding around behind Sora to swing at him again.]

[ Press square! Sora dodges to the side and rolls around to the other side of Roxas. He jumps up quickly and goes at Roxas with a double strike. ]

[coolerthansora]

[Roxas turns and blocks this one, the bats just making a soft thwacking noise, and then he shoves forward against Sora.]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora jumps back, sliding a bit in the sand. He's grinning like the idiot he is. He doesn't really want to win, what with it being Roxas's birthday, but he's not going to make it too easy for the other boy. ]

What's wrong Roxas?

[ Yup that was a taunt. ]

[coolerthansora]

What, you want me to beat you faster?

[Roxas closes the distance again, feinting an attack before rolling past Sora to try to get him from behind.]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora laughs and is nearly caught in that attack. He can feel the struggle bat catching on his jacket as he moves out of the way and moves backwards in quick steps. ]

[Roxas grins and dives after him, staying on the offensive with a quick jab.]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora parries the jab and holds his position with both hands on the struggle bat. His feet are slipping in the soft sand. ]

[coolerthansora]

[Roxas uses the rest of his forward momentum to push forward, hard, hoping to put Sora off-balance and make him lose his footing in the sand.]

[runbysmiles]

[ Good move. Sora went down on one knee and the struggle bat slipped from his hold as the sand gave way. ]

[coolerthansora]

[Roxas knocks the bat away from him and points his own at Sora's head. ... and then just gives him a light bop on the forehead.]

[runbysmiles]

[ Sora goes cross eyed for a moment as he looks at the bat before laughing. ]

Okay, you win that one!
