I guess things got a little crazy for a while there. I even missed my own birthday last month. It looks like everything's back to normal now, though.

[Or close enough.]

So...

It's not too late to throw a birthday party, is it? I mean, you only turn eighteen once. I'm going to have it at my place this evening, if anyone wants to come.

[Yes, his place. He'll be moving back out of the Ordo house where he'd been staying with his friends. He's feeling ready now, and there's no need to make a mess of their house when he's got a place of his own.]

I'm at the Yutopil Apartments, in room six.

[With that he turns his starfish off. He's got a party to get ready for. Hmm. After a moment, he turns it back on and dials for Link's and Angelo's SFCs.]

Hey, Link, did you still want to help? And Angelo? You don't have to, if you don't want to. Just thought I'd ask.

[One way or another, though, come this evening, the apartment will be decorated and there will be food and drinks. Nonalcoholic drinks, Angelo.]

Six thousand...gald? Is what your land counts as gold? [He's also curious about this Colette.] I'm also interested in knowing about this Colette.

Yeah. Gald's made from gold, but it's shaped into coins. You can't just say gold because gold can be shaped like anything.

Colette's one of my best friends. I grew up with her. She was supposed to regenerate the world, that's why the guy was so nice to use when he found out who she was. [A pause.] She's here in Vatheon, too, you know.

We refer to gold as gold coins, but it's still considered currency.

Regenerate the world? How could one girl do that? [And he might be smirking even if Lloyd can't see.] I'd love to meet Colette.

[Okay, that? That's a fair enough distinction that Lloyd can live with that.]

Gald's a shorter name, but I guess that would work, too.

Huh? Oh, yeah, I guess you wouldn't know about that. [Lloyd rubs the back of his neck. How to explain something that's common knowledge in his world...] It's kind of complicated. Basically, um...

See, my world got split into two because there's not enough mana, only most people don't know that, but the legend says the Goddess told us to wake her up when the mana gets too low, but only the Chosen can do that, but she has to become an angel so she can talk to Martel. Only that's not really the story, they just wanted her to release the seals and the mana would go from Tethe'alla to Sylvarant and Colette was going to lose her soul...

[And that still bugs him, and it shows in his voice, a hint of anger showed at the edges. It goes away at that last comment, though.]

If you want to meet her, I bet she'd be glad to.

Your world sounds rather ruthless, Lloyd. A struggle for magical energy means poor girls like Colette must lose their souls? It's rather unfair. Why does such a system exist? Because of the worlds being split in two?

[Lloyd shakes his head, though Angelo can't see that. It's a question he's asked more than once himself, protesting the unfairness of the world.]

It's because Cruxis was trying to revive Martel. They were trying to turn Colette into a vessel for her.

[Yeah, he doesn't like the sound of this.]

Make her into a vessel for Martel? This Cruxis sounds rather insane if you ask me.

You're telling me.

[Lloyd doesn't sound any happier about this than Angelo does. Less so, in fact.]

That's why we have to stop them. Well, that and a lot of other reasons. We saved Colette already, though. She's not going to lose her soul.

If it were possible, I'd help in your fight... But we haven't even find a way out yet. Though I am currently, I do believe there's land above the seas of this place.

Well, we do know that there's an island above us, so there's probably more islands out there. That's why I'm working on building a boat.

[Angelo's probably seen the plans lying around the apartment.]

I'll help with that at the very least, I saw the plans lying around so that's where I got the idea. We'll go out and explore the outside world together once we're done the ship.

The more help I have, the better. I'm not sure how big I could make it by myself.

Of course I do, this sounds like a grand adventure to me. Maybe if we get to the surface, we can see how big this world actually is.
