a very important date
Who: Yukari, Serph, & Cielo
Where: Starting at the Embryon base. Then we are winging the fuck out of this.
When: Yukari's biiirthdaaay aka backdated to the 19th, after these.
Style: tl;dr in brackets--
Status: Closed.
[It isn't really unusual for Yukari to take a while, getting dressed for the day. She is pretty much your typical girl, and though she was close to graduating before being whisked away here over a year ago, she never quite made it out of that high school mindset where appearances matter.
She's only given herself a half an hour this time, though, and that includes travel time to the Embryon's base, too. Maybe she'd rather not spend her time in this empty dormitory if she doesn't have to; maybe she's rushing herself a little, but nevertheless, she makes sure she looks more than presentable, donned in her favorite colors and shades.
She also takes special care in putting on a certain special necklace that Minato had given to her as a present, this very day last year.
And after taking one last look at herself in the mirror, she hurries off, tucking her SFC away as she walks off towards the forest quadrant.
Who would be the first to greet her?
. . . Well. Either way, they'll be greeted with a much more mellow and subdued Yukari than the excitable one from earlier texts. There's a sigh that escapes her lips as she allows her mind to wander.]
Jeez. I'm gonna be late, aren't I . . .
[Ah . . . oh well.]

[Ah . . . oh well.]

But nevertheless, she turns to Serph when he asks his question.]
Things? I . . . guess that depends.
[Naturally she's kind of assuming he's asking about a present, albeit in a roundabout way, but . . . seeing as how she hadn't even mentioned her birthday until today, it would seem kind of unfair to expect that of either of them.
Either way, she'll be trying to think of an answer that isn't stupidly generic.]

[As they're walking, they pass by a low stone wall. Cielo hops onto it and continues walking, both arms outstretched to either side for balance. Not that he really needs to do that, but it seems like a fun thing to do.]

[They're both waiting for an answer by now. Yukari takes another moment to ponder it before giving a response, which ends up being a bit generic anyway. Oh well.]
There are different kinds of things, right? I like flowers myself -- but I also like books, and going to the movies . . .
Chocolates and sweets . . .
I could probably go on for a while.
[She laughs a bit.]
no subject
Should we get you some of those then?
no subject
...yep Serph sure is wallflowering. He's listening intently, though, waiting for Cielo to exhaust his questions -- since they'll likely cover the questions Serph has -- before asking his own.]
no subject
Yukari is looking pretty sheepish right now. How are you supposed to answer that, anyway? Should she be honest, since she really does appreciate all those things-- or should she be modest, which is what most people do?
Most of the time when people are modest, though, it's pretty obvious they want the stuff anyway.
H- heh--]
Only if you want to. Presents and birthdays do go hand in hand for some people, but . . . i- it's not a big deal.
no subject
Well, I want to.
no subject
I hope you don't mind your presents being a little late.
no subject
Man, he's got some interesting habits. Weird, but interesting. And she is already looking a little bashful and awkward, because of course she can't tell if he's just saying that; but then she just shakes her head when Serph chimes in. Thank goodness.]
No, not at all. We've got other things to worry about anyway, don't we?
[Like amusement park rides and ice cream and cake oh my.]
no subject
Ja.
[Their destination is coming right up!]
no subject
In front of them the place for them to pay for entry, and just beyond that are rows and rows of booths lined with all kinds of fair food like fairy floss. Turning to Yukari, Serph asks--]
Do you have enough tokens for entry?
[Because he doesn't know if Yukari is working or anything. He'd be happy to pay for her fare, if needed. The whole Tribe pretty much leeched off his Macca back in the Junkyard anyway--]
no subject
Well, she could leech off Serph, but she'd rather not if she can help it.]
I should.
[She nods and digs into her pocket to pull out the SFC and the card with her tokens on it. She probably does odd jobs here and there, much in the same way she'd help at Chagall Cafe back at home on certain evenings, when they got too busy.
. . . Probably nothing permanent.]
no subject
...why didn't they come here sooner?]
no subject
Aside from the stalls selling food near the amusement park's entrance, the other attractions near the entrance are the Ferris wheel, a pirate ship (it seems to just swing from side to side like a pendulum) and waterslides in the near distance.]
Where do you want to go first?
no subject
Luckily she isn't hungry yet, but she does take note of the food stalls.]
How 'bout the Ferris wheel? It goes pretty high up, so we can get a pretty good view of the park.
no subject
Sounds good.
[Naturally, Cielo loves high places. The ferris wheel looks rather slow, but maybe that will make the ride soothing. He's making his way over there, come on slowpokes!]
no subject
And excuse you, dear scout, but it's not their job to go ahead of people!!]
no subject
She's grinning as they catch up to him.]
By the way -- do you guys know what a camera is yet?
no subject
A camera? Like the thing that records on the SFC?
no subject
Serph tilts his head. Nope nope what is this camera you speak of, Yukari?]
no subject
Yeah, exactly. There are different kinds, though: the SFCs can record moving video, but I'm just thinking of still pictures.
[You guys at least know what those are. Right???]
I was thinking about taking some.
no subject
Do you have one on you?
no subject
Before Cielo asks his question, Serph asks Yukari--]
Are you talking about taking photographs?
no subject
Yeah!
[And . . . she's digging into her purse, until she pulls out her trusty camera. No one was surprised at its color.]
. . . Actually, I think our SFCs can take them, too. But the quality probably won't be as good.
