[It isn't really unusual for Yukari to take a while, getting dressed for the day. She is pretty much your typical girl, and though she was close to graduating before being whisked away here over a year ago, she never quite made it out of that high school mindset where appearances matter.

She's only given herself a half an hour this time, though, and that includes travel time to the Embryon's base, too. Maybe she'd rather not spend her time in this empty dormitory if she doesn't have to; maybe she's rushing herself a little, but nevertheless, she makes sure she looks more than presentable, donned in her favorite colors and shades.

She also takes special care in putting on a certain special necklace that Minato had given to her as a present, this very day last year.

And after taking one last look at herself in the mirror, she hurries off, tucking her SFC away as she walks off towards the forest quadrant.

Who would be the first to greet her?

. . . Well. Either way, they'll be greeted with a much more mellow and subdued Yukari than the excitable one from earlier texts. There's a sigh that escapes her lips as she allows her mind to wander.]

Jeez. I'm gonna be late, aren't I . . .

[Ah . . . oh well.]

[She glances behind them as Serph makes his way in, and when he asks, she looks around at their immediate choices. There's a lot more to the park, of course, but it's hard to ignore the things in plain sight.

Luckily she isn't hungry yet, but she does take note of the food stalls.]

How 'bout the Ferris wheel? It goes pretty high up, so we can get a pretty good view of the park.

[Oh, she means that thing that a dead body was strapped to-]

Sounds good.

[Naturally, Cielo loves high places. The ferris wheel looks rather slow, but maybe that will make the ride soothing. He's making his way over there, come on slowpokes!]

[Serph nods, accepting Yukari's suggestion. Unlike Cielo, Serph takes a more leisurely pace, walking alongside Yukari, fox tail swooshing behind him.

And excuse you, dear scout, but it's not their job to go ahead of people!!]

[It most certainly is not. There is a bit of a line anyway, so Yukari has no problems with hanging back at a leisurely pace; although Cielo's enthusiasm is quite infectious.

She's grinning as they catch up to him.]

By the way -- do you guys know what a camera is yet?

[Au contraire, Leader, but it's a scout's entire job to...scout.]

A camera? Like the thing that records on the SFC?

[YOU'D THINK THEY'D KNOW THIS BUT...

Serph tilts his head. Nope nope what is this camera you speak of, Yukari?]

[Cielo's got it! Her eyes light up a little and she nods, as they continue to move up the line.]

Yeah, exactly. There are different kinds, though: the SFCs can record moving video, but I'm just thinking of still pictures.

[You guys at least know what those are. Right???]

I was thinking about taking some.

[Oh! Those! Cielo always wondered where those came from.]

Do you have one on you?

[Still pictures... Those are...

Before Cielo asks his question, Serph asks Yukari--]

Are you talking about taking photographs?

[tsundyne]

[How convenient that both of those questions can be answered in a single word.]

Yeah!

[And . . . she's digging into her purse, until she pulls out her trusty camera. No one was surprised at its color.]

. . . Actually, I think our SFCs can take them, too. But the quality probably won't be as good.

[That camera is cute! Cielo isn't exactly sure why he thinks it's cute. It must be the color.]

How does it work?

[Very pink. Serph's fox ears twitch in amusement, though his face remains :| as ever. He gives the camera a good look over from his current position. He can see lens, much like the ones on his spyglass.

Well, Cielo's asked the important question, so here's Serph wallflowering!!]

[Yukari nods, acknowledging Cielo's question as she nudges the two of them to get closer. She sees your lineface, Serph, you better at least smile a little for the picture!!]

I'll show you. Here, stand together and hold still.

[That sounds simple enough. Cielo is immediately at Serph's side.]

[Well, since Cielo did the moving, Serph doesn't move. He tilts his head, but remains :|

There better not be flash on that camera!!]

[Calm down, protag baby, it's auto and there's plenty of light that flash isn't necessary. She pulls the camera up to her face with her finger on the button and smiles herself, as if to set an example.]

Perfect. Now smile!

[She'll give them a moment and then--



Click!]

[And he's going to give the best smile possible. When the camera clicks, he holds it for a few more seconds before moving.]

Is it done?

[Huh wha-- Serph smiles, but it's brief, fleeting, a slight upwards curl at the corners of his mouth... and gone by the time Yukari clicks the camera.

Hey, he did smile. Yukari was the one who didn't tell him for how long!!]

[Before answering Cielo, she'll take a look at the picture herself on the digital camera's screen; and then she just kind of shakes her head a bit as holds it out to them, so they can see it too.

Something of a teasing smile appears on her face.]

Well, at least someone did what I said.

[Wow, that's them!]

Still looks good.

[Don't worry about Serph, he just needs to get better at this.]

Is there a way to get the picture out from your camera?

[Into a, you know, more physical form?]

[Right, she should explain that, too.]

Yeah. Once we're all done, I should be able to hook it up to a computer and print copies. As many as we want.

[Yay! It's nice to know computers can do nice things that aren't be complicated door security locks and such.]

Hey Serph, where would we put the pictures?

[Pictures go on walls! Do they have a good spot in the base for them?]

[bufudine]

[But when computers break down, does punching them fix them? Serph considers the question for a moment.]

The ground floor.

[That way everyone could see them when they entered the base. Perhaps as a reminder of the good fortune they have here. But now that he's answered the question, Serph turns to continue walking towards the Ferris Wheel.]

[If punching computers could fix them, there would totally be a lot less computer problems in the world. But in any case, the line is moving, so when Serph continues walking, Yukari does, too.

They're almost at the front now.]

Not a bad idea. Maybe you could get a frame for it or something.
