A Promise Kept

Tieria was almost ready. After resolving the little issue with the magic spells and whatnot, Tieria remembered that he had told Selphie, or rather, she had talked him into cooking for her. So, here he was, working on a simple dinner of penne a la vodka. He hadn't even considered dessert, so here was hoping she either brought some or wasn't expecting any. At least he remembered to have drinks?

Tieria shook his head.

"I have not had either." The idea of one or the other being strange or exclusive hadn't really occurred to him, either. Then again, considering he'd never dated before might have something to do with that. "Does it make a difference?"

Selphie just shook her head with a gentle smile, "Nu uh. It totally doesn't matter. Really, I don't think it matters if it's a boy or a girl, just so long as you're in love with someone."

Well, that's what she thought. Others might beg to differ.

"Oh." Tieria frowned a little. "How would you know if you're in love with someone?" he then asked, not really sure if he'd ever actually experienced it himself.

[booyaka_boom]

"Well... It's like... When you really don't like being apart from someone, cause all you can do is think about them. And then when you are with them, you're having the happiest time because you feel so safe and everything they say or do just makes you wanna explode cause you're so happy!" She finally took a breath, having rattled that off at some speed eventually.

Tieria considered it for a moment. He wasn't sure. It didn't sound overly familiar on the extreme end, but Tieria was aware that he was more reserved than a lot of people. Perhaps he had experienced it? He couldn't be sure.

"I do not know if I have had that."

Selphie tilted her head and watched him for a moment before smiling and laughing gently, "I guess it's one of those things that you only know when it's really there... Or maybe you don't know." She shook her head, "I'm hardly any kind of expert!"

"You seem to know more than I do," Tieria said quietly. It was awkward, admitting that he didn't know about something. "I have not had experience with these things."

Selphie shook her head slowly, blushing then, "Oh... Not really. Not really. I guess it's one of those things people just sorta learn as they go along..."

He nodded. "That does make sense, then." If it was something only learned by experience, then he didn't feel so bad not knowing.

"It's not something to worry about anyway! Just that when do you love someone, I bet you'll win them over super easy!" She laughed gently and nodded towards the table, the dinner an idication of that.

He just nodded. He wasn't looking for a relationship, so he supposed it didn't matter in the end anyway.
