Relius has arrived on the island in the early morning for some preliminary tests. He moved Ignis through her basic paces that he could preform on his own. Her movement seemed unimpaired due to their transportation. It was all within parameters. This was a good sign. The rest of her functions would have to wait until his test subjects arrived. Only then could he see if she was still fully functional for battle. He did wonder if everything would work as it was supposed to.

Thanks to Rita Mordio, he was sure she could operate without the necessary seither to trigger her Ars. Though it would be his subjects' responsibility to see about that. He would also need to be sure his own abilities remained intact. Hazama might say he was showing his hand too early but he was also forcing others to do the same. Besides, hands could always be shifted and molded, should the occasion call for it. He would try to pull his punches to make sure none could gauge his true abilities. He was fairly sure none of them were as strong as Hazama. Should that be the case, he should be victorious in every bout.

Though there was one last goal to all this. He wished to see the volunteer's souls. He was sure he could catch glimpses of all their souls in this fight. He told them to not hold back and in such situations the way to their true forms was often exposed. He looked forward to all of the data he would be collecting.

It was impressive how Ignis appeared. 17 couldn't help but stare for a moment. Might as well make the first move. 17 crouched down to a fighting stance, one arm out as the other rested against his side. He pushed off his heel and rushed to the puppeteer, gently for now.

Relius waited until 17 was close enough before activating his attack. A glowing glyph appeared under his feet with gears and a lever behind him. He pulled the lever and a massive green and yellow arm flew from the glyph and attempted to slam into the android.

The glowing glyph caught his attention. To watch a ginormous hand merged from the ground was definitely new. Before the arm could reach him, 17's image phased out. He reappeared on Relius's side ready to jab his fist.

"Stimuli!" Relius coughed out as he was struck. He slid to the side from the strike but stopped himself. He motioned with his hands but gave no command this time. Ignis went for 17 with a sudden claw swipe followed by dropping to the ground and unleashing two energy blades from the extensions off her hat at him.

Well that one he didn't expect. So the puppet has a mind of her own. The blades struck 17 and pushed him back enough to tear his shirt. The android tossed out his arm and aimed his palm towards the puppet this time. His palm glowed with a ball of energy before he released it. If anything, it was her fighting and not him.

Relius was not about to allow that to hit his doll. He snapped his fingers and Ignis vanished. The orbs of energy hit the ground and kicked up dust and sand when they exploded. Relius used it as a distraction and moved in close to 17.

"Id Lauger!" The large green fist appeared from the glyph once again and came through the dust in an attempt to crash into the android. If it hit, the Andriod would be launched into the air where Ignis would be suddenly waiting with a follow up attack. She would have a massive buzzsaw spinning around her as she tried to slam into 17.

Lucky for him, 17 isn't build with homing sensors to detect energy. The dust blocked his optical vision. Before he realized the glyph on the ground, the giant fist punched him off guard and sent him to the air followed by Ignis's next move. The android slammed to the ground and stayed there for now.

Relius halted his assault for a moment. He wanted to see if the boy could take that hit and still stand. He watched him, intently, trying to gauge his physical damage and possibly catch a glimpse of his soul.

Relius can get a glimpse of his soul before the cyborg got up. His soul is strong and childish right now. What's strange about it is, this cyborg really wasn't trying. Sure the puppet got a couple good hits on the cyborg, it wasn't enough to keep him down. The cyborg's unlimited energy and stamina rises back up. A complement whistle follows a moment later from 17. 17 picks himself back up as if it was nothing, seeing if his clothes are torn yet or not. His body can take the damage, but not his clothes. He walks casually back to Relius calmly.

"Round two?"

Now that was impressive. This boy obviously is no normal human; not with a soul like that. Plans are already forming in Relius's mind. 17 could make a powerful ally in time. Keeping in good relations with him will be a goal in the future. It could be much like working with Hazama he was sure.

"If you wish for another round. Though I seem to have been unable to damage you much at all."

Since Relius admitted it, it felt pointless to continue. So the cyborg stopped.

"It's nothing personal, just the way I was build. If I haven't taken the fight lightly, your doll would probably break. That should be enough sufficient data for now."

It was neat to see different attacks for once, something different for a change. "If you're done, then I'll take my leave."

"I would think it would be possible. Should I require more data I shall contact you. I don't believe you gave me your name." Relius nodded. He wasn't sure if Ignis could break entirely but more research was needed to find a way to harm this person. Then again, perhaps fighting wouldn't be needed should they become allies. He had much to learn.

"It's Android 17. Call me if you ever want a rematch. I'll gladly take you on, " 17 smiled. Long as Relius doesn't try to take control of him, it's all good. But damn, it felt nice to be on the top again.

"I shall do just that. Until we meet again, Android 17." And that would explain why he was so powerful. He's much like a Murakumo Unit, which could mean he'd be a perfect test subject for later.

"Laters," with that said 17 gave a salute before he flew off.
