She'll certainly regret THIS in the morning

Status: Mostly closed, nudge me if there's something you really want to do. Trying to keep this at "embarrassing" instead of "sobbing on Monday because she's no longer a virgin", so!

[When Zelda wakes up on Sunday morning, there's something a little different about her. Not only is she wearing far less than usual (and with no attempt to cover up the slight cleavage resulting! Scandalous!), she just seems more... affectionate. The first thing she does is head out to Kanaya's shop to speak with her about the masquerade. Maybe she'll go to the library after that. The library sounds good.]

[ Duke had gotten up, and before noon, read everything he had written in his ... house.

Which is why he is now in the library at noon, sitting in a corner with a pile of books.

There is reading to be done. ]

[At this point in the week, Guy just hoped the curse would be over. He was getting a bit sick of his own moodswings - it hadn't really done him much good.

Thankfully, today he seemed okay. He hadn't yelled at Luke or started any fights. He was untouched, right?

Sure, he was dressed a little more to catch the eye than anything else. Sure, his eyes were straying on certain people a bit more than normal. His normal honest comments to the ladies at the host club were just a little more outgoing, a bit... sassier. Enough to make a few local girls giggle and blush uncontrollably, at least.

But naaa, there wasn't anything wrong with this. Of course not! He'd totally know it otherwise.

He's left the club early, taking a quick peek into the Welcome Center to grab a couple calculations he had made earlier in the morning before strolling back into the plaza. And intentional or not, there's a smooth swagger to his step.]

[Denzel knew something was up. The coral levels where high and his communicator, as he had scanned in the early morning hours, had pictures of shirtless men so decided for the day to turn that off. Whatever the heck was going on was completely awkward. So, making his way to the library to do more research on all of these universes and perhaps Vat, itself. With a pile of books, almost completely hiding him from one side, Crocker sat at a table with his pen and paper out. There was research to be done! Tapping his chin with his pen, he was wondering why this apparent curse, wasn't affecting him... Then scratches his head.] I wonder if the coral is random... If that's the case, would explain why certain people are taken here and certain people disappear. THAT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!

[Beat. He quickly sits down] Sorry!

[But could he prove that?]

[When she spots Duke, Zelda makes her way over to him fairly quickly. She drapes her arms around his neck from behind, pressing against his back as she looks over his shoulder.]

Reading something interesting?

[The princess is just a little pouty since Duke had been so terribly absorbed in his books, but she looks quite happy to see Guy. Even in her cursed state she's smart enough to not hug him in greeting like she had with Duke, instead crossing her arms under her chest and hugging herself a bit in an effort to keep her hands where they belong.]

Good afternoon, Guy.

[Zelda is one of those people behaving oddly today. Even though her own nature mostly ensures that she's only actively pursuing people she had some level of romantic interest in beforehand, her clothing and body language don't change when speaking to Denzel. She smiles and waves off his apology.]

No trouble. Doing a little research?

[Fixing his glasses] Yes, I am. Appreciated, last thing I want to happen is be banned from the lib- [He looks up and insant nosebleed due to Zelda's outfit]

Mr. Crocker?!

[Zelda has no idea what a comical nosebleed is supposed to signify, thankfully. She's just worried about him. The princess attempts a quick healing spell, looking startled.]

NO! Don't come any closer! [Squinting his eyes close] And what the heck do you think you're wearing?!

[Zelda's quick healing spell works for now...]

...a dress?

[She looks down at it somewhat blankly. What was the matter with it? Other people in this city show far more skin than this!]

You don't usually, wear something like ... that. [Mouth awkward twitch. But then Denzel was a stuffed shirt and just for the amount Zelda was wearing made things awkward. After all, he'd rather be in his lab working then look at porn any day]

I was feeling a little overly warm today. It isn't terribly inappropriate, is it?

[Zelda tugs at the dress a little self-consciously. She'd seen other people wearing something like this, she knows it! Is it just because it's her? Maybe because the mark of Vatheon is now clearly visible below her collarbone?]

[Denzel feels where his nose is pointing, having glasses after all helps with your other senses, and then peeks his eyes open and looks beyond Zelda's right ear]

This is another reason I don't interact with anyone.

[Who was he talking too? Nobody! Before looking Zelda directly in the eyes]

[Considering this was Mr. Uptight and Mr. Stuffed Shirt]

[Zelda combs her hair around to the front anxiously to cover the opening in the dress. It certainly wasn't her intention to make anyone uncomfortable.]

I, ah, I see. I will leave you to your research, then.

[Dipping her head, she hurries away quickly. The back of the dress goes down quite far as well. So racy!

WAIT! I need to ask you something!

Your tattoo... They're variant on [twitch] body locations?

That's right. They can be anywhere. Zelos and I both are marked just below the collarbone, but I have seem them everywhere from the back of someone's hand to ankles to between the shoulderblades.

[The location of the tattoo is not always convenient. Serph's is even on his butt!]

[Denzel touches one of his butt cheeks for a moment]

Any hypothesis as to why?

Not really. The sample size I have is admittedly quite small. I'm not comfortable running about and asking people where they've been branded, after all.

[Especially since some of those people would show her. And in most cases, she does NOT want to see.]

That makes two of us.

[Beat] If you wouldn't mind. I'd like to look at what research you have collected on that.

[Sitting down and looks as if he's pondering. His eyes fall to some of his notes and facepalms. Now what? If he was going to learn more about these curses, it also means looking into both the tattoo and the coral]

Could you come back over here?

I have not collected any research on it, just observed it casually.

[It's one of the few things on the coral Zelda hasn't written down at all. She doesn't ever plan to get a complete catalogue of the markings, so she doesn't seem the point. She does head back over to Mr. Crocker, though.]

[Angelo is shopping looking around for something a bit more...conservative or something very close to what he's wearing today. Not having much luck, he sighs and begins to leave the store for elsewhere and may or may not bump into Zelda.]

[Her clothes aren't the only thing different - her shoes are much taller than usual, too. As such, Angelo bumping into her unexpectedly sends her reeling. She doesn't quite fall to the ground, grabbing onto him instead.]

I would like to observe the marking in detail... [His mouth twitches a little, despite not looking up yet. Zelda may have noticed Crocker has no mirrors in his house.
Ripping out a piece of paper from his notebook, places the paper over his eyes until they're forcused to eye level and slowly, slides the paper down]

[Oh, was that all? She nods, sitting back down. In this dress, she doesn't even have to hold her collar down to allow observation.]

It glows on Sundays at midnight if a curse is on the way or stopping. It can be somewhat useful to keep an eye on it.

[Denzel stares at the tattoo, as if he's engraving the design into his memory]

I wonder what that design means.... [Looking over at the stack of books]

It does? [Pause] I can't really keep an eye on mine...
