Eikichi woke up face-down on the pavement of the Plaza completely drenched. Son of a bitch. Now his clothes were all wet and his makeup was running. Dammit.

"Damn Philemon," he cursed, "Damn Nyarthwhatever," pushing himself to his feet then whipping out a hand mirror to fix his makeup. Looking bad was just out of the question. He had an appearance and a reputation to keep up, after all, since the world was still here.

And when he put away the mirror, that was when he noticed something was wrong. He stuck out like a sore thumb, tall and twiggy, with bright blue hair, eyeliner, and heavy jewelry. Eikichi glanced around at the place. It didn't look like anywhere in Sumaru, not that much of the place was left now. It could be another rumor running rampant, changing Sumaru into something like this, or someone's dreams coming to life, buuuuut this was kind of drastic.

"Okay everybody, someone tell me where I am and what the hell's going on?"

Free?! [ Yeah, that's a bit of an important detail there. ] Really? Why?

...Don't really know. [Whoops!] But if you do try to pay, they just won't take it.

I guess they don't need it.

That's just bizarre! And kinda suspicious.

Yeah. We all thought so too, at first, but we've kind of learned not to complain about it...

Complaining or not, still seems kinda fishy.

...Well, for now, that's how it is. Do you want some dry clothes or not?

[She's totally cool with leaving him to fend for himself if he would prefer :|a]

[ well when it comes down to a choice like that.... ] I'll take 'em dry. Let's go.

[Yeah, uh-huh, that's what she thought.

TO THE MARKETPLACE, THEN. Shell even lead the way. This guy really seems to stand out a bit, but in a city full of trolls, Pokemon and other non-humans, she can't bring herself to mind much...

At least, not anymore.]

[ Eikichi knows nothing about those other things. Yet.

But what he does know is that even despite being attuned to water, he doesn't like being wet. So he follows her, attempting to wring out his hair as they go. ]

[It doesn't take very long to get there, luckily for them, and Yukari knows the city very well by now. In fact, it probably takes her longer to decide where they should start.

But after a moment or two, she leads him into one of the first clothing stores. At least he's dried himself off enough now that he won't get everything wet.]

This is a good a place as any, I guess. If you see anything you like, just go ahead and try it on.

[She bobs her head over to indicate the fitting rooms at the back of the store.]

[ Eikichi shrugs. Works for him. He grabs a few things. ]

[ see? he can simply not call you babe. he doesn't take long to return in a long tshirt and a pair of jeans. Of course he has to admire himself in the mirror for a few moments. ]

[She browses the store herself while she waits, though nothing really catches her eye. She's been here for a while now, and pretty much owns everything she wants, but...

Occasionally the stores surprise her. Just not today.]

Not bad.

[She looks at Eikichi once he returns. The outfit choice is casual one, bu the look for him, so...she shrugs.

Good enough for her...]

So what next? [ He stares at the mirror for a moment. It's an odd thought just to walk out the store with the clothes. Granted Eikichi's a punk, but he has his moral standards. It's like shopping at Rosa Candida but without any price tag attached (and that place was expensive too). ]

...Well. Whatever you want, I guess.

You're probably gonna need a place to live. [And by probably, she means definitely; he doesn't wanna be homeless, after all.]

[ He guesses that probably is the way of doing things here. The locals did seem to treat them like gods. Yeah, that's kind of creepy.

Eikichi frowns and rolls up his own clothes. It may be a school uniform but he's rather fond of the modifications he did to it. They're coming with him. ]

Lemme guess. That's free too?

Yep.

[Good guess on his part. She shrugs, the novelty of all the "free" wearing off long ago. She's so used to it now that she's probably spoiled silly.]

Should be first come, first serve, so any free rooms you see'll be up for grabs. There's an office where you can ask about that stuff, but you can explore a bit first, if you want.

I'll have to look that over.

[ this was all just so odd. free everything. Everything cost money at home. Money for weapons. Money for armor. Money to spread rumors. Money for food. Money for everything! It was a good thing they could get money from demons by talking to them. ]

[She nods.

Most of her income came from beating up Shadows back at home, so she can kind of remember how weird it is. But if nothing else, everything being free would be easy to adjust to.]

Good. And you can give me a call if you need anything else.

[As long as you stop calling her babe.]

[ why yes, he does remember her name. he just likes calling cute girls babe. ]
