Who: Dirk Strider and OPEN
When: Today in the afternoon
Where: Around the plaza, or in the Coral Corral
Style: Anything is fine.
Status: Open
[So, some things have happened this week. Dirk and Roxy are sharing a house now, for one, and they made sure to get one that had enough rooms that Jane and Jake could stay with them if they ever arrived. So far, it'd been good. Living with someone else was a novel experience, as was having neighbors.
Apparently there's been a curse going on, but the effects of it haven't really hit Dirk- until this morning, when he'd discovered that something red had gotten mixed in with his shirts in the wash. And he didn't even remember getting anything red in the first place, when he'd gotten clothes to replace his Derse pajamas.
Dirk's never been one to let a little color bleeding stop him, though. He has things to do. He just continues to go about getting the things they want or need for the house, all while wearing a shirt that is a really eye-catching shade of pink. ]

totally at home
So Roxy has been taking advantage of this whole having a new place and also everything is free thing, and has been decorating her room almost since they got the place. She's nearly done, too, but the grand reveal will be later.
She's chillaxing with a drink when he wanders by, and it's only practice that keeps her from spitting it out. ]
Gurl, where did you get your shirt.

He stops in the process of heading back to his room, smoothing out any wrinkles on it.]
Made it myself, apparently. I take it you appreciate the color.
no subject
Totally. I might have to borrow it some time.
[ She unwinds herself from her seat (one of those big fuzzy chairs in hot pink) and gets up to step over to him, peering closely at the color, which may or may not put her in what would normally be uncomfortable proximity. ]
What happened?

[He's half-serious. And she's probably invading his personal bubble, even though he hasn't exactly established the boundaries yet, but this is Roxy, so she gets a free pass.]
There was a tragic laundry accident. My things didn't survive.

[ WONK. ]
But really though we gotta be careful with the laundry it could be out to get us.

Lots of things are out to get us. Rugs seem pretty dangerous too.

[ Of course, she kind of trips over her own feet a lot of the time, too, but shh. It's totally the rugs.
She's quiet for a moment, a hand sort of absently curled in the hem of his shirt, and she glances around. ]
This is so weird.

But when she pauses, and looks around, it gets a behind-the-sunglasses eyebrow raise.]
There are a lot of weird things here. You're going to have to be more specific.

[ She sort of waves her other hand (and consequently, her drink) around in the air, pausing before any of the liquid can slosh over the side. ]
...domesticate-- domestic-- whatever-- thing we've got goin' on here. I mean. Christ. Fuckin'. We got neighbors 'n shit.

[He tilts his head toward a window, through which one of the surrounding houses is visible.]

Oh my god we should bake them a cake! We'll like... invoke Janey's spirit.
no subject
That's a hell of a lot of invoking. Have you ever even baked before?

[ That is some trouble shining in her eyes and it cannot be tamed. ]

Memes aside, we should figure out a kind of cake, at least.
