4th - I don't care who Nynaeve thumps, as long as it isn't me.
Who: Mat, Perrin, the coma-ed Rand, and you!
Where: The Plaza
When: Midday
Style: Either, we'll follow
Status: Open!
When Mat arrived, he was told that people fall asleep if they don't touch the coral. It was with that idea that he tried to drag Rand to the coral, told Perrin he wanted to get Rand to the coral when asked, and asked for his help when he only managed to get Rand halfway off the couch they'd put him on.
Perrin hadn't been told that, but it never hurts to try. And besides, it might keep Mat out of trouble for a while if he humors him. It'd save Rand pain from being dragged everywhere when he woke up too.
That's how they ended up walking to the coral, with Perrin carrying Rand's shoulders and Mat just holding onto his feet and legs.
((ooc: Samm (Rand-mun) gave me permission for this almost as soon as we figured out the days she'd be in China
Reply's will come from both Mat and Perrin!))

... But they were doing this in broad daylight. That didn't seem right at all ... not only that, but making assumptions based on what she had only just seen for herself was something she had learned not to do, because it always led to things not always being what they seemed.
It was with this in mind that Estelle cautiously made her way over to the trio of men, staring a bit oddly at the unconscious one.
"What happened to him? Is he all right? Is he injured?"

"He's flaming unconscious and apart from that he's fine." Well, fine in the sense he can't be healed better. Those wounds in his side could open up, he's missing his left hand, and apparently the heron brand in his right palm still hurts a lot, just like the one on the missing left hand would've if it was still there.
He's glad he left the ashandarei back at the Winespring. It'd make it a bit harder to carry the taller and heavier man, even though Perrin's the one carrying most of the weight.

"Mat thought a trip across town might wake him," he added in a gentler tone, and one that sounded faintly amused. He had a feeling that if they weren't hauling their friend through the city, Mat would have come up with an alternative solution Rand might appreciate even less.

It sounded suspiciously like the time she herself had fallen asleep ... nothing could have woken her then, and from the sounds of things, the man hadn't woken even though he was being carried around by people. That stuck out to her the most.
Perhaps she could help these men figure out what was going on.

And it wasn't the trip across town that he thought'd wake him. It was getting him to touch the coral. Zelda'd said that's why people fall asleep, so it made sense that getting him to touch it might wake him up.
...Catching a badger and setting it on Rand did cross his mind though. For a moment.
sorry for late =x
He looked back at the girl, whose scent was mostly curious now. "Have you known anyone else to sleep so long?"
no prob, no prob ~ o/
"Yes. I have, once. Sometimes, people in this world will suddenly become comatose for quite a while. All of the experiences I've known of this had it so that the comatose individual woke up after quite a while of being asleep, though, so if that's what is causing this, then your friend should be fine."
yep! No problem at all \o
He knows the coral can't Heal Rand's side wounds - that's really no surprise, even if they think it's a god - but he still hopes this works. If it doesn't...well, he isn't the most mature out of the three by any means, even with those memories.

Still, he looked back at Mat and quirked his head towards the coral. They had come all the way here, they might as well carry him the last few paces and see if anything happened. If not, well... the sooner they could start getting him back to the Winespring, he supposed.
no subject
"Though I should say, he's probably going to feel a bit strange when he wakes up. It's almost like how oversleeping makes you feel even more tired ... he will probably feel a little of that when he wakes up. Or, well, that was the experience with me, anyway."

He waits for Perrin to start walking backward before he starts forward.

Carrying Rand the last stretch to the coral, Perrin moved to set him down just beside it. They probably could have bumped his shoulder against it or something, but Perrin always touched the coral with a hand.

"I am Estellise. It's a pleasure to meet all three of you!"
She followed them to the coral; she could understand why they carried him there anyway, despite knowing now that Rand would be all right. They had been pretty close, after all.
And for all she knew, touching the coral could very well do some good for him, too. Maybe he would feel better when he woke up as a result.
"Perhaps he'll feel better when he wakes up, if he touches the coral while asleep ..." she mused aloud, looking from the unconscious man to the coral, before continuing to stare at the coral thoughtfully.

Mat sets Rand's legs and feet down, making a gesture to ask if Perrin would make Rand touch the coral. Touching the stump of his left hand against the coral might freak Estellise out. She hadn't seen that he was missing an eye and Rand a hand. Rather, he didn't think she did. She hadn't said anything about it and the others who noticed had commented. And Mat didn't particularly like touching the coral.
"Pleasure to meet you too. And I flaming hope so." Even after thinking of Tuon, he can't help but think that Estellise was pretty, though she was too tall, too pale, and had too much hair. And this Estellise was no Nynaeve, who'd thump him for his language. If she even knew he was swearing.

Perrin caught the gesture, as well as a faint scent of wariness and dislike that tended to accompany any situation involving Mat and the Power. The coral was something else, but he was sure it belonged in that same category of things-Mat-didn't-trust. Obligingly, Perrin took Rand's limp right hand and pressed it against the coral.
No reaction.
He waited a few moments just to be sure and then laid the hand back down. He looked to Mat with a shrug. "Worth a try." He glanced to the girl. "Maybe it will help once he wakes."
no subject
As for their friend and the coral, though ... she nods, optimistic as per usual.
"Perhaps it will!"
no subject
He lets out a small sigh when he sees nothing happen, but he still mutters, "Burn me, I hope so." Sleeping for that long can't be good. No matter what happens. And they seemed to be talking in circles...so, he just picks up Rand's feet again.
"Thanks for telling us about that." He raises an eyebrow at Perrin and glances back the way they came with his one eye. Ready to head back? No point lingering here if it won't help Rand or anyone else, and it doesn't seem like it will.
