Selphie had promised some sparring to a few different people in the new year. She felt like she was beginning to get lazy, or maybe she was just restless. Believe it or not, she was a fighter at heart, and her whole life had been devoted to fighting and war. Things lately had been quiet, slow, and she really needed to get back into the swing of things.

Speaking of swinging, Selphie was in the park, practising large sweeping swings with her nunchucks. Magic really drained her in Vatheon, so she stuck to some physical combat for the time being. She had plenty of friends who wished to spar with her, whether they wanted to do it for fun, or because they too felt the need to keep their skills going.

If you go down to the woods today, you're in for a Selphie surprise - up early, battling hard with the air around her, occasionally punishing the ground or an unfortunate plant or tree.

Hey! No holding back!

[ But that smirk is challenging, if anything, as if trying to egg her on to use her magic. Sure, the city had taken away most of his more destructive capabilities but that didn't mean he didn't want to at least give a hundred and ten percent.

He stands his ground, however, waiting for her to approach before doing anything else. ]

*Argh, but Selphie was determined to better her skills in other ways. But magic was really her strength, and she was so sure she wouldn't use it.

However, as she struck out hard with her nunchucks, there might have been a small blizzard spell cast too - oops*

[ The incoming strike is once again countered by that sword blade but just as the prince was about to counter with a heavier sweep, the blizzard comes in. There's a momentary bit of surprise as practically freezes his hand to his sword handle.

But that surprise shifts back to a smirk as he pushes himself off the ground. Sure, it was no Overlord's Wrath but he could still do this much.

From the highest peak of his leap, he crashes down with a fist extended and slowly covering itself in flames. The impact upon landing would probably be enough to cause a small (read 1-2 diameter) crater. ]

*Selphie can't help but look a little satisfied, even if she was a bit shocked about using the magic that she'd told herself her wouldn't. It was too natural.

But by the time he's done with this display, Selphie is just staring open mouthed*

What IS that?

[ There's a self satisfied smirk as he pulls himself from the rubble. The flames covering his fist die down after a moment as he drives his sword into the ground. ]

Just a little something. City kinda nixed me but hey, still pretty awesome.

*Selphie smiled at that smirk before watching the flames disppear. She bows her head slightly and gives a sad nod*

Yeah... This place seriously drains all of my energy. It's hard, here.
