02 - and the Shadow shall lie across the Pattern of the Age
Who: Rand al'Thor and anyone who wants to bother him
Where: The plaza
When: Afternoon
Style: Action or prose, I can follow
Status: Open~
So Rand had planned on practicing drawing to help out Kratos, only to realize he had no supplies or anything like that.
And then to discover that okay, easels are heavier than he remembered. Or his side was acting up, either way, he needs to stop in the plaza or risk some bleeding problems.
But hey, the light is good enough, he can just. sit.. and work here!
So that's what Rand is doing. Being an one-handed artist. He's currently working on a group that looks rather like this. Only that top left man isn't in it, and its all just grays.
He stares at colors and grimaces. "These... I don't remember quite so well." He'll just get to work on group two, which doesn't have that man standing in the front. Why would he add himself to the picture?
(OOC: Lazy Samm is being lazy involving art.)

So don't mind him partially choking when he recognizes people in that first picture. "The Forsaken? Really Rand?"

Mat nods at that. "It makes sense. But do you really think that'd do much?"
no subject
"At the very least people can know they're dealing with the worst people our world can offer. Or close to the worst - some darkfriends are rather close. And some who aren't darkfriends..."

There's a pause and Mat turns to look at Rand. "Then...when you're done...Could you draw Tuon for me? If we're going to show them people to watch out for because they're dangerous, we should show them some who aren't bloody insane."

"... I'm assuming she usually doesn't wear ashes on her face, but I can try. I'll just use what I saw her in last." Finding another piece of paper.
no subject
Rand, watching you draw with one hand and find everything with it is actually a relief.
no subject
"All right." This will take a little longer, because he's trying to do more detail - and more guessing. She had a lot of ash on her face, but he's pretty sure it wouldn't be covering up some detail.
Really, all he has to do is study Mat. If he starts looking dreamy, its probably the right face.

And it seems Rand's doing a good job, for Mat is starting to stare dreamily at the drawing, after a while. It annoyed him that Rand had seen Tuon more recently than Mat had, but that just means that he's able to draw her more accurately. Not that Mat can draw. Light, he misses her...

And Rand eventually stops drawing, just to sit back and study Mat's expression. Yep. In love.

While he's looking at the portrait, he figures he may as well say something. "It really was an accident that we got married. Their vows are saying the other is your husband or wife three times, and then the other has a year to say the same three times." He doesn't think he needs to say more about that, so he falls silent. Rand really had done a good job on drawing her.

"I'm fairly sure that you can find a frame for it somewhere around here."
no subject
He absently nods at Rand talking about finding a frame.

Catching Rand's scent nearby, he wanders over to see what he's up to. For a moment, he just stands watching quietly. The subject of Rand's sketching doesn't surprise him so much as the quality.
"When did you pick that up?"
no subject
"Well, Lews was good. It's a little harder, because my hand isn't used to it."
no subject
"You seem to be managing well enough."
no subject
"... Longer than how long we've been away from the Two Rivers. Then picking it up again. I remember, a little, but not all of it... and more comes back."
