7th Combo
Who: Lloyd and anyone who might be interested
Where: Island
When: Backdated to the curse week
Style: [Action]
Status: Open
[Crack!]
Dammit, not again!
[Lloyd glares at the two broken sticks in his hand, frustration mounting. Ever since this curse started, he's been breaking everything. He'd always thought being super strong would be really cool.
It's not. Not when you can't control it. Bowls, cups, the door to his apartment, the coffee table he'd accidentally banged his shin against, it seems like everything he touches is shattering to pieces. Thankfully, he hasn't hurt anyone yet, but how long will that last if he can't control his strength? He doesn't want to avoid everyone for an entire week, or however long this curses lasts!
Assuming it isn't permanent. Despite having been here long enough to know that curses don't stay for very long, he can't quite dismiss the possibility.
So here he is, on the island, practicing picking up and touching things that no one will care if he breaks - mostly rocks and sticks. And logs. Whole fallen trees.
Okay, that's pretty cool.
But once again, when he'd picked up two sticks to swing like swords, the moment he'd tried to grip them properly, they'd snapped just like twigs. He doesn't even dare to use his own swords for this, and he'd left them back in his apartment. What if he breaks them, too? Dropping the sticks, he growls - yes, growls, no one's here, he doesn't care if he's losing his temper now - and to anyone sensitive to ki or mana, his uncontrolled emotions send his power level rising. A scouter would read his power at nine thousand and one.
Yes, it's over nine thousaaaaand!
But Lloyd doesn't know that. Still frustrated, he turns and kicks a convenient rock. It goes flying, disappearing from sight in a blink. He moodily watches where it went for a moment, then plunks himself on the ground.
Sitting on his tail. Oh yes, let's not forget the other thing that he'd gained besides super strength. Pain lances through his body, toppling him to his side - and mercifully off of the fuzzy brown appendage. Tears prickle in his eyes anyway.]
Ow ow ow ow ow! Augh, I hate this curse!

Ow ow ow ow ow! Augh, I hate this curse!

[She grins a bit; and she really does look a bit more lively compared to their previous meeting. But she kind of leaves it at that for now...
The tail is more interesting anyway. There's more staring.]
That must mean it's really a part of you now, huh? If it hurts.
[How weird...
She can't imagine having a tail. It'd be embarrassing.]
no subject
That's good. That you're feeling better, I mean. The other part not so much.
[He doesn't want the tail to be a part of him.]
But I guess it could be worse.
no subject
[That, she can agree with.
It could always be worse, yeah? And honestly, she's actually impressed that he can stay so sickeningly optimistic, even when he's in a bad mood, or things aren't going his way.
S'pose she should make sure, though--]
Well, you haven't hurt anyone, have you?
no subject
No. I haven't.
[
Not yet.The fact that he hasn't is a good reminder for him. He might be having trouble controlling his strength, but so far nothing as suffered that can't be fixed or replaced.]
Although I haven't been around people all the much. I've been kind of afraid I would hurt someone by accident.
no subject
She just offers him a look of sympathy.]
So you've been avoiding them...?
[People, that is. Probably a smart move, although it...]
Sounds a bit lonely. But it'll be over soon.
no subject
[He can't argue with her there.]
I mean, I can talk to people with the starfish, but it's not the same things. [He offers her a small smile.] It's... really good to see you, Yukari.
no subject
It's no different than a phone, or the internet. Where she's from, people take it all for granted, but she's never really thought those were the same thing, either. Not the same thing as face-to-face interaction.]
Yeah, it's... it's good to see you, too.
[She agrees easily enough. Maybe she's used to saying what people want to hear. Maybe it's just easier that way, though in this case, she actually does feel the same.
Her words are kind of mumbled and awkward though; and afterwards she ends up changing the subject.]
Hey. Um, have you thought of looking for someone who could help you with this?
[After all, that's kind of what she did.]
no subject
[He echoes the suggestion with surprise.]
What do you mean? You think there's someone who can keep me from breaking everything?
[Her distraction is successful, and he lets the previous topic drop.]
no subject
[She doubts anyone else can depower him-- only the Coral could do that, as far as she knew. But...]
I just mean maybe there's someone else who knows how to deal with that much strength. Or maybe even someone else who got the same power you did.
[Someone else he could work with?
...Something like that.]
no subject
Hey, that's a good idea. I should do something like that.
[Maybe someone who's been through the same thing can help him figure out a way to control this strength, or at least a way to cope.]]
Thanks, Yukari. Maybe you could do that, too!
no subject
I have.
I'm... I'm okay now.
[And he will be, too.]
no subject
That's good. So you still don't need my help?
[Not that he ever had any ideas what he could do to help, but then he doesn't know all that many details about what she's struggling with. If she needed help, though, he's figure something out.]
no subject
No.
But thanks, Lloyd.
[She gets the implication easily enough. She knows he'd definitely help, if he could.
If she asked.]
...If I need anybody beat up, I'll know who to call.
[Laughing a bit at that, because she's totally joking.
Mostly.]no subject
Now that I could definitely do.
So, I guess I should go see about finding someone who can help me.
no subject
Thank goodness he can take a joke! Although she's actually enjoying the beach quite a lot. The sound of waves and the sand beneath her feet.]
I'll probably stay here a bit longer, though.
no subject
All right. I'll see you later, then. Thanks, Yukari.
[He lifts a hand in farewell, then turns. Time to find a mentor.]
no subject
['And you're welcome.'
She watches him turn away; kicking her feet once in the sand, with a smile of her own. It'll be a rough week for the both of them, but...
They'll be just fine.]
