Capture the flagtheon

It is a beautiful day in Vatheon. The perfect weather for a capture the flag tournament.

Of course, it is always perfect weather in Vatheon for a capture the flag tournament --it's that island with its changeable weather you have to look out for-- but it was such a nice hook to start the post on.

Over in the forest quadrant everything has been set out for the tournament. The fields have been prepared, the flags are ready, the Vatheon mugs are stacked and ready and a few vendors have taken up spot on the edge of the mingling field just outside of the actually 'battle grounds'. The teams are... well, hopefully they are ready, cause this is going down now!


[ooc: Aight. Feel free to use this as a general mingling log even if you are not here to play in the tournament. Anyone is free to just stop by to watch. Or play a just for fun match on one of the fields once the actual matches are done. Go wild.]

Oh, you're right. It's too bad we didn't think about it before... We'll just have to do that some other time.

We can go to one of the vendors and get some food and do a little impromptu picnic. Not quite the same as making our own food but at least its still a picnic.

I approve of this idea. It would make watching the competition a lot more enjoyable.

[Fai grabs Tatsumi's hand and pulls him towards one of the vendors.]

This is kind of like a carnival! I'm sure we'll find all kinds of tasty things to eat.

[Again, he is surprised by Fai's enthusiasm, but he follows the blond man.]

Let's see what is being offered.

[Fai always gets excited by game like settings. He isn't used to anything like this and sees it as a new experience. He rather enjoys new and exciting things.]

Have you ever seen this type of game played before? I don't know anything about it.

[Looks at the different food stands and shakes his head at his question.]

No, I have never played it. But it seems the team who gets first to the flag wins.

I'm sure its going to be very exciting to watch. [He walks up to one of the food stands and studies the available items. Of course it seems to be a stand with mostly sweet things.]

[Tatsumi raises an eyebrow. Sweets. It figures.]

Yes, it shall be. So, sweets?

Ah..maybe we should start with real food first, right? [Fai tears himself away from that vendor to go to the next.]

[He smiles and chuckles.]

I wonder if we'll find real food here...

[Looks at the stands selling popcorn and hotdogs.] But I suppose it's fine for a picnic.

You aren't supposed to eat anything fancy on a picnic! These things will do just fine. We'll just have to make better things for next time. [He studies the food that is displayed more then the menu. He goes by sight and smell above all.]

Yes, I suppose you are right. [He looks around too, and finally decides to buy some popcorn, a sandwich and a fruit-flavored drink.]

[Fai decides to be daring and buys a hot dog with fries. He's never really seen food quite like that before and just gets water to wash it down.] It smells good at least.

Mmmm... That's a very American meal. [Like in a baseball game in America.]

American? [Fai lifts the hot dog up and studies it] I'm not sure I visited that world.

It's actually a country in my world. But it's very different than Japan.

And this is a food that is good from that country? [Fai smiles brightly.] Then I can't wait to taste it! I like trying new things.

Well, it's very common there. I'm not particularly fond of it, though.

Really? Why not? [Now he looks a touch worried. Maybe they eat strange things there..]

[Shrugs.] It's not really my type of food. [Kinda greasy, in his opinion.]

[behind_my_smile]

I will have to try it and see what I think. [Can eat just about anything~]

[cheapshinigami]

Go ahead, Fai-san. Don't let me discourage you from trying foods that are new to you. [Tatsumi is not exactly one to live out of the box.]

[Fai plops down on a bench, sets the container in his lap and picks up the hotdog. He sticks the end of the hot dog into his mouth and takes a bite. After chewing a little he smiles.]

It's different! I like it.

[He sits with Fai and munches on his popcorn.]

I'm glad you like it then. [Smiles a bit.]
