But who do you ask, when no one really knows
Who: Luke and whoever would like to find him
Where: The Plaza
When: Midday
Style: Whichever you prefer!
Status: Wide open
[It wasn't the fact that Luke was soaking wet that set off alarm bells in his head. That was expected, seeing how he was set to show up in the middle of a spring.
What made him go rigid and stare ahead of himself with wide eyes were his surroundings. There wasn't water around him like he expected, and this certainly wasn't some little grove. There were buildings, an entire city of them, and the water was above him, held back by some kind of dome.
He scrambles up to his knees with an arm in front of his face, as if he were expecting the water to just cave in right then and there.]
Uh... Tear, are you sure this is the right...
[He trails off when he looks to the side and sees no one. Well, not the person he's looking for. He slowly lowers his arm as he looks further back, then twists to look to his other side, and - still, there was no sign of Tear. At that point, Luke stands and takes a few steps back, as if hoping that will help him in his search.]
Tear? Tear! Mieu, are you around here?!
[Nothing. Not even an annoying "mieu". He runs his hand over the back of his hair and swallows to combat that nervous wad rising in his chest, and he takes another step back -
And he steps on something that's clearly raised a little higher than the ground. He turns with a frown on his face and lifts his foot, giving the starfish-shaped device a quick glance.]
What's this thing... A piece of fontech? Weird...
[And he nudges it away as he moves to the side, trying to find some help. Tear has to be around here somewhere; the Yulia Path couldn't have just flung him somewhere else entirely... right?]

You must have just been pulled here. Would you like to get inside and dry off a bit?
no subject
Still utterly distracted by his thoughts and his task, Luke takes the towel and dries off his hair, casting a quick glance back over the fact that there isn't much hair at all to dry, before he turns away to look across the plaza.]
I'm - uh... [Slow down, Luke, don't be rude. He lowers his shoulders just slightly before he raises them again.] I'm sorry, I can't right now. I'm looking for someone.
no subject
They may or may not be here. If you give me a name, perhaps I can help you? I have not met everyone in this city, but I have just about memorized the residency list for foreigners.
[It doesn't seem to occur to her just how creepy that is. It's just keeping track of the flow of people coming and going, isn't it?]
no subject
... Memorized the list?
All of that makes Luke look back at her, and actually look this time, and
ears.
NOPE, not gonna stare. He ducks his head down, busying himself with drying off rather than looking at her too much.]
Okay... Her name is Tear. Tear Grants? Does that... sound familiar?
no subject
[Zelda looks at Luke curiously. He looks so familiar! Rather than dance around the topic, she decides to try the direct approach for once.]
You were here too, I believe. May I ask your name? Mine is Zelda.
no subject
[He narrows his eyes down at the ground. How did Tear get here a month ago? Didn't they just get here?
... Maybe she passed through here before, and now she arrived somewhere else. Maybe.
The new question makes him raise his head up again - ears.
NOPE look at her eyes instead, man.]
Uh... Oh, wait, me? [He points at himself before he looks off to the side in thought. Maybe she meant Asch...?] I... I'm Luke. Luke fon Fabre.
[... Or should he even be calling himself that?]

Are you there, Guy? I think there may be someone that you want to see.
[Action]
Wait, Guy's here?
[He's really here? Maybe... Maybe it is just like he saw through Asch's eyes.]

{VIDJA}
Sort of.
Not really.
almost. Close but no banana. Certainly a relief to see after everything had happened, but at the same time... Well, it wasn't all bad. He'd just have to see what point Luke was from.
But here's Jade's face popping up on your screen, Luke.]
Someone arrived to the party rather late.
{VIDYA}
It's Jade... And Luke isn't sure how to feel about it. He'd been so disrespectful towards him, and he was sure Jade didn't like him at all now. Maybe hated him. It's certainly what Luke deserved, after all he's done.
The statement that Jade makes causes a sarcastic comment to bubble up, something about how he wouldn't call this a party. But Luke swallows it back, unsure if it'd be welcome or scoffed at or... what. So instead, he lets his mouth quirk up in a nervous half smile.]
Yeah, I... guess I did. Uh... Who all's here? [If he's late, doesn't that mean there are others here as well? Maybe ones he knows?]
{VIDYA}
[As per the usual, don't ask for explanations or information.]
What's the last thing you remember?
[Straight to the point, mostly as Jade wants to know where Luke is from and what should be let known to him. After all, his mannerisms lead Jade to believe he's early on in the journey. The Luke he had known was somewhat arrogant and snarky in his own, defeatist way. Regardless, gathering information was by and large the best way to go about this. With Guy snooping around about him and Peony on the loose, Jade had a lot on his hands. Adding Luke without knowing where he was from meant a lot of headache and annoyance that Jade didn't necessarily feel like dealing with.]
{VIDYA}
The last thing that he remembered?
I just made the worst mistake of my life and destroyed so many lives, I realized that my entire life was a lie and that I wasn't even a real person, everyone abandoned me and went with Asch, I cut my hair and decided that I will change, and Tear and I were just heading out to fix everything that I'd done.
...]
... I was heading to Aramis Springs with Tear. We just went through the Yulia Path.
[Forgive him if he keeps his own words short. He'd rather not expand more on that.]
{VIDYA}
Oh, Yulia this was going to be a headache. Not only was Luke dealing with recently figuring out he was a Replica, it was still unknown how much he knew about Jade's dealings in it, and the last thing he needed was Luke and Guy snooping around about him- specifically given Peony's big mouth. However, it did give him a good idea of where he was growth-wise as well as what to watch out for in conversations.]
The greeters should have given you some information as well as a towel so you don't end up smelling like a wet dog.
{VIDYA}
[If this were in the past, or even the future, he might have sounded a little indignant. He does not smell like a wet dog, thank you very much; there's a reason he takes a shower twice a day. But instead his voice is a little soft, a little neutral, carrying just a hint of that irritation. He's being careful, trying not to let his temper slip through.]
So... when did you get here, Jade? [Might as well turn this subject around and focus on him instead.]
{VIDYA}
[There's that take care of. Jade's almost impressed with the behavior, though he does remember that after Aramis Springs, Luke was trying the first of his "I want to change" fussing. He adjusted his glasses.]
Unfortunately, as you've probably heard, there's no returning to Auldrant as of now.
{VIDYA}
[He looks very unhappy about that. It still feels so weird, just... sitting here knowing what he's supposed to do back on Auldrant, but be unable to do anything.]
Zelda said time doesn't pass back on Auldrant, but... I still feel like I need to be doing something. I keep worrying about St. Binah.

Ruca will approach you, offering you a towel.]
Um... here.
no subject
[Luke takes the towel, and he starts to dry off his hair as he looks around. He's highly distracted, and he even takes a few steps away before he turns back to the boy.]
Hey, have you seen a girl named Tear? She's got long brown hair and blue eyes... I'm looking for her.
no subject
I'm sorry... I'm afraid I haven't seen her here.
no subject
... That wouldn't be right, would it? This person just tried helping him, and Luke should acknowledge that. So, he brushes off what his first instinct tells him to do, and he turns to face him.]
I... It's okay. I just need to find her as soon as I can... This is Aramis Springs, right?
[Maybe there's a whole city called Aramis... under water... with no springs around...]
no subject
[okay, it's better to tell him right away.]
You're... not in your world anymore.
no subject
He stares, jaw dropping open slightly... before he gives a nervous smile and takes a step away.]
Heh... Nah, that can't be. That kind of stuff isn't possible yet, right?
no subject
[okay, just say it.]
...We are trapped in a different world.
no subject
But - How?! I was just - I was just in Auldrant! If I'm not there then... then where the hell am I?!
