Who: Otoha and YOU!
What: The bar is open. It's booze time.
Where: The Crow's Nest (Otoha's bar)
When: Late afternoon Sunday - Early morning Monday
Style: Either!
Status: Open
Four in the afternoon. Time to open. Otoha makes sure the door to his room is closed and locked, and heads over to flip the sign on the front door to 'open'. Business has still been slow, but it's something to do at least. He heads behind the counter, sitting down and checking to make sure his sword is in grabbing range before cracking open a book.
Maybe someone would come in today. Hopefully.

[Otoha grabs a glass, checks it for streaks, and then turns to rummage some brandy off of the shelf. He finds it pretty easily and then pours it into the glass, sliding it over to the other man.]
Here you go.
[He leans against the counter, trying to place the guy's face.]
I haven't really seen you around - are you new here?
no subject
Ah, yes, I've really only been around for perhaps three weeks now? Four, almost. I've never been here before, but... this place is really amazing. This bar, I mean, it looks fantastic. I ought to bring my friend here, though he likely already knows the place.

[... Past tense. Oh well.]
Oh yeah? Who's your friend?

[He shrugs. He doesn't talk to a lot of people, really.]

As for food... I'm still working on that. I'm not the best at cooking.
[He holds up a hand, which has the remnants of an old burn. It doesn't look like it was too bad, thankfully.]
no subject
And I'm sure your cooking can't be all that bad, despite a few cuts or burns. [Believe him, he's practically British, he's used to sub par food.]

[... He chuckles at the last part. He's... getting more comfortable about telling people this, but it's still weird to him.]
It's just that I can't feel pain, so I have a habit of overcooking food and then grabbing it, not noticing that it's too hot.

[He just shrugs at the fact that he hasn't heard of someone with that condition. It's not like he's ever met anyone else with it, either.]
I do have a sense of touch. I can feel heat, pressure... just not pain. I think a doctor I went to a long time ago said it was genetic. And it was helpful with a job I used to have, at least.

[That last part catches Aziraphale's attention, makes him a bit curious.] Pardon me for asking, but what do you mean a job you used to have? [Perhaps he's being a bit too prying with his bartender... then again he's the one who lead them down this conversation in the first place.]
no subject
[... He hesitates a moment. Oh well. He did sort of lead into it.]
Well, I was the guardian of my city before I came here... but before that I was basically a hitman for the yakuza.

[He chuckles a little. Interesting is a good word for it, from an outsider's point of view.]
Otoha. I don't really go on the network that much.

[He waves it off. He's not that worried.]
You can just pay me that for both, if you want. Like I said, I'm not that worried about money here.

[He pulls out another glass and grins a little bit despite himself. Honest people...]

[Come to think of it, he lost all his wine stores back home after that fire. The thought of it is enough to make him crave the drink that much more.]
And I do hope you find some more work here... It'd be nice to come in for lunch.
