Ahiru threw her hands over her mouth, her eyes darting from side to side nervously. This didn't look like any place she had been to before. But hadn't Drosslemeyer just said that she was in the story? Why was it so different all of a sudden? How did she end up soaking wet? And what had happened to Fakir?

...Yeah, she was officially way too confused. "Um, Fakir?" She looked around the Plaza in confusion, from her current angle only seeing strangers wandering the area and a lot of unfamiliar buildings.

"Wh-Where am I...?"

"R-Right. Well that's very nice of them! I should probably get back home, though."

"I am afraid there is no means to home," Kenshin informed her. "I have been stranded here myself for over a year." It was the unfortunate truth in the matter.

"HUUUUUUH?! N-No way..." She suddenly looked both shocked and very worried. "But...if there's a way in there's gotta be a way out, right?"

Actually she knew from experience that wasn't true, but it was still worth asking.

"According to logic, yes," Kenshin agreed. "However, this land, Vatheon, seems to defy logic on a rather regular basis." First clue was that they were living inside a bubble.

Ahiru sighed. "Actually I'm kind of used to that..." she muttered. "This place still seems really weird, though. I've never seen a town underwater before."

"Perhaps you will adjust quicker than some," Kenshin noted. He'd seen varying degrees of adjusting. He himself took some time to adjust to a world he never knew and didn't fully understand.

"How long does it usually take people to get used to this place?" she asked, looking concerned. He'd been here for a really long time and if it was as strange as it looked...she'd probably never get used to it...

[echigo_wargod]

"It varies," he replied. "Few adjust immediately. Some take months. Others simply never do so." Not that he could blame them. This place was odd and foreign. Kenshin knew he had to adapt else he might find himself blindsided in an attack or an invasion, and he wasn't about to let that happen.

"N-Never?!" Ahiru sighs. Why did she think there was a good chance that was gonna be her? "It looks like a pretty big town, too..."

"You seem quite strong," Kenshin added. "I see no reason why you could not adjust to such a world."

[whatthequack]

"You think so?" She looks at him in surprise. Nobody had ever called her strong before. "Thanks, Mr.... Uhh..."

"Indeed I do," he nodded. He was an odd one, seeing strengths were others didn't. "Kenshin, lord of Echigo. A pleasure, my lady."

[whatthequack]

"Woah, that sounds...pretty important." She looked like she wasn't quite sure of this, however. "But it's nice to meet you, Mr. Kenshin! I'm Ahiru!"

He smiled softly. "In a sense." He was a samurai war lord. "A pleasure to meet you, Ahiru-dono," he offered a slight bow to accompany his very formal honorific.
