Won't anyone come and soothe my pain?

Another new arrival, another person waterlogged in the plaza. Today it's a young man, no older than seventeen or eighteen, in a heavy uniform of some sort that might actually be familiar to a few people in Vatheon. There's a pair of glasses near by, having fallen off his face at some point, and a very large double-bladed staff weapon under his right hand as if he'd been holding on to it moments before.

There's a small problem, though.

He's unconscious. And not moving.

We weren't? [ Tilt of the head - mew? Because that was clearly Lhant that she fought Richard. When Hubert mentions that he's injured, she reaches up with a hand to put it to his forehead. ]

Where does it hurt? [ It's her very best Cheria impression. Be honored. ]

[He shakes his head to her question, but he's too addled to think clearly enough to figure out what it means when she asks that.

He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to focus on just where it hurts. Ribs, head, those were the worst spots, and he gestures to them as such. Something must have hit him hard, hard enough to knock him out.]

[ Oh dear - he was hurt more than she had thought he had been in that fight. She tilts her head back, a gloved hand moving to pet him on the head, the way Asbel did when she was sad. ]

... I'm sorry... I let you get hurt.

I'll make it better, okay?

What?

[How did she let him get hurt? It didn't make any sense! And that face... oh, that's a punch in the heart.]

No, no, Sophie you didn't let me get hurt. It's... I'm fine. It happens.

[He reaches up and takes her hand away from her head. Not out of annoyance but because he feels bad now.]

Battles are dangerous. You know this...

[ She glances down briefly. ]

But I promised myself I wouldn't let any of you get hurt again.

[ And he's not fine! He may be bleeding INTEERNALLY. ]

Are you sure you're okay? Really?

[ She's going to perform a light healing spell anyway, so there. Cheria will do a better job later, she's sure. ]

[Well he might be. Maybe. He still doesn't remember how much he got knocked around. The healing spell is appreciated, though, and he offers her the faintest of smiles.]

Yes. Thank you, Sophie. I'll be fine.

[ S t a r e. Okay she accepts this response. ]

You should see Cheria so she can make sure. And Pascal will be happy to see you too.

They're here as well?

Yes. Pascal were here longer, but Cheria and I were here at the same time.

I see... And what of Asbel, or Captain Malik?

... [ She shakes her head slowly. ]

They aren't here yet.

... I see.

But you're here, and Cheria's here. They'll be here too.

Well, I suppose it's only a matter of time. Cheria does often say that Asbel is perpetually late.

[ She smiles at that. It's true, Cheria DOES say that. ]

Then when he gets here, we'll tell him so. [ He shouldn't make his family (future and otherwise) worry! ]

[Hubert actually smirks a bit in return.]

We'll just have to scold him properly then.
