Who: Eridan and Feferi
What: a "totally not pale at all what are you talking about we are just friends" feelings jam
Where: Eridan's place
When: early 4/16
Style: Action
Status: Closed!
[ What a party that had been! Feferi is still sort of buzzing with excitement from the whole thing. A lot went on last night. A lot. After checking to make sure that Vriska had managed to keep herself alive and breathing through the night, she decides that maybe paying her neighbor a visit as well might be in order. Gussying herself up, she makes her way over without even a word. Because that's what neighbors do, right? They totally just stop by at early hours just to pay visits and make sure the other hasn't managed to get themselves dead from a drunken stupor or something like that!
Plus it's kind of funny to see the look on Eridan's face when she stops by randomly.
Really, she does want to talk, besides just making sure he's alright. She's not exactly sure about what; there are some things she still has to do a good bit of thinking on, but bolstered by her conversation with Gamzee the previous night on certain palerom-related subjects, she's curious to test the waters, if she can. Soon enough, she's at their front door, knocking enthusiastically... now to hope he's awake, or that her knocking is enough to wake him up. ]

like getting hit by Dualscarweeh.][Either way, he lurches his way to the front door, looking less than his best as he opens the door, don't mind the slight bruise on his cheek there, Feferi, or how tired and down right exhausted he looks.]
... Fef? What--why?
[He should be used to this, he really should be.]
no subject
Eridan. I wanted to come by and make sure you survived the wild party last night. Can I come in?
no subject
[But he nods, taking a step back and opening the door more to allow her entry.]
So how'd you fair? I see you liwed, but that doesn't say much towards your ower all enjoyment.
no subject
[ For the sake of answering in the least awkward way, she'll just gloss over the couple little spats she had. It's probably for the best. She steps inside but doesn't go too far, turning back to face him once she's in. ]
What happened to you, anyway?
no subject
Well I... might hawe drank a few drinks I otherwise shouldn't hawe. Made kinda a fool a myself--maybe. I dunno. I mean--I had a good time and all so nothin' really happened.
[Dancing around a certain topic, because Fef doesn't need to know about that anyway!]
no subject
I meant your face. You want to get comfortable and tell me about it? Spoilers, the answer is yes because you know that's what'll happen eventually anyway, no matter how much you try and resist it!
no subject
[Of course. A hit like that would bruise up. It was strong enough to knock his plastered ass to the ground. He puts a hand to it, almost in an attempt to hide it, despite how fruitless of an endeavor that is when she's already seen it. He nods though, getting comfortable to explain what happened is definitely preferred than standing awkwardly in the door way like this.]
[So, he closes the door and leads her to the living room, not wasting any time to sit down to get off his feet, his head hurts enough from everything last night, standing isn't exactly something he wants to do right now. He shifts though, obviously uncomfortable with the idea of explaining what happened, but knowing he really can't weasel his way outta this one, just like she said a few moments ago.]
[He waits for her to take her own seat and get comfortable before he starts.]
Well, I mighta got hit last night.
[Perfect start aaw yiiis.]
no subject
Wait, what? By who? What did you do?
[ Well, of course if Eridan got himself hit, he had to have done something, right? It doesn't really occur to her that it might have been entirely uncalled for. Oops. ]
no subject
Does it really matter who or why? I didn't really do anythin', it's really not important.
no subject
[ Hope you like snuggles, Eridan, because Feferi is making a valiant attempt at getting an arm around his shoulder. She's pretty sure that whether or not she likes it, the snuggling is just another inevitability. ]
no subject
Fine. If you must know... Dualscar hit me.
[That really isn't the easiest to say even if he's laying it down rather blunt. Maybe he just feels a touch less vulnerable if he approaches it like it's no big deal--because it totally isn't! Getting hit is so normal, so why would getting knocked to the floor by his ancestor bother him? Exactly! You'd have to be crazy to think it is! That or, y'know, correct.]
no subject
But she really can understand. Even if her ancestor isn't someone she looks up to, she knows how easy it is to get emotionally invested in them. ]
Why did he do that? Besides being a jerk.
no subject
I mighta let what happens in the weil slip. Told him I'm the reason our race has no fuckin' hope left. So he backhanded me. I guess I can't fuckin' blame him for that much, I mean, I am the fuckin' chump who fucked that much up... But then he dragged me back to his hiwe, tellin' me all this bull-fuckin'-shit about how I don't take responsibility for my actions--which was some fuckin' claptrap if I ewer heard any. I might not be innocent, I'll admit that much--a-and maybe I fucked up... A lot, but I'we been tryin' my damnedest to make up for what I know is a lost cause to fix. So I don't know where he has the right to say any a that.
[Of course he's just gonna leave out the bit about Dualscar wanting to shape him up to be worthy of being his descendant. The other stuff hit him more deeply and has been plaguing him all night.]
no subject
Everything that happened in the Veil, she's emotionally invested in it too, but just to think about the other troll trying to butt in on it makes he fins bristle just a bit. ]
That's because he doesn't have the right to say it. What happened in Sgrub and in the Veil isn't his business at all. He knows hoofbeastcrap about what happened, or what you've done to try and fix it.
[ Breathing in deep, she calms herself before she goes and gets herself all worked up over Dualscar, instead of worrying about the violet-blooded troll that's in front of her at the moment. ]
I know he means a lot to you, and you've looked up to him pretty much your whole life, but maybe it's time to consider that he's not as great of a troll as you thought he was. Especially not if he's going to hit you like that.
no subject
Look. He might not know jackfuck about what happened in the weil--and he ain't got the right to really say what I hawe or hawen't done, but if I was half the troll he is... I probably wouldn't hawe done what I did.
[And that's when his shoulders slump and he somewhat sinks in on himself. Maybe he does need to be shaped into a better troll. A stronger troll... but what would that mean for him and Karkat? What about him and everyone? He's still not sure what all Dualscar plans to do with this and that worries him.]
no subject
[ It's obvious she doesn't really mean that too seriously, but that she's managed to get herself all worked up, despite all her efforts to the contrary. ]
no subject
Fef, calm down. If that were the case then why was he so fuckin' pissed at me for doin' what I did? I think you're projectin' a lot onto him--but, as for him wantin' ya to be a mini wersion of your ancestor, well... I don't downright agree with that, but I'm not surprised.
[But her never talking to him again if he winds up like him... That prospect hurts--probably more than he's willing to let on.]
... Well, then I guess I should tell ya that he wants me to meet with him ewery ewenin' cos' he wants to shape me into a proper descendant, one right for his legacy.
[It's almost comical how disappointed and down he sounds about all of this. That entire run in with Dualscar was everything Eridan never wanted to deal with or hear, and then this now, Feferi trying to cram it into his head that his idle for practically his whole life is nothing but a terrible troll. Eridan doesn't want to accept that, doesn't want to hear it anymore than he wanted to hear that he's not fit for being Dualscar's descendant--that Dualscar needs to shape him into what's appropriate for him. That Dualscar needs to 'fix' him.]
[He's just so fucking tired of having to be 'fixed' when he's pretty sure he isn't broken.]
no subject
[ As angry as she's getting, she's only hugging him tighter, like if she doesn't, he might leave right then and there and then who knew what would happen? They've already come a long way in a very short span; she knows she's lucky for that. The last thing she's going to do is lose that to some old, grouchy seatroll who thinks he knows her ex-moirail better than her. ]
Listening to him would just set you back, you know it would. Eridan, I know you made mistakes. I know you know you made mistakes, but so did we. Becoming like him is just going to make things worse, and you know he doesn't want you happy, he just wants you obedient. Besides, who knows you better? Me or him?
no subject
[He's not even sure why he's trying so hard to defend Dualscar. Probably because he's been his idol and hero for so long, and to hear Feferi say such things about him definitely is making him get defensive.]
Look, he's not gonna ruin anythin'--he's not gonna make me like him. I'm not exactly sure what all he plans to do, but from the little bit I dealt with... I don't think his aim is pinnin' me against you guys. I wouldn't allow that anyway. I know I don't got any right to say this, but hawe a little faith in me.
[It's then that he, however reluctantly, puts his arms around her. Trying to reassure her if anything.]
And that's a stupid fuckin' question. You do, obwiously.
no subject
I just don't understand what it matters, having a legacy, if you're going to be miserable for the rest of your life to get it. Why worry about it? You could spend your afternoons getting smacked around by a jerk like that, and maybe when you're gone someone will mention your name once or twice. Or you could spend that time with Karkat, or... with me! People here don't even care if you're some old-fashioned Alternian idea of a proper seadweller.
no subject
I'm gonna spend my time here with Kar--and you, nothin' is gonna change that, alright? I won't let it. I'm not about to sacrifice ewerythin' I worked so hard for if it means impressin' Dualscar... But at the same time I do want to meet with him, maybe not for him to shape me into what he wants, but I think in some aspects this might fuckin' help me in ways...
[Ways that others can't. Eridan's not some easily rewritten thing, shit it took Karkat nearly 6 months to get shit through his head, and while he does hold Dualscar in high regards, he also has seen happiness, has felt it, and it's not something he's going to so willingly give up. If he was going to do that, he would have ran off to Dualscar in the beginning and ditched everyone else.]
I can't exactly explain it, Fef, but... I don't think he's tryin' to fuck me ower, alright? I mean, yeah, he hit me, that was kinda bullshit an' all--[Still kinda hurts to think about.]--but... I want to giwe him a chance. I mean, Fef, you gawe me a chance, Kar gawe me a chance--seweral chances, so it's only fair I giwe him one as well.
no subject
Then promise me you won't do things just because he says so? I still don't like him and I definitely don't trust him... And also if he ever hits you again, you'll tell me and Signless, right?
no subject
I promise I won't, I'll fuckin' think before I do anythin' he might tell me to do--but, why Signless?
[He gives her a curious look at that. Guess who doesn't know about Signless<>Dualscar!!]
no subject
What, you didn't hear? They're moirails now, Dualscar told me himself. And I think his moirail deserves to know about that kind of thing!
no subject
... Oh. Oh wow, fuck I had no fuckin' idea--Signless? Really? Hmm... Well, I'll be sure to inform the two a you then, alright?
[Though, this just further proves--at least in Eridan's eyes--that this thing with Dualscar probably won't be as bad as Feferi thinks. If he's allowed himself to become moirails with Signless, then obviously he's changing and not for the worse.]
