Why So Cold Vatheon?

Selphie had been in Vatheon for over a year - she knew the score by now; people came, people went. The number of friends she'd seen come and go was...too much to think about. But everyone so often, Vatheon would whisk away a friend that she couldn't quick forgive the place for stealing from her.

It was slightly cooler, but Selphie sat outside the cafe, a large hot chocolate in front of her. There's a small plate with several empty cake wrappers on, and a larger tray with a pile of various cakes and slices that haven't been touched yet.

The usually cheery, very enigmatic girl is sat alone with her treats. What's up? Go say hello, cheer her up, or just pester her.

*Patting the chair beside her, Selphie pushes the tray of cakes so that it would sit between them*

Come try some!

[... He stands there for a few moments, not surprised by the offer but unsure how to take it.

It'd have been so easy to refuse before, but now, when he's trying to see if he can forgive humans...

... What would be the right choice to make here?]

... I suppose there's no harm in it.

*Uh...okay. Selphie looks shocked, if only for a second, but she blinks it away into a big smile. She pushes the tray closer and leans forward to inspect what different kinds of cake are left*

So... do you like chocolate cake or fruit cake best?

[He has absolutely no idea what he's doing.]

... Considering that I just said I don't have a particular opinion on cake, I'm afraid I can't answer that.

*Selphie smiles and picks him out a lemon slice and a double chocolate one*

Try each of these then, and lemme know! They're both delicious, I promise!

... If you insist.

[Welp. Trying the lemon one—]

*Selphie nods brightly - of course she insists! And she'll continue to watch his expression as he eats, waiting for a verdict*

It's... good. I suppose I can see why you ordered so many.

*Selphie sits up and claps her hands in delight, then pushes a chocolate slice towards him*

Totally! What about this one?

[... Her energy is contagious. Tiir's mouth twitches, curving into a more genuine smile for a moment before it goes back to more of a smirk.]

You're rather enthusiastic about this, aren't you?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie nods and selects her own slice of lemon cake for her plate*

Uh huh! But don't be mistaken, Tiir. Cake is a very serious business!

*She narrows her eyes and taps the side of her nose*

[That gets a chuckle out of him.]

Oh? First I've heard of that.

*Selphie blinks at Tiir and tilts her head - this was...nice. Actually it was like they were enjoying each other's company. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she didn't want to jinx it. She's smiling too much anyway*

We-ell, you're not really an expert until you've tried at least two more kinds of cake anyway...

Those seem like rather low standards for being an expert.
