Why So Cold Vatheon?

Selphie had been in Vatheon for over a year - she knew the score by now; people came, people went. The number of friends she'd seen come and go was...too much to think about. But everyone so often, Vatheon would whisk away a friend that she couldn't quick forgive the place for stealing from her.

It was slightly cooler, but Selphie sat outside the cafe, a large hot chocolate in front of her. There's a small plate with several empty cake wrappers on, and a larger tray with a pile of various cakes and slices that haven't been touched yet.

The usually cheery, very enigmatic girl is sat alone with her treats. What's up? Go say hello, cheer her up, or just pester her.

Selphie couldn't help but giggle as she watched Hideyoshi - despite all that she might have heard from him, he sure was a bright and cheery kind of guy, and that was refreshing.

She swallowed her mouthful and her eyes light up a little, "Mmhmm! It's good. Kinda weird, but good!"

Weird but good sounded about right. In fact, Hideyoshi nodded with a mock-thoughtful expression. "Yup. That describes just about anything here, doesn't it?" He chuckled, then pulled up a chair next to her.

"Do you mind? I don't think I ever tried anything in this particular place. And it's all free so it's a crime not to!"

Selphie tilted her head, just watching him, but smiling when he took the seat next to her. She nodded, quite happy to let him sit with her - despite everything, she enjoyed his company.

"Sure! And there's so much stuff from so many places, that it'd be silly not to try it all." She slid the plate of cake slices towards him.

The cake was a little unexpected, he'd mostly hoped she wouldn't mind the company, but the last thing Hideyoshi was about to do was complain. Not about cake, oh no, never about cake.

"Thank you!" He picked one up with a big grin and bit into it. "Ahh, I'm never going to get used to how sweet they make sweets here. If I ever wind up back home, I could never eat bean paste ever again!"

Selphie watched as he took that first bite, just really hoping that he would enjoy it. Of course, if he was anything like Kenshin was with sweets, then the reaction would be similar. And it was. She giggled loudly and pulled another petal from her marzipan rose, "That's just want Kenshin said!" Or there abouts, in his super-elegant way.
