[ There wasn't any sort of set plan, but by the time six o' clock rolls around, Feferi presumes it's as good enough a time for a date as any. She fires off a communicator message to Sollux inviting to her hive, the sets off on the age-old ritual that has managed to transcend time, space, and societal lack of inclination towards fashion: raiding the closet for the perfect outfit. While Feferi's never been as big on fashion as Kanaya, she likes having a little more variety in her closet, and opts for a simple sun dress with a floral pattern. Instead of having her sign sewn onto the garment, she throws on a silver necklace with her sign on it and calls it a day. Good enough, right?

It's a nice enough evening to wait out on the porch. She has some ideas about what to do but nothing too concrete, waiting to see what comes of the night. She knows there's an implied goal here, but she's not too concerned about it. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. She just wants to know where they stand and find out on their terms, rather than on accident. ]

Sollux!

[ She quite literally bounces as she spots him, skipping to meet him half-way and throwing her arms around his shoulders. ]

Ready to go?

[He hugs her back, grinning, and nods as he draws out of her embrace, taking her hand]

Lead the way, Princess!

[ She squeezes his hand and starts off down the street. She's not in any particular rush to get where she's taking them though. ]

How are you holding up?

[ It's not small talk if she's genuinely interested. It always does well to make sure your Sollux is in full working order. ]

[He's so rarely in full working order, too! But now he smiles and points to his red eye]

I'm pretty good. Look! Equius gave me a new lens after I went and yelled at him.

I noticed! I didn't want to say anything before, but them both being blue was just plain wrong.

[ And just for that, she curls her arm around his a little more. ]

I hope you yelled at him extra for me, that guy is so grouchy, and not in a cute way like you and Karkat!

It was totally wrong. [He snuggles in, grinning] But yeah, I yelled at him over a few things, mostly him being a high-- Uh, a douchebag. But we dealt with it, I guess.

[ She heard that, Sollux. She's just going to pretend she didn't, though. ]

Uh oh. What else did he do?

[He didn't mean Feferi, of course. >.>;;

He sighs] Well, it turned out that he fucked with the eyes in another way, too. He made it so they'd fire lasers every time I look at Eridan. My ancestor says he's not someone someone of my blood should trust.

Wait, what?? Is Eridan okay? [ No, wait... ] Are you okay? Why would he--

That's dangerous! People could have gotten hurt, and not just the two of you! Ugh. He's not someone anyone should trust. That's just rotten.

[Shoosh. He paps her on the arm]

Yeah, yeah. They weren't really dangerous lasers. They just gave him a shock. In retrospect, it was pretty funny!

Anyway, we worked it out, FF. I went and yelled at him, and he fixed them.

[ Huff. ]

Good. I hope he felt really bad.

I don't know... but he did give me the lenses, so I guess I made some kind of impression. He got really huffy at me, and accused me of being bloodist, and all sorts of shit, too.

I mean, how can I be prejudiced against highbloods if I'm with YOU?

[ Naturally, said with a heavy dose of sarcasm. ]

Gosh, Sollux, how could you??

[He grins] Exactly! Honestly I nearly fell to my knees and wept at how I'd wronged him.

As you very well should.

[ Trying so hard not to collapse into a fit of giggles. ]

How are you just consistently always the greatest? Like, does it get hard, sometimes?? Being so adorably awesome?

Wow, no, it's totally just how I am. [He blushes deeply, though] How else could I possibly attract someone as amazing as you, anyway.

Just hatched that way, huh?

[ Gosh that's just too cute. ]

Good thing you were my server player. I don't know if we'd ever have had the chance to talk otherwise!

That's true. [He often thinks about that, actually.] You might be, I dunno, Gamzee's matesprit or something.

That would have been weird! The whole game would have been different...

[ It looks as though she's bringing them to the elevator... ]

[He follows her onto the elevator, curious where they're going]

Yeah, that's for sure. I guess it would have been a doomed timeline, though.

Yeah...

[ They're going up, silly! But the thought doomed timelines doesn't seem like a very positive topic, so she changes it swiftly. ]

I hope it's dark enough outside!

Oh, we're going outside? [He looks up as the elevator rises, nervous] What if the sun is up?

The sun is safe here! I go outside during the day all the time. Besides, it shouldn't be, it should be getting close to night time, which is what we want.

Oh really? Okay. [He's sure she wouldn't be dumb enough to take him out in the burning sun if it were dangerous, but he did have a moment of wtf just then] I guess it was dumb to be worried.

That would be a pretty terrible date, huh?

[ At the top of the elevator, she steps out first, onto the island where the sun's set, the horizon still glowing and the stars starting to dot the sky where it fades from pink to purple to dark blue. The moon is already starting to rise, even. ]

Oh. We're early! Well, we can find a spot and get comfortable.
