[ There wasn't any sort of set plan, but by the time six o' clock rolls around, Feferi presumes it's as good enough a time for a date as any. She fires off a communicator message to Sollux inviting to her hive, the sets off on the age-old ritual that has managed to transcend time, space, and societal lack of inclination towards fashion: raiding the closet for the perfect outfit. While Feferi's never been as big on fashion as Kanaya, she likes having a little more variety in her closet, and opts for a simple sun dress with a floral pattern. Instead of having her sign sewn onto the garment, she throws on a silver necklace with her sign on it and calls it a day. Good enough, right?

It's a nice enough evening to wait out on the porch. She has some ideas about what to do but nothing too concrete, waiting to see what comes of the night. She knows there's an implied goal here, but she's not too concerned about it. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. She just wants to know where they stand and find out on their terms, rather than on accident. ]

[He settles in, too, slipping his arm around her waist and stretching out on his back.] Thanks for what?

For being there for me in the Veil. And being willing to give up what you did to protect me.

[He was silent for a few moments] Is that really how you saw it?

The way I saw it, we protected each other. And you really helped me when I actually needed it. Because everyone needs help sometimes, right?

Yeah. [He thinks about that for a bit] And here I thought I got into a stupid fight with an idiot, and got you killed.

No. He would have had me killed either way, whether it was... what happened, or leading Jack right to us.

[ Weh. This is not the most romantic turn of conversation. ]

Things really are better now, though. You know I worked things out with him.

[Yeah, not really. He nods and turns to the side, giving her a kiss on the cheek]

Yeah, things are better. And thanks for saving me.

[ She returns the gesture with a little kiss to his nose, before she turns her gaze skywards again. As the sky rapidly darkens, more and more of them become visible. ]

It makes me miss home. A lot.

Yeah? [He's not entirely sure he misses home. He snuggles in closer, looking up at the sky] I'm sorry that you're homesick...

No, but it's okay! We're going to make a new home here.

[ Resting her head against his shoulder, she cuddles in and gets comfy. ]

Right?

Right. [He sighs and relaxes a bit, resting his head against hers and careful of their horns] I'm okay with staying here, I think.

[ Horns: the bane of troll romance everywhere. ]

Are you really?

Yeah. [He shrugs a little] I don't really feel like there's anything for me to go back to. In fact, the more I learn about troll culture, and what faces us as adults, the more I feel like I'm almost glad we wiped out every single one of them.

Oh. Yeah...

[ Kids and Fun. Just can't stop bringing up those sad topics. ]

We should ask if we can stay here forever, then.

[He doesn't mean to make her sad. He shifts onto his side, wrapping his other arm around her and giving a hug]

Let's do that. Who do we ask?

I dunno. I'll find out tomorrow. Right now, I think you're due for a dose of cuddles, followed by a healthy serving of smooches.

[ She turns to him as well, draping an arm around his waist and touching noses. ]

Yeah, I definitely think I am. In fact, I think the doctor prescribed that I have cuddles at least two times a day!

I don't know, I might be doomed. [He's grinning, though, and cuddles in close] We should get on those smooches, if I need that many.

You're right. That's exactly what I was going to suggest!

[ Smooching: commence! At least, in the form of cheek kisses. She can't help if he's got such a kissable face. ]

[ She shouldn't be as surprised as she is, but she doesn't mind it at all. Nope. Not one bit. This date was supposed to be for stargazing! But instead she sinks easily into a cozy little makeout session. ]
