[One of Night's favorite past times was going up to the island to do a number of things: hunt small wildlife, toss around in flowers, and sunbathe. The normal life of a cat, really.

But after a few recent events he feels like maybe coming up to the beach, not just by himself, but with everyone else, could be a good thing. Who didn't love being out in the sun all day?

Which is just what he does, leaving most everyone in the Villa a message asking them to join him at the beach Friday morning. It isn't a party only because he has no idea what to do or bring for a party, but the intent was to have fun and relax.]

[Was Anya invited? Of course not. But a bunch of people going up to the island spells party, and that means free food and drink. Not that it isn't all free anyway, but this is more easily accessible food and drink. Plus she's spotted several demons, so it seems like her kind of crowd.

Having obtained a cool albeit non-acoholic drink, Anya approaches the only girl she sees sunbathing, wearing a simple but perfectly stunning black bikini of her own. She's fairly certain it's one of those human beach rituals to lie around looking sexy and see what the men do.]

Someone had the right idea today. Mind if I join you?

[ Actually, yes, that's pretty much it. Lay around and look hot. Because Liz sure as heck isn't actually going to go into the water. It's salty and gross and there are things living in it that are slimy and would brush up against her. ]

Nah, go right ahead!

[ She even scoots over a little to make more space. ]

I'm Liz.

Anya.

[She settles herself down, sipping her drink. So far she doesn't have any plans to go in the water herself, although she has no problems with slimy.]

Are you part of this crowd or are you crashing, too?

[proudsister]

Part of the crowd, actually. I live in the same place as all of these guys.

[ Liz sort of waves her hand in the direction of where everyone else is at, most of them seeming to be splashing around in the water. ]

From the same world as... well, just one of them, actually. The cute girl with the pigtails.

[Anya looks over in that direction to watch them for a bit.]

I haven't figured out if it's more common to have someone else from your world or not. Some people seem to have quite a few acquaintances along.

I have a few. A handful, really. I think the Villa is an exception; just about everyone living there is only from two places. A lot more people seem to only have one other person here, or no one at all...

It's sad.

I've been doing quite well for myself.

Well, not for everyone then, I guess. Lotion?

[ Liz offers up the bottle of suntan lotion that she'd been rubbing into her skin. ]

Oh! Thank you, I always forget about that.

[She takes the offered bottle and starts to rub some on herself.]

You'd think after all this time, humans might have evolved not to have such delicate skin. Then again, at least we don't catch fire and explode into dust.

No, but sometimes it feels like it'd be easier than suffering the burn!

[ Seriously she's gotten some pretty bad burns before, when she was younger and less cautious. ]

I have a sister who would have way too much fun poking me.

The burning sensation would be briefer, but much more fatal. I'm not a fan of fatal.

True. Though I guess if it happened around here, it wouldn't matter much.

[ They're playing with the laws of life here. Though to be fair, a teacher did become a zombie back home... ]

You're kidding, right? It still hurts.

[proudsister]

But it's temporary! And then poof, you're back, good as new.

Physically, yes, but there could be mental scarring. Have you ever raised the dead before? It's not pretty.

[proudsister]

Not personally. There was a teacher at my school who came back from the dead, though!

[ shiver ]

He grosses me out.

He announced it publicly? That's unusual.

[proudsister]

Well, it was sorta hard not to tell. I mean, he was at school one day all alive, and then he died. We all know he died. But then he came back a little while later. Friends of mine were there when he popped back out of his grave, too.

[ she says this so casually like it's not something to be alarmed about ]

[Anya isn't alarmed either, but she does feel gypped.]

That sounds a lot simpler than it's really meant to be.
