Chapter 4 | Bar Fights

Who: Angelo and anyone in Vatheon.
Where: One of the local restaurant bars.
When: Early afternoon into the rest of the day.
Style: First/Action.
Status: Open!

[Good afternoon Vatheon. Should your character be walking by one of the local restaurants, there will be a loud ruckus going on inside. Why? Because our dashing hero Angelo has unintentionally started a bar fight. The scene shows screaming people (both men and women) who are running out in terror while others are joining in the brawl (throwing furniture, punching, kicking, etc), broken objects (windows, chairs, drink glasses, etc) and lots of shouting. Where is Angelo among this you ask? He's sitting on the bar counter watching everything. Instead of going work at the host club or being around people much these days, this is what he's doing and the fight itself? Not entirely his fault per se. So if your character wants to watch the scene, try to break it up, or even talk to him by coming inside among the madness... It's all up to you!]

[The sounds of the fight are what drew Lloyd's attention first. Then, of course, the people leaving in a hurry.

Huh? What's going on?

Curiosity and concern warring, Lloyd weaves his way in to investigate, dodging elbows and feet as best he can while sticking to the fringes of the brawl. He's still trying to figure out who exactly is fighting and if it's serious when he spots a familiar face at the bar. He starts in surprise.]

Angelo!

[beauchevalier]

[Angelo brightens up at the sight of Lloyd coming in. He even waves at him with a smile.]

Lloyd! Pull up a chair and watch the show with me!

[redcladidealist]

[Lloyd stares at Angelo, then has to hurry to dodge a fist.]

What, are you crazy? Angelo, this isn't a show, it's a fight! Somebody might get hurt!

[beauchevalier]

[Angelo blinks and also raises an eyebrow.]

Is this something you're not accustom to back home?

[redcladidealist]

Hey, I've seen brawls before. That doesn't mean I want to stick around. Half those guys are probably drunk. They're just as likely to hit me as they are to hit anyone else!

[Finally reaching Angelo's side, he reaches out to try to take hold of the other's arm.]

Come on, let's get out of here.

[beauchevalier]

[He allows Lloyd to take his arm and starts leaving with him.]

Oh very well. I was hoping to stay for a bit longer so we could enjoy the action, but alas.

[redcladidealist]

[Lloyd shoots Angelo an incredulous look.]

You're crazy, you know that?

[Yeah, heading outside now, hopefully well away from the bar.]

What would you have done if someone had hit you in there?

[beauchevalier]

[He starts snickering before replying.]

I've avoided being hit before in bar fights and I can do it again. Also call me crazy if you wish, but I thought it was fun.

[redcladidealist]

[Making it outside without being accosted by anyone else in the bar brings enough relief for Lloyd to let out a breath, then make an attempt at a light punch to Angelo's arm.]

You weirdo.

[He shakes his head with a rueful half-smile.]

So, what were you up to? Before the fight broke out?

[beauchevalier]

[He at least tells him some truth to this whole scenario.]

I was playing cards with a couple gentlemen. Then things started getting out of hand and before I knew it, this happened.

[redcladidealist]

[Oh Angelo. So subtle. Too subtle for Lloyd to catch the hint that Angelo was probably the reason the whole fight broke out in the first place.]

Remind me to play cards in places that don't have fights like that.

[He took a breath and let it out, feeling some of the adrenaline start to fade. His worry ebbed, leaving room for other thoughts to start to pop into his head. Which reminded him...]

Hey, I met your brother the other day. Did you know he was here?

[beauchevalier]

[Angelo decides to act as he usually does since he doesn't want a reminder of Marcello's presence.]

Trunks? Oh I didn't know he was back. I should have given him a fond hello.

[redcladidealist]

[Once again, too subtle. Lloyd just doesn't pick up on hints like that. He lets out a breath.]

Not Trunks. I mean your real brother. Marcello. I don't think Trunks has come back.

[beauchevalier]

[Sorry Lloyd, he's going to play it off.]

Marcello? I'm afraid I don't know anyone with that name. Let alone a family member of mine.

[redcladidealist]

[Oh, no. You've tried to pull this trick on him before, Angelo. He's onto you this time.]

Come on, Angelo. I'm not falling for that again. He looks just like you. [Well, more like Vegeta, but he'd already cleared that up.] I mean, except for his hair, but you know what I mean.

[beauchevalier]

[Oh no you did not say that, Lloyd.]

He looks and is nothing like me. Don't ever make such a comparison again.

So he is your brother.

[He feels a brief burst of triumph for pinning Angelo on that before he lets out another breath.]

I didn't say he was like you. I just mean I can see the family resemblance. What's wrong with that? Your brothers, right? A lot of brothers look like each other.

[beauchevalier]

[This is a sore subject for Angelo. A really sore subject.]

Because he wishes I never existed. That's why I hate being compared to him and want nothing to do with him.

[redcladidealist]

That's not true! [Lloyd gestures for emphasis.] Maybe he doesn't know how to say it, but he does care about you. He even said he'd give you another chance if you came and asked him for one.

[beauchevalier]

[Angelo grips Lloyd's shirt collar. Lloyd can see the anger in Angelo's eyes and in his tone of voice when he does this.]

I pitied him once, I'm not doing that again. Not now or ever.

[redcladidealist]

[Whoa, hey, Lloyd might be friendly and forgiving on a regular basis, but that's crossing a line, Angelo. Especially since it seems to come out of nowhere. Lloyd's caught off guard for a moment before he shoots Angelo a confused scowl and tries to pry the other man's hands off.]

Hey, I wasn't asking you to pity him. What's wrong with you? I thought you'd be happy he said he'd be willing to try again!

[beauchevalier]

[He lets go and sighs before turning his head away from Lloyd.]

I spoke to him after I heard his conversation with you. I told him to leave you and everyone else alone then we got into an argument.

[redcladidealist]

[Lloyd's brow furrows.]

Wait, how did you hear our conversation? We were using our starfishes. And he didn't do anything to me. Why would he need to leave me alone?

[beauchevalier]

[He sighs.]

It wasn't filtered, Lloyd. Anyone who doesn't have a filtered conversation can be heard over the network. I thought you understood that living here for so long. And furthermore, I'm telling him to leave my friends alone because he'll manipulate all of you against me. I know how he works.
