[Day 126] - piggyback rides are happen.

While waiting on Vanitas's reappearance, Roxas was spending a fair amount of time around the plaza. But, well before finding his would-be murderer, he was located by someone with different intentions entirely.

It had been a while since Roxas had seen Chibi, and even longer since he'd made that promise about giving him a ride. But in short order a reminder had been communicated (with the help, maybe, of a flying tackle), and they set to work figuring out how this feat was supposed to be accomplished.

That was how it happened that anyone in the middle district might spot Roxas carrying the god-puppy piggyback through the streets, looking quite a bit more cheerful than recent days. Because it was just way too hard to keep a straight face like this.

[Roxas grins a little at the girl. She seems to know Chibi at least.]

I kinda owed him.

Arf! [Rinoa! Check it out! For once, Chibi is the one doing the riding!

You have likely never seen him looking more ecstatic than the ecstatic he is right now.]

You owed a dog a piggyback ride...? Well then.

[He DOES look pretty darn happy. Rinoa can't and won't fight the smile as she steps over and gives Chibi the usual scratch behind the ears.]

Well, he's a little small for the other way around...

[Roxas stays still. He can't exactly see Chibi's expression, but he can practically feel the joy radiating from him.]

[Chibi nods vigorously, resisting the urge to wag his tail too hard for fear of hitting Roxas with it.

He looks a little sheepish at Roxas' comment, though his expression quickly shifts to determined. He'll be big enough to give all his friends in Vatheon a ride one day!]

Mm, that's true. For now. He'll grow up one day. Puppies don't stay puppies for very long. [Her tone's a little wistful. She's gone through that herself, having watched her dog from back home grow up.]

Eventually. He did say gods grow up slower.

[...Oh yeah, he did say that, huh? He likely won't be in Vatheon long enough to give all this friends a ride.

Pondering this, he thinks maybe he can ask Momma to give them rides in his place.]

He... said that? You were able to talk to him?

[Chidori has quite a bit of crushed papers around her bench, and is trying not to draw what she's been usually drawing these days - but it's not working so much. Her current sketch, however, is of the coral. She pauses when Medea feels that strange presence they had the first day nearby, and she recognizes it as that puppy.

... It was different than the dog those people had, in feeling, but why would an animal have such a great power? Hm. It would be useful to bring back something for Takaya, so Chidori raises her hand with the pencil in it with a small wave as her other flips do a new page.]

Hold still.

[Roxas blinks and pauses, looking over at the girl. Noticing the paper and pencil, he tilts his head curiously.]

Are you- an artist?

[sonlight]

[Chibi was about to bark in response until he remembered- wait! She'd asked them to stand still! So he freezes up as best he's able, though that makes it a little more difficult to hold on.

He's more used to being the artist than the subject thereof, you see.]

No. I like to draw, that's all.

[She studies the pup for a second, then starts to sketch, thankful for something new.]

Are you his owner?

Owner?

[Roxas clearly never thought anyone would make this assumption.]

Little Sun's not a pet.

Woof! [Nobody is this pup's owner!

Though he imagines Roxas wouldn't be too bad of one, really.]

He looks like one. If he isn't, then what is he? [Not many people believe in the gods anymore, after all, so a white wolf pup is all she sees.]

He's a person. He just can't talk is all.

[Roxas may be missing the exact point of her question.]

Woo... [A person, huh? It's pretty endearing to know he's thought of that way, as a person and not a dog or god or goddog.]

A person? [... That would explain why he felt odd, but he's just one point in the sea of many. Perhaps they were dogs disguised as people as well. Chidori pawses to study Chibi, clearly interested.] Were you cursed to be a dog?

[It's been a while since Yukari has seen Chibiterasu or Roxas. But it's a little hard to miss them, seeing Roxas carrying him like that. So she can't help but approach, albeit with a bit of an amused grin.

She supposes she hadn't realized how tiny the sun pup really was, until today; until seeing him like this. But he seems awfully content.]

Hey. So I see you two've met.

[Oh hi Yukari. It has been a while. Roxas grins back at her a bit.]

We did get here the same day.

Roo? [Chibi tilts his head to the side, a little confused about what Yukari finds so amusing.]

[Aww, don't look confused Chibi. You're too adorable that way--

And in any case, Yukari isn't exactly surprised, either. It was just... kind of an observation. She reaches up to scratch behind Chibi's ears a bit before she turns her attention to Roxas.]

Oh yeah. Come to think of it, I did run into both of you guys that day.

[Thinking back, she nods to agree. They were both soaked.]

It's been a while, huh?

Yeah.

[He wonders if she's heard about any of the drama going on lately... But that's not what he asks.]
