While waiting on Vanitas's reappearance, Roxas was spending a fair amount of time around the plaza. But, well before finding his would-be murderer, he was located by someone with different intentions entirely.

It had been a while since Roxas had seen Chibi, and even longer since he'd made that promise about giving him a ride. But in short order a reminder had been communicated (with the help, maybe, of a flying tackle), and they set to work figuring out how this feat was supposed to be accomplished.

That was how it happened that anyone in the middle district might spot Roxas carrying the god-puppy piggyback through the streets, looking quite a bit more cheerful than recent days. Because it was just way too hard to keep a straight face like this.

Woo... [A person, huh? It's pretty endearing to know he's thought of that way, as a person and not a dog or god or goddog.]

A person? [... That would explain why he felt odd, but he's just one point in the sea of many. Perhaps they were dogs disguised as people as well. Chidori pawses to study Chibi, clearly interested.] Were you cursed to be a dog?

[He's not sure how to explain if she's not getting it.]

[Not quite, no! Chibi shakes his head, though despite the confusion he's grinning a little. He usually doesn't like being hounded with questions that are too complex to pantomime an answer to, but guessing games about this particular subject have always amused him.]

[Not a human, nor cursed. Then what? He didn't feel like the Shadows form Iwatodai either, so it wasn't anything like that. Chidori holds her sketchbook closer to her chest, frowning and trying to figure out this thing. She honestly doesn't know and it's kind of frustrating. And distracting her from her drawing.]

Then what? You seem like an ordinary dog to me, even if it seems you're hiding a secret.

Well, he's like a- god dog. I don't think it's a secret...

[He doesn't think Chibi would keep secrets if he could talk all the time.]

Arf! [Chibi nods along with Roxas' explanation, meaning to affirm both the "god dog" part and the "not a secret" part.]

[... That explains quite a lot, and makes this drawing all the more important. She starts to sketch again, making small notes on the side as well.]

I've never heard of any gods that took the form of a dog, though I can see why you would. They're very strong. Do you have a name?

[...he feels like she might still be missing something, but oh well. He lifts his head as she starts sketching as though trying to get a peek.]

Oh. I'm Roxas, and this is- Chibiterasu. He likes "Little Sun," too, though.

[Chibi beams, particularly delighted that he's got someone who can tell people his name without all the pantomiming and drawing suns on the ground. It's the easiest introduction he's been through yet!

Save for, of course, the people that can actually talk to him. But that's a different story entirely.

He bops Roxas on the head when he notices him trying to peek at the drawing- Ms. Artist told us not to move, remember?]

[Good dog. "Chibiterasu" is the name she writes at the top of the drawing in small letters, and she hides the sketch from Roxas. No sir, no way. This is for two sets of eyes only.]

Like Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun? [That's very interesting.]

[Roxas protests at this head-bopping. He could barely even see the front of the sketchbook from here anyway! Then he blinks at the girl's remark.]

You've met his mom?

[But then why is she so confused about him being a dog? Isn't his mom a dog, too?]

[Chibi is a little confused about that, too! Her clothes definitely don't look like the kind people wore back home, and if she'd met his momma here, there wouldn't have been any confusion over what form he took...

So how did she hear of them?]

[That's because you've never seen the gothic-lolita subculture, boys. Chidori shakes her head, and takes that bit about the pup's mother being that god in particular. So she was a dog as well, at least here? Nifty.]

No, I'm from Japan. Amaterasu isn't a stranger to anyone who lives there, along with the rest of the pantheon. I don't remember hearing about her having a son though. You can move now, by the way, I'm nearly through.

[At that, Roxas starts to move closer to her to take a look, but stops remembering she didn't seem to want him seeing. He's still very obviously curious though.]

[Aaaahh, that explains it, this is one of those timeline things! Man, future clothing gets weird...

He's happy to have met another person that's heard of his mom, though.]

I suppose you could call it a group of gods, or ones that belong to a certain religion or mythology.

[She finishes up the sketch and, seeing Roxas's curiosity, leans back a little on the bench to better protect her book. She's definitely not used to showing anyone - especially strangers - her drawings, but maybe she will one day. ... And it isn't like S.E.E.S might know these two, as many people as she can feel there are here. It'd be a slim chance, so...]

... My name is Chidori. I'd like to color this as well before I show anyone.

[Roxas nods, satisfied for the moment, and stops trying to peek.]

Maybe when you're done then? I'm sure it's loads better than anything I could do.
