The setting didn't seem unfamiliar at first: he was in some kind of alley and the sky was dark. He was sure he'd just been in a place like that. Maybe that was why, at first, he didn't realize the crucial change.

But he had trouble remembering what he'd been doing, moments ago. Why was he wet? His coat was sopping and heavy and--

And Sora didn't wear a black coat.

Roxas froze, forgetting to wonder about the circumstances for the moment, and stared down at his black-gloved hands. Sora wasn't with him; many of the memories were there, but Sora's presence, that person he'd felt himself slipping back into, was gone. He was Roxas again. Just Roxas.

If he didn't know any better, he'd say he felt a sudden surge of joy at that realization. Of course it wasn't real. Still, a tiny smile spread across his face as he stepped out into the plaza, baffled, slightly suspicious, but still glad.

"What the heck is this place...?"

[There you are! Oh man he is so sorry and he's gonna get you out of there right away and :(

Now that he's found you and there isn't the risk of getting further buried, Chibi paints up another windy pattern. The breeze carts fair chunk of towels off, not enough to get Roxas completely unstuck... But you're exposed from the waist up, at least!]

[It's enough for Roxas to pick himself up and extricate himself from the towels, though he blinks at the dog in surprise.]

What... did you just do?

[Ah... caught him, did you? He looks sort of sheepish, but he'll demonstrate- a whip of the tail and a strong gust of wind harmlessly blows over a stack of towels to the right.]

[All right, definitely not a normal dog. He smiles a little.]

That's pretty neat.

[You really think so? You'd be surprised, but back home most everyone was pretty dismissive of this stuff!

Delighted as he is at the compliment, he's not sure he can show off any of the other brush strokes while they're inside this building. Feeling a little impatient, he tugs at one of the towels and looks up questioningly. Dry off now?]

Oh, right.

[Although flailing amidst a pile of towels probably helped some. But he bends down, picking up one of the towels to dry the pup off.]

[Wait, this one was for you--

Ah whatever, he can go first! He helps as much as he can, lifting legs and twisting this way and that, eager to get done and out of here before someone makes them clean up the mess he made.]</small.

[Oh well. They both need to get dry anyway.

Once he's towelled the dog off as much as he can, Roxas puts the damp towel aside, uh... somewhere, hesitates, then decides to pull off his coat first. That thing is not getting dry any time soon, towel or no. But maybe the rest of his clothes can be downgraded to "slightly damp."]

[Chibi will helpfully throw some towels at him~]

[Towel flying at head--um. Well, he wasn't really expecting that, but thanks anyway. At last somewhat dry, he gathers up his coat and nods to the dog.]

C'mon, let's see what else there is around here.

[And we are going to wade through/climb over the fallen towels to make it back to the door.]

[The towel trek is long and perilous, but somehow they make it through unscathed! Well, mostly unscathed. This method of drying left Chibi with the worst bad hair day he's had in awhile, but there are worse things than looking incredibly silly.

Once free of the mess, he takes the opportunity to run around in the entrance, stretching his legs a bit. There's still plenty of shops to check out along this street, and it's still as crowded as ever. Do you want to get some food? Or maybe slink of someplace quieter?]

[Roxas's hair probably doesn't look much better if it's any consolation.

Stepping back out into the street, Roxas falters momentarily. Was it this crowded before? Maybe there is a food-and-then-slinking option. Although now that he thinks about it... He searches the pockets of his coat.]

Shoot. I don't- actually have any munny.

[Fortunately munny translates to money out loud, so Chibi gets what you're trying to say! He simply grins in response and waves his paw dismissively.

He's got this.]

[Roxas blinks down at him.]

You really think people will just give us stuff?

[Well... Maybe they would give free stuff to a puppy?]

...guess it's worth asking.

[Well, what he meant was that he's got cash to burn so don't worry about it, but it'll probably be easier to demonstrate that at upon purchase.

Got a preference? He's eying the peach cobblers in that bakery himself...]

[Sorry, Roxas kind of assumes that dogs don't carry money. Even magic dogs.]

This place?

[The stuff at the bakery smells good, he'll head for it. It isn't sea salt ice cream, but it's a little chilly for that anyway.]

[That's a fair assumption, yeah.

He nods, trotting across the way and rearing up on his hind legs to push the door open-- ah, wait. It's a pull door. Eh-heh... would you mind doing the honors?]

[Roxas gives him a little smile and pulls the door open, gesturing him inside.]

There you go.

Arf!

[And that's the only thanks you'll get as Chibi dashes past, already up close and personal as he presses his nose against the glass case. It seems to be a bakery that specializes in desserts, and very fancy desserts at that. It's probably hella expensive.]

[Roxas follows him to peer into the case himself. You do appear to have fancy taste, pup. He's not really sure what some of this stuff is, but it does all look good.]

How much is this stuff anyway...?

[He can't find any price labels.]

[Good question. Maybe this is the type of place where it's like... if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Chibi doesn't seem bothered by this, though! He starts pointing out a number of fruit-based treats to the worker behind the counter, pausing about midway through his selection to turn and see if you've picked out what you want yet.]

[He... will take one of those fruit tarts. Maybe. Assuming they are magically free. He's feeling a little awkward about ordering food without money. He glances down at his companion.]

You really going to eat all that?

[He nods excitedly, wuffling as he shuffles along to the counter to collect his tray. You really going to eat just that?

He's a bit confused when the baker tries to wave him off before he can pay for the food. Grinning, said baker explains that "for foreigners, everything is free" before going to help another customer.

Uh...?]

[Roxas blinks at the baker in confusion; since when are people that nice to strangers? But, well... if it's really free, he'll pick out one or two other things before stepping away from the counter.]

This place is- kind of weird, huh?

[He remarks to the dog. Buildings full of towels. Fancy bakeries that just give away food. Not that Roxas hasn't been to his share of strange worlds, but they usually make their own kind of sense.]

[Weird... but generous, he supposes? Well, Chibi has been given free stuff before simply for being awesome/a dog/saving the village, but being "not from here" was definitely new.

Regardless, he nods in agreement- it's definitely weird. Not weird enough to make him suspicious though, judging by the way he shows no hesitation in grabbing his tray and stalking off toward the few tables scattered around.]
