[If it isn't one thing, it's the other. Peace doesn't seem commonplace within the city and, quite frankly, Walter finds the "murder" not worth making such a huge commotion over. It's not like he really cared to begin with.

And though there's no worry of being recognized for what he is, he prefers to be alone. The forest is expansive enough for that. However, the sound of another pair of footsteps nearby dictates that the day for that is not today. If he's aware, then, surely, so is the other of his presence. Before long, they cross paths.

Black hair and black clothes . . . ]

["Humans" again. Even back there, everyone fell under the blanket category of human.]

. . . Why?

[ -- that was too vague. But any answer would suit him just fine.]

'Why', he asks.

[Heh.]

Wouldn't you understand, considering how eager you seem to be to avoid everyone?

[ . . . ]

I'm human.

[There's nothing uppity about the claim. It's a simple matter of fact.]

I never claimed otherwise. You're certainly rather withdrawn from other humans, though.

[Likewise, it's not an accusation—merely an observation.]

They're different.

[It's a wonder how much weight one word can imply. "Different." Of course.]

They claim to be human.

[contemptibility]

Oh? They 'claim' to be?

[asea]

. . . This is a meaningless conversation.

[He just doesn't want to say too much. So trying to step around -- ]

[And Tiir lets him step around—before grabbing his arm once Walter passes him, without looking at him.]

You know... it's that attitiude of yours that annoys me.

[There's a smirk on his face, which generally isn't a good sign.]

[He stops the second his arm is grabbed. While he doesn't appreciate the touching (at all), Walter only glares over his shoulder.]

. . .

[It isn't the first time he's heard something like that.

He jerks his arm out of Tiir's grasp, but doesn't make a move to head out again.]

[Well, now he's smiling pleasantly—which, all things considered, is probably even worse.]

Well, if it were just to me, that wouldn't be a problem. However...

[Walter hasn't known Tiir for very long. Most of all, he hasn't gotten to him well. But it doesn't take a genius to think that smile out of place.

Nor does it take another genius to know whom Tiir speaks of.]

That girl meddles too much.

[In his business, certainly. He has a feeling it applies to others as well.]

Oh? Do you think so?

[He's still smiling brightly—as he grabs Walter again and proceeds to throw him against a nearby tree.]

[There's no way he could have seen that coming. Gritting his teeth, he lets out an airy grunt when his back collides against the tree from a throw deceptive of the considerable strength behind it.

That's not normal.

Rolling over his back to get into a sitting position, he wipes some dirt off his face and shoots Tiir another glare.]

You . . . !

[contemptibility]

[His smile takes on a dangerous notch.]

I have certain problems with people mistreating my friends.

[asea]

[Friends, hm.

He doesn't think twice about that.

Rising quickly, he falls into a battle stance, his eres kept dormant for the time being. If it's a fight, then there's no more need to talk on his end.]

[Even as Walter falls into a battle stance, Tiir looks entirely at ease as he tilts his head slightly to one side.]

Oh? Nothing to say to that?

[No.]

Enough talk!

[contemptibility]

... It's a pity. Guriko wouldn't be happy if you died, so I suppose I can't kill you...

[Feel free to make the first move, Walter.]

[asea]

[He ignores Tiir. So a little girl gets to have a say in his life now? No, he's not going to think about that.

He leaps in for a side kick.]

[contemptibility]

[He jumps back to dodge it.]

You're not bad, for a human.

[asea]

[What a chatterbox.

Regaining his balance, Walter takes a long stride forward for a left hook.]

[contemptibility]

[And he jumps again—though this time forward, as he twirls in the air and lands behind Walter.]

Though I'm afraid it'll take a bit more than that...

[asea]

[The taunt certainly aggravates him, but he doesn't say a word as he swings his body around, lifting his right foot for a roundhouse kick. A rather strong but not notable kick, since he's more interested in landing a hit first.]

[contemptibility]

[... Tch. It's rather dull when they don't react.

The kick almost catches him off-guard, but he manages to jump back once more to evade it, still smirking.]

Is that all?

[asea]

[For the time being, yes. He straightens, losing the stance before pointing at Tiir.]

You initiated the fight, but you've done nothing since then. Why?
