[With all the unsettling events taking place in Vatheon, Shizuo figures a break to do something normal - something to distract from the horrible murders - isn't such a bad idea. It's been a little while since he last saw Cielo, so Shizuo invited him over, figuring that they could watch a movie - he now has a nicely growing collection - and catch up. He figures that if Cielo hasn't heard of various types of food before, he probably hasn't seen very many movies, either - so why not?

When Cielo arrives, Shizuo lets him in and shows him to where his movies sit on a shelf.]

I don't have a lot, but there are a few good ones.

[Most of them are family-oriented movies, as Shizuo tends to prefer light-hearted films over drama and violence, but he also has a few martial arts titles, including Ip Man, which he selects and holds out to Cielo - since this movie is probably a better introduction to film than his more childish tastes.]

[If somebody needed a distraction from the events happening in Vatheon, it was Cielo. The person who was killed was a nurse and that just so happens to be what he is here in the bubble, and ever since everybody he's talked to has told him to be careful, he can't help but be a little wary. So tonight's movie night was going to be welcomed with open arms. Not that he'd not welcome it at any other time.

There's an exact number of movies Cielo has seen: zero. In fact, he had to have the concept of a movie explained to him and he has somewhat of an idea of what they were based on things he did understand.

He looks at the movie held out to him and reads the title, taking note of the cover. He doesn't quite know what to expect from it, but he doesn't mind. Right now, to him, this is more about discovering what the hell a movie is.]

Looks good to me, ja?

Okay. Have a seat.

[As far as movies go, Ip Man is probably a good choice for a film. It's follows the life of a martial artist, as has a fairly linear storyline. Shizuo turns his television on and puts in it.]

If you don't like it we can always pick something else.

[He sits on the couch as well, and wonders what it must feel like to watch a movie for the first time. It's kind of difficult for him to imagine, since he grew up exposed to this kind of thing.]

If you have any questions, just ask.

[It's not very likely that Cielo will ask to change the movie. If he's going to experience a movie, he wants to see the whole thing. He does as instructed and takes a seat.]

Sure, sure. Let's start it, ja?

Okay.

[Shizuo uses his remote to hit play and start the movie. As it scrolls through the beginning credits, he relaxes into the couch.

He's a pretty quiet guy overall - add that to the fact that movies require some focus, and he doesn't saying anything as it begins to play. He will, however, answer any questions Cielo may have about the film or movies in general.]

[And the movie's barely started and already Cielo has something he wants to ask. Even though it isn't necessary, he points at the screen.]

So what's all those names?

Those are the people who made this movie. The actors and directors.

[Shizuo hopes that's clear enough...]

The people that you see there - they're the actors.

[So the actors are the people on the screen right? Okay he understands that! The opening credits are finishing and the actual story is starting.]

What kind of world does this take place in?

[It's not like anything he's seen before.]

My world. Earth. Just - from a time before I was there.

[The life depicted in the film is unlike Shizuo's life in Ikebukuro. Way different, in fact.]

And a different place from where I'm from.

[Earth. When Cielo thinks about it, that sounds like a good name to give a world. He associates lots of good with Earth like the old Muladhara base, plants, and Argilla. Just looking at the scenery in the movie, he finds it to be very pretty, like the landscape on the island.

Earth must be a nice place to live.

He has no more questions for the time being so he just shuts up to watch, fascinated by what's on the screen.]

[They sit and watch for a while. Since Cielo doesn't have any questions, Shizuo is pretty quite. Eventually, however, he decides to speak up and explain something.]

I don't really like violence, but I like movies like these, because martial arts aren't just fighting to fight. They're about honor and loyalty and important stuff like that. It's not about mindless violence.

[That, and the movie focuses on the themes of family and pride as well.]

[He has to agree. It's very amazing to watch. Sure, there's fighting, but there's also a sense that there's more to it than just fighting. Almost like there's a mystical quality to it. Cielo thinks about Shizuo's words and what he's seeing on the screen. Honor, loyalty, family...it reminds him of Lupa.

Lupa was amazing.]

Maybe this is something Gale would like...

[Shizuo turns his attention from the television to Cielo. Gale isn't a name he recognizes.]

Who's Gale?

[Ah! That's right! He hasn't mentioned Gale to Shizuo yet! The movie is temporarily forgotten.]

Gale's our comrade. [And by "our" he means himself and Serph.] He just arrived a few days ago.

[Shizuo stops from himself from saying something like, That's good, because he knows not everyone is thrilled about showing up in Vatheon.]

How's he adjusting?

[Cielo is certainly thrilled, though he doesn't quite know Gale's feelings on the underwater city just yet.]

Not sure, hard to tell with him. I think he needs to find something to do, ja?

[Because there sure isn't a war for him to form plans and strategies about.]

Yeah, I can understand that.

[Vatheon may provide for its residents, but so much down time could leave one feeling unsettled and ill-at-ease.]

I'm sure he'll be able to find a job or something if he wants.

[Even Shizuo stumbled upon a couple of odd jobs, despite his poor track history of holding them down. He had even been able to use his bodyguard skills to help Shelly.]

[Cielo is sure Gale will. War strategy might not be a very sought after skill in Vatheon, but Gale is smart. Someone will have something for him.

Though, Cielo does wonder what Gale would do if he got bored.

He turns his attention back to he movie - that's what they were supposed to be doing after all.]

Hey, Shizuo, do you have a family?

[Shizuo, too, turns his attention back to the movie, though he glances at Cielo while he answers his question.]

Yeah. I have parents and a brother back home.

[The way Cielo asked that - whether he has one, instead of what kind of family he has - reminds Shizuo that people in Vatheon come from all kinds of environments.]

Do you?

My Tribe is my family.

[Watching this movie and the family dynamics makes him wonder though...]

I don't have parents or siblings.

...I think.

That isn't a bad thing, though. Parents and siblings aren't the only kind of family there is.

[Shizuo thinks that having a tribe as a family can be as good as the real thing. Since coming to Vatheon, he's realized the importance of friendship - and he's learned that bonds with friends can be as tight as those with family.]

There are people I consider family even though we aren't really related.
