Who: Merman Walter and anyone
Where: Island (beach)
When: Afternoon
Style: Either
Status: Open
[Walter is seated at the edge of shore and damp from waist to toe. Under normal circumstances, he would've been out of the beach by now, but one thing is keeping him from returning to the city. That thing is a jellyfish, who's found a new home.
On Walter's leg. More precisely, his left boot. Somehow.
Despite the frustration welling up in him, Walter doesn't tear the sea creature off of him. He submerges that part of his leg underwater and picks almost gently at the tentacles with his bare fingers. In the eyes of others he may run the risk of being stung, but he doesn't fear such an event.
This is going to be a long afternoon.]

yes, very.
Immortality, she says.
A monster, she says.
Dropping his hands from the jellyfish, he straightens. After a long pause, causing an awkward silence to drape over them, he states in a low neutral murmur, as though he were stating but one of many facts of the world, ]
. . . we're all monsters.
[ No hint of sorrow, or anger, or anything. Just matter-of-factly.
And if she's just playing him and lying, then she's going to earn her due when he finds out. ]
hi
And then, with his usual nonchalant air—for he'd rather not be serious in front of Guriko—he steps foward from behind them and speaks up.]
I beg to differ. While I'm afraid I can't speak on your behalf, Guriko is not and will never be a monster, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't try to tell her otherwise.
[... There's a bit of a poisonous note in that, despite his light smile.]
'sup
Very quickly, however, she faces Walter and presses her pointer finger to her lips, in a "shh" notion. This conversation is a secret, even from Tiir. ]
Ah, Tiir-nii! [ Guriko turns, and holds out a hand to him! ] Mister Jellyman was telling me about how he befriended a jellyfish. See?
the ceiling
But he has nothing to contribute, and no will to defend his words, because as long as they mean something to him, it doesn't matter what others say about them.
So all he does is stare back, as if Guriko wasn't even next to him. ]
jae you suck
Ah, is that so? How kind of him.
^
... though, the tension is still there (thanks, Walter) and with Guriko feeling slightly closer to Walter, it feels as though he and Tiir should be getting closer as well. But she has no real way of making that happen.
...maybe!
Taking another step, back towards Walter. She's not wearing shoes, so her feet leave imprints on the sand. ]
Do you need any help?
:c
No. Your help is unnecessary.
[ He isn't brushing her off so much as he is the overall offer of assistance. He doesn't want it. He never wanted it. ]
:|
:V
[ She nods all knowingly, tugging on Tiir's sleeve. ]
The jellyfish will die if not handled correctly.
meanies
It won't die.
[ He's not much of an animal person, but he's not that incompetent. And it's not pride speaking -- or perhaps it is; however, it isn't a personal pride so much as one of his kind. ]
love you too
But you don't want to accidentally hurt it, do you?
doki doki
What Tiir-nii said.
swoons
And? What's your plan?
[ Because it'd be worse to have help that doesn't know what they're doing. ]
...
Guriko?
>3333
[ She look around for a moment, before picking the tie off her school uniform. ]
Guriko will use this. Though, there's a good chance it'll sting you. [ thinking... Snapping her fingers! ] Salt water and vinegar is the way to get rid of the sting, if Guriko remembers correctly! Then you peel out any stingers left in the skin, and everything is a-okay!
[shari]
But with his usual flat look, all he says is, ] It won't sting.
[ If you're careful, anyhow. ]
[jae]
[Just let Guriko do her thing, okay.]
[jan]
[ Nodding!! ]
[shari]
Still, he realizes there's no getting out of this with the clingy girl and the unnerving man. Eyeing Guriko, he moves the hand at his boot away to allow her access. He's not moving from the shore, though. ]
. . . Do it quickly.
[cal]
So Tiir will just be smiling but saying nothing.[
