nonsensical)
Where: plaza
When: BACKDATED LIKE HELL HATH NO FURY after...hallow..een-ish...LMFAO
Style: first

[ tea is nice— it's perfect for satiating one's mind, and it's a common conversational tool; despite its inefficiency to settle break's mind, it's at least tasty and, of course, his go-to excuse for having a chat with people. it's also classy— unfortunately, though break might give off the appearance of class, it's something he lacks.
maybe that's why he's taken over a whole corner of the plaza to himself— though not intended for use of himself only, as he was waiting for a guest. should the guest arrive, they would be presented with the view of a table that looked a tad different from how your normal café tables within vatheon appeared— in fact, it stands out quite a bit!
sitting on one end as if this were entirely normal is the most abnormal man alive— smiling, as if he were perfectly normal.
but normality is so overrated, normally— wouldn't you agree?
let's be mad this afternoon. ]

Yukari is tired. She doesn't even want to go; but really, being around the dorms when Minato was asleep with no signs of waking up is just depressing. She wants to go out, she wants to do things. Maybe not with him, but she can do a lot of good here, can't she?
She was maybe considering blowing him off. She hadn't outright agreed -- but it's hard to miss the elaborate display in the plaza.
Curiosity just had to get the best of her. She just had to come check, huh?]
...What is all this?
no subject
which is to say when he spots yukari, he greets her like a gentleman— via standing up with a flamboyant wave. he gives a noticeable announcement of her name, as well. ]
Miss Yukari! Please— come sit! I've a seat just for you.
[ there were only two seats present, so of course there was one designated for her— although two seats might have been unneeded, since break then decides to lean against the table itself as he beckons in her direction. whether he would return to sitting like a normal human being or not is entirely doubtful. ]
Eh? It's exactly what it appears to be— afternoon tea, or so to speak.
no subject
She sighs.]
Not exactly what I was expecting, when you invited me out here. Can't we go somewhere—I dunno, more normal?
[More concealed? Private or something?
...Failing that, he could at least provide a bag to put over her head or something.]
no subject
Oh? And what did you expect—? As far as I know, the plaza is an entirely normal place to have a meeting— you don't agree? The appearance of this table is just a little out-of-place, but it's far more charming than the colorless metal tables surrounding us, wouldn't you agree? Normality isn't always best.
Help yourself to some tea, if you like— it's very good! [ he says so as he picks up his own teacup, adding a dose of sugar to it. ]
no subject
Heh. I think you might be underestimating just how much it stands out. [Or how much it looks out of place. Juuust a little.] —But I guess I can't complain about the color.
[Gosh, how ever do people keep figuring out that she likes pink? She will never know.]
You pick it yourself?
no subject
Of course! [ it's an easy guess that yukari likes pink, but he really didn't pick it because of that— he's like a clown ok he digs the pastels. he did pick out something specifically for yukari, though—! with the hand not currently holding his teacup, he reaches behind his back (assumingly retrieving it somewhere off the table, though really, it's up in the air knowing break—) and reveals a pink bouquet that matches the spread rather well.
he extends it in yukari's direction. ] Do you like flowers?
no subject
Um.]
...Who...who doesn't?
[She takes the bouquet rather hesitantly, not really knowing what to think at first. This is the man that disappeared underneath a table at her birthday party, after all, so—really, how safe is this?
But she sniffs the flowers all the same, looking back at him with suspicious eyes. Possibly looking behind him to see if there's more where that came from; a bush she missed where they're growing, something like that. But it's not likely.]
I collect them, actually, so—
[There's a look on her face, and it's a demanding one. Spill it!!!]
—come on. What was that all about? Don't tell me you do magic tricks, too.
no subject
Certainly not! I'm a man, not a miracle-worker. I would, however, like to inquire as to what miracle brought about your safe return— you made it back quite unscathed. Congratulations! More than I expected of you, really. What a nice surprise, for me to be able to give you those flowers personally rather than set them on your grave, wouldn't you say?
[ he cants his head sideways over his shoulder to catch yukari's inevitable reaction— a single red eye narrowing as he smiled. ]
no subject
She had every intention of returning safely, so she's not really sure what he's getting at here. Though it did end up being rather dangerous in the end, she supposes, with Ryoji being affected as he was, but she was lucky to Minato, Maya, and Sven as back-up.]
Miracle? Heh. I don't know what you're talking about.
[She's not quite unscathed, either, but she's glad she can hide the scars well enough. She'd teach him not to underestimate her again, and if she really felt the need to justify herself, she could easily recount stories from Tartarus.
Her Persona—
But she leaves it at that, deciding that he doesn't need to know.]
I'm more than capable of handling myself. But thanks, I guess. I had no idea they were supposed to be some kind of reward.
[She takes a whiff of the flowers just then, casually. How nice it'd be to add it to her collection back at home...]
no subject
[ he pauses in order to lick the remaining icing from off his finger. ]
—Or that thing in your body?
no subject
What the hell is he getting at here?]
What do you mean by that? What thing in my body?
[brb playing dumb as she watches him lick off that icing.]
no subject
he'll ignore her feigned ignorance, since she must know what he's talking about; but just in case she should try to continue the charade— ]
I can see it, you know. What is it?
no subject
[She doesn't like this one bit. Even if he doesn't know anything, he certainly knows how to rattle her, and she's really quickly becoming more uncomfortable with this. She certainly is under no obligation to answer for him, but he's making it rather difficult to refuse.
...]
Tell me.
[What does he know—?]
no subject
[ honest enough! he really can't discern what it is, and that's primarily what's troubling him— he's never seen anything quite like this before. clearly summonable, and yet not a chain... ]
Therefore, I really should be the one telling you to tell me what it is, wouldn't you say?
[ there's a pause as he brings his teacup to meet his lips— ]
Bring it out.
no subject
She'd shown Tiir once, because he was in need.
But him. This guy right in front of her...he only seems overly curious, and nosy.]
...Excuse me? Y-You can't tell me what to do, even if I did know what you were talking about!
[—Personas aside, the notion that he could see into her body is creepy enough on its own.]
1/2
You really should stop playing dumb, Miss Yukari—
2/2
1/2
He hasn't given her one.
—and she's never been good at hiding her anger and emotions anyway.]
2/2
But still, she can recognize that this isn't exactly a good situation.
A low growl, under her breath, and she speaks softly.
...]
...Say whatever you want. I'm not about to conform to someone who won't even give me his name.
[She looks around, and there seems to be something silent in her expression, aside from the obvious nervousness.
Not here.]
no subject
[ he smiles in what appears to be a genuinely friendly manner and offers her a hand— ]
Pleased to make your acquaintance.
[ checkmate. ]
no subject
Oh what, now that I've got something you want, you'll give it to me? Jeez.
[Forget this...how does she even get herself into these things?]
1/2
yeah okay no he's laughing now. ]
That's how the world of information works, Miss Yukari! [ exactly so, in fact! there are a few tricks here and there, but the essentials—
and this is only common sense! SENSE! what a hilarious notion, coming from the clown himself of all people— ]

. . .]
Please— M-Minato is my best friend. What could you possibly tell me about him that I don't already know?
[Especially annoyed now! She's trying to remind herself that this is exactly what he wants out of her, but—
A part of her is nervous about what she'll hear. He's pushing her buttons.]
no subject
[ he knows she's at least curious, otherwise she would've shut him down already! he smiles in her direction, picking up a sugar cube to pop into his mouth rather than his tea. ]
Perfectly understandable should you prefer it not, though I might add!
no subject
What I wanna hear, who I am...
You don't know anything!
[Except that's clearly not true. Clearly he's pushed some buttons already...and the fact he can sense anything at all about her Persona is pretty telling.
...But she won't admit it. She can't.]
no subject
Repetition will not persuade me to the same denial that you have achieved, Miss Yukari.
[1/2]
Ugh. The best thing she can do is to not get worked up about this kind of thing, isn't it? How else is she going to think rationally...
Get out of this?]
[2/2]
In a sense, plenty of people are already aware of their abilities here. Certainly not everyone--but definitely more than back at home. and though she hates giving in, perhaps there is something to be done here after all.
Some opening...]
So you really want to see her that badly?
no subject
I highly doubt the plaza is the time and place for such a thing, Miss Yukari— but thank you very much for admitting it!
[ a clink as he sets down his teacup. he leans in from where he's sitting on the table toward yukari's seating; the table isn't very long, either, so he's able to stop just a foot's distance from her face— undoubtedly casting a bit of a shadow over her. he seems really pleased, if facial expression alone is anything to go by. ]
I would still very much like to discuss Mister Minato with you, however.
no subject
No. Words. NO WORDS for how much that infuriates her. Oh my gosh, she could kill him, or at the very least punch him in the face. It's a lucky thing for him that he's actually right, about the plaza. She'd thought the same thing, after all; but a reminder, no matter how nasty, never hurt anyone.
She shoves her chair back to put more distance in between them, because personal space is something she happens to value.]
Yeah? ["Too bad."] What about him?
[Still looks pretty angry, obviously. He'll need a lot of luck to get her to answer...well, anything else.]
no subject
He is not among the living.
no subject
This is hardly the way she wanted to be reminded.]
...
Did he tell you that?
1/2
'did he tell you that?'
why would she say that...? was she taking him literally, when he meant this in a purely figurative sense? in that case it meant that somewhere in this odd little group of childrens' timeline, mister minato was deceased.
HM. ]
no subject
Where is he, I wonder...? [ and he does so wonder in more than a single way, now. ] Perhaps it is an inquiry I should propose to him myself.
[ break sits up, adjusting himself fully to the right edge of the table in the process, and thereby closer to yukari once more. he picks up a nearby fork, popping one last piece of vanilla iced confectionary into his mouth before adjusting his sleeve— ]
Good day, Miss Yukari! I thank you so kindly for your company this afternoon.
[ with that, he reaches forward to catch yukari's hand with his own, offering it a single kiss with a smile.
he lets go immediately after, giving a slight wave before gripping the edge of the table with both hands. ]
Be seeing you!! ♥ [ his tone is a far cheerier voice than before; and with a laugh he lets himself fall backwards off the table, legs kicking up as he ducks beneath the tablecloth headforemost— it's quite a comedical representation of a backflip, but it gets the job done.
he's disappeared from sight quite well beneath both table and tablecloth by now— yukari should know well enough by now what she would find if she looked. ]
no subject
She's immediately getting the sense that she's said something she wasn't supposed to. Always saying what's on her mind, she's got to learn some restraint sometimes...restraint on her emotions, keeping them under control. It doesn't help when Break moves to kiss her hand; she flinches and tries to pull away, disgusted, but he releases it before she can even manage.]
H-Hey, wait!
[She reaches after him, as she sees him duck beneath the table, knowing what comes next...
And is left staring, flabbergasted once again, as she stands up abruptly.
She sighs, and looks under the table anyway, despite knowing what she'll find (nothing); and after confirming that he's gone, she sits back down with a shake of her head.
...It certainly didn't feel like they were done talking, but...maybe this is for the best. She decides to finish the rest of her tea, utterly annoyed, before leaving.
Xerxes Break.
Not a name she plans to forget any time soon.]
