It's 3pm and like clockwork, Italy has curled up for a siesta. He curled up on one of the benches in the plaza snuggled under a blanket, sleeping on his sketch pad. Normally he'd take a siesta completely naked, but the locals told him it wasn't appropriate. While it didn't bother him, it bothered them like it bothered Germany.

Oh well, he could still take a siesta in his usual sailor-collared outfit anyway. He fell asleep on his sketchpad containing incredibly accurate sketches of buildings in the area. He was still planning out what the shop would be like. (He was just a little distracted by curses and GHB).

Thoughts and dreams floated around him in the bubbles. Most of them contained food (mostly pasta and pizza, though there was some gelato there too). Others contained Germany and Japan.

A guy could see the strangest things in the park, Nack was coming to determine. He'd taken to making his way here when he got bored--which was a lot, around this place--because there was usually something to keep oneself entertained with. Today, though, the place wasn't so bustling. Probably on account of these stupid bubbles. Who wanted to walk around with their thoughts for the world to see? Nack, sure, but he didn't give a damn.

In any case, the place wasn't as active as usual and the only thing that caught his attention was some guy sleeping on a bench. Dull, but what could he do?

"The rooms around here are free, ya' know."

Italy opened one sleepy eye and stared up at the newcomer. Someone he didn't recognize at all, but that was just fine. Italy liked meeting new people. "Ve, I have a house but it's siesta time."

". . . come again?"

Maybe he should have just minded his own business. All of a sudden Nack was getting vibes from this guy.

Weird vibes.

Italy was an odd one. After all, he was a country with an obsession with pasta and a need to take a nap at 3pm. "A siesta. An afternoon map," Italy clarified.

Well that was sure something he could get behind. Still.

"In the middle of the park?" Nack gestured widely.

Italy nodded soundly. "Si, si, by the time I'd get home, siesta time might be over." He'd taken siestas in weirder places and weirder ways. At least here was safe. Then again, he was rather trusting.

Never mind.

"What's the point of sleeping if 'siesta time' doesn't last long enough to get across the city?" Nack said, flatly. "Place isn't that big."

Besides, this seemed like something a guy would want to plan around. Wouldn't want to get caught unawares and have to nap on a bench...

"Ve, it's a midday nap," Italy informed him. "I want to nap the whole siesta, not just part of it, so I nap at exactly 3pm." He was very particular about this and little seemed to stop him from doing so.

That seemed like dodging the question, but Nack's interest in getting to the bottom of this was diminishing at an amazing pace. Besides, those 'weird' vibes hadn't gone away anywhere. "Uh huh," he said, crossing his arms.

"Then you just get right back to that."

Italy wasn't exactly the brightest person to talk to about a custom and did tend to be rather stubborn with his mannerisms, especially with a siesta. It was an important part of his life, after all.

"Ve, I like that plan," Italy nodded. Interrupting a siesta was like waking someone up in the middle of the night. But Italy would manage with a short siesta.

[And then there is one little green alien, just staring at the bubbles for a while, antennae twitching a little at the different images. Especially the ones containing food.]

Ewwww. Humans are just disgusting!

[ Italy stirs from his siesta, opening a sleepy eye to see someone (something?) completely alien and unfamiliar. He shoots up and nearly falls off the bench. ]

A giant bug!!!

You! [ Italy points at Zim. ] Big bug eyes [ he mimics by putting his fingers in a ring around his eyes ] and antenna! [ he puts his hands on either side of his head, mimicking antennae with his first fingers. ] Bug!

[There is a clearly annoyed twitch in Zim's antennae.]

ZIM is not a bug!

[AND he points up at Italy.]

But you are obviously stupid to not recognize a member of the superior Irken race! Why am I even still surprised about that?

Ve, I've never heard of an Irken before! Are you from a new country?

Ve, America's not here anymore, so I guess his friend went home too.
