Ran's usual morning jog took a little detour today. Instead of a refreshed and uplifted expression on the Japanese girl's face, her features were sharpened with a subdued rage. She breathed steady, channeling the negative energy into her legs, pushing off each step as her sneakers hit the pavement.

Beads of sweat ran down her face as she veered off her usual path and towards the forest, she she continued forward until, without warning--

"HaaAAAAAAAAHHHH!" A fierce scream pierced the peaceful morning, followed by a deafening crack as her foot connected with a tree mid-trunk. Her leg still raised, fists tightly clenched, Ran panted heavily, her bangs matted against her dewy forehead. She drew back her leg slowly. "Stupid...SHINICHI!!!" She punctuated her cry with a punch, followed by a roundhouse kick.

Stepping back, she let out a sigh, leaving the poor tree still standing, but with a sizable crevice now indented into its surface. Pushing back her damp bangs with the back of her hand, she smiled. "Well! That felt better!"

"Uwaaah!" Ran gasps in wonder. "How did you do that?!" Ran wasn't really one to question the talking animals--this place didn't make all that much sense to begin with, and if she spent all her time trying to figure it out....well, she'd rather spend her time doing other things.

Besides, the rabbit seemed nice enough...Ran chuckled a bit. "Did he ask how you were able to talk?"

"Not really." Yeah he's ignoring the how question. Toon secret. He tosses the mallet off to the side and dusts his hands. "He was a bit more focused on sometin' else."

Trying to figure out the world is good an all but Bugs'll agree with Ran. Anything else is loads more fun.

"That sounds like him!" Ran lightly chuckles. "I hope he wasn't too much trouble for you? He tends to get his hands into a bit of everything. Always on the go and all that."

Ran still couldn't help but be intrigued by the mallet, though. Better not to ask though, right?

"Trust me, doll, I've hard worse den a curious rugrat." AT least she was confirming what he'd suspected during the little meet up. Oh well, right again as the saying went.

Best not to. There's really no way to explain it. "So aside from lettin' out steam; ya really do this whole ting every mornin'?"

"Yup!" Ran lifts a fist and exhales an energetic sigh. "I have to stay in shape if I want to continue being karate captain when I get home!"

She lowered her arm and smiled apologetically at Bugs. "But I'll try to find a different path if it's been bothering you...I usually don't kick at trees, though. That's..." That's just because she was angry...

"Kaate Captain?" He blinks and then carefully asks, "Like all dat 'hi-ya' stuff dat goes on over seas?"

He shakes his head and waves his hand, "Nah. It was more da yellin' dat woke me up but uh if you ain't always mad at" He glances around her then smiles a little, "trees. You don't have ta worry."

Ran giggles and nods. "You got it! I'm Japanese, after all! Karate is a very popular sport in my school! And I'm the captain of our team!"

Ran turned back to look at the tree again, suddenly feeling guilty. "...oh, I'm sorry about that..." She turned to Bugs and gave an apologetic smile. "It's just that Shinichi always seems to forget that I exist, even though we've been separated for a long while."

"A sport she says." He...isn't really talking to anyone but his tone is obviously sarcastic.

He follows her gaze again before hearing that name. Oh! A lovers spat? That would explain everything.

"Aw doll. I'm pretty sure no one could forget you. The guys probably just gettin' used ta havin' you around again. If it's been a long time, it might happen." It had with many of the soldiers that had come back in his world.

"Even so." She pouted out her bottom lip and folded her arms. "We'd talk over the phone regularly enough. Did he think that we'd just stick to that when he was back here in person? Geez..."

"Sounds like the guy's nervous." He scratches an ear and glances at her, "Uh...maybe you're not from da same time? It's sometin' dat happens an awful lot around here."

Ran pouts out her lips and glares off to the side. "I somehow doubt it. He hasn't seem to have forgotten that we haven't seen each other in months."

He scratches his nose a little. Poor slob was really in for it from what he can tell. It's hard to keep from laughing.

"Huh. Okay, maybe the slob does deserve a nice thrashin'."

Ran balls her right hand into a fist and thrusts it into her open left palm. "He better watch himself..! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!"

Bugs just blinks before laughing, "Ya ever manage ta catch him doll. I kinda wanna see."

"It'll be pretty hard to miss! He's a quick runner, that's for sure."

"Well, der's a stand at the market that sells somethin' called ACME. I'm pretty sure ya can find some pretty strong glue..." What? He would never insinuate to use the glue to make sure Shinichi couldn't run away.

"Eh?" Blank stare. "Glue?"

It doesn't work like that in real life, Bugs. ~~Yes she's animated too shush.~~

Aw, it'll work if you believe~!

"Yeap! Stuff's real sticky too. No way dat guy'll be able ta run off if he gets caught in it."

He is just so confident about this working. Toons rules work everywhere!

Ran catches herself actually considering it--whoa, hold up! She shakes her head and laughs. "No way..."

He smile coyly up at her before a bit of mischievous glint appears in his eye and smiles slyly. "Don't knock it till ya try it, kid."

"He'd probably find a way to figure it out." He always does.

...though maybe something so reality-defying would be a tricky subject for him?

If only Bugs knew they were talking about someone that knows a bit about Bugs' toony pranks.

"You'd be surprised, kid. Tings from my woirld don't always woirk da way you expect 'em too." He let's a small smug smile onto his face.

"Mmn...but..." Ran regards Bugs for a moment. He didn't seem the 'teaching' type. "Can a normal person learn to do those sorts of things?"

She wouldn't want Bugs to get involved. This was her affair, after all.

He rubs his chin a little bit in thought. While technically a human could use whatever ACME products were brought here. It would be harder to survive them. though the glue wasn't dangerous...so long as there were no anvils or giant rocks involved.

"Eh, technically yeah. Since all ya gotta do is follow da directions. Jus'...humans would have ta be a lot more careful."

"Oh, really?" Ran blinks curiously. "Why's that?"
